No spoilers, but compared to the amount of chapters that we got past Nevermore, plot developed a lot compared to what I was expecting.

Last time I read this was almost a year ago and it was just at the beginning of the nevermore arc, thinking of rereading this again from chapter 1, really liked this novel but I forgot most things time to start this journey again.
I know Minaga is just weird all around, but imagine how refreshing it is for all the gods to have someone like Jake around. Just a guy that doesn't care about power scales and isn't into polite social norms, while still keeping minimal decorum. A perfect dude to hang out with, especially for people like the Viper, who only has 11 other existences not pressured by his presence or Minaga, who's known as a natural disaster if pissed off and treated really carefully.
I think that part of the bloodline, especially the one immunising everyone around him, was sorely needed in the multiverse. The Jake Effect is good for morale all around.
The most unexpected thing with the First Sage so far... is that I just don't like him. Hell, I like him less than I did Ell'Hakan. Just seems like one of those douches that are mysterious just for the sake of it.
You're gonna get downvoted into oblivion for this, but... yeah, would make sense. Fallen King was a very interesting character, definitely more interesting than "Ree!".

Best character in the novel far. Sylphie should've been the one to go.

"In a non roleplay context"

Oh, if only Jake could see this. He would go on a crazy levelling spree, just to fight the Viper a bit sooner.
*telenovela theme in the background* d*mn, that would have sounded way more dramatic in Spanish
Last time we thought that it was Jake vs. William. And yeah, that one barely hit the Uncommon threshold.
This battle will be legendary

I am feeling surprising amounts of relief knowing that the Viper hasn't lost s*it. Was genuinely worried for a second.
