1. Plane Kalpas Solar: Based on the LONG explanation of eons in Soar into the White Sky, might mean the state of being alive throughout an eon.
Master Chicken's Note:
This is why I firmly believe Renegade Immortal should be read first. Bro just deadass dropped 2000+ RI chapters worth of cultivation progress info in a single chapter.
1. Atman, 意魂: 意 is thoughts/will, 魂 is soul. Will/Thought/Mind Soul doesnt really encapsulate the idea behind it all, because the word 意 in Confucianism means the attitude towards the things in the world, and these views can affect the perception towards good and bad. If you then link it to the word soul, doesnt it mean how a person acts and behaves due to his/her inner soul?
So after searching through words associated with soul and attitude in different religions, these four came up → Pneuma, Atman, Psyche, Anima
Anima was eliminated since it was used in ISSTH and it meant a state of subconscious.
Psyche was eliminated because it was more geared towards creativity.
Pneuma was eliminated because it had the meaning of governing a persons attitude based on external force.
Atman was left, and it was the closest. First, it is born from the self, represents the inner self, and also means the essence of the individual, so it was practically perfect for this context.
1. Xing Tian: This is probably what Xing Gan was based upon. He was a nameless giant serving under the Flame/Red Emperor. After the Flame/Red Emperor was killed, he swore revenge and brought a shield and a blade to fight against the Yellow Emperor (the one who killed Flame/Red Emperor). But he lost and his head was cut off, but then even after his head was cut off, he continued fighting. His face appeared on his chest as well. After that, he was known as Xing Tian. This came from Classic of Mountains and Seas: Classic of Regions beyond the Seas, West.
1. The connection between Xing Gan (刑干, xing2 gan4) and Axe of Execution (刑斧, xing2 fu3): The word 刑 can be a surname, which is the case for Xing Gan. It can also be execution/punishment, which is how Axe of Execution came to be.
1. Xue Sha: Mentioned previously as one of the five Berserkers in Eastern Wastelands who have obtained great completion in the Berserker Soul Realm.
2. Nan Gong Hen: Befriended Su Ming on the way to Shaman City, then became the leader of the Shamans (which later became Fated Kin) when they were left stranded in the World of Nine Yin. He was also the one who asked Su Ming to become their god.
Master Chicken's Note: Er Gen fucking cooking we having a straight up feast.
Yeah people be bitching about everything honestly.
Genuinely when it comes to pure cultivation Er Gen is probably the best author.
Renegade Immortal was great. Sure there were flaws but overall it was amazing. Pursuit of the Truth even more so. You can really feel how Er Gen grew as an author over time as he was writing his novels.
On that note I don't know if you've read the postscript he made for RI. If you haven't I suggest you do. It's really sweet and gives insight to many of his thoughts concerning the novel and his later works.
Makes reading his other novels that much sweeter because he really took time to recognize his mistakes and shortcomings and then promised to work on them and fix them.
Which truly he did and it is very apparent and clear now that I'm reading PotT and with how popular his later works and he himself as an author is I can only come to the conclusion he gets better and better which really makes me look forward to reading all his other novels too.

I'm close to chapter 800s rn and you're really in for a ride😂
I used to read this at LNC and the comments kept complaining about the story, pacing and whatever the f*ck else but this is genuinely peak. From the fights to the power ups to the plot. And yeah its completely different from RI and that's great to see. I love the fact that berserkers are their own thing different from immortals. And that there's a bunch of different races later on too.

Chase arc, a true certified Er Gen classic.
