Sloppy writing, bad translation and the manhwa and novel have major differences. Romance is very overshadowed by revenge (which is not really the main problem) and male lead is so one dimensional. It gets really bland after the revenge part. There are many plot holes as well.

1. Fl is just straight off dumb and stupid and evil. I agree with the fact that she was able to succeed only because she knows the future.

2. The author didn't even try to make intelligent villains. Okay it makes sense that MR is dumb but IF?? Really?

3. The romance is straight cliche. I mean cliche romance can be nice if written well but this? It feels forced. When the ml appears the problems magically solve, there's no difficulty while fighting the villains. It feels as if the author wanted to create a power couple but made something so forced instead. As a couple can you believe they don't have a single fight? Even after getting married? Ml is like not touching her cause she's underage but then they start making out the moment he finds out that's her second life. What a hypocrite.

4. The author has to signify in every single chapter that the fl is from "humble" status but then in the end she's not and it feels so unnecessary!

5. The mom and fl are really way too evil! They suck up all the money from the count and when he's injured, they leave alone to die. Even if he ignored you, you were able to live a rich lifestyle thanks to him! Call for gratefulness here!

6. When every revenge is finished, it feels so plain and boring. I mean the romance never felt exciting anyway, the ml (with no personality) exists for fl, there's no chemistry whatsoever and the only reason to read, revenge, ends. It feels draggy from then on and the manhwa also adds some more unnecessary plots to it. I have never wanted to skip chapters so bad (even in plain chinese dog blood drama novels).

I can't believe I used to like this when I was young. It's only now I realised how problematic this is!

A perfect mix of family, romance and revenge. With fluff and revenge combination and romance that does not dominate the whole novel. Love this! Found another novel to add in my favourites list.

No words can describe my emotions after completing this. This is a novel that amazes me at the ability of Korean authors and the ending couldn't have been any more perfect!

The duke is an actual villain (like evil) and the fl is a green tea b, she behaves and treats the ml and the duke like they deserve.

Looking at the prologue, I expected it to be a sweet and silly story. And it was, in the beginning, and then we see the different transitions in life. It was really amazing. Loved all the three couples!

The name suits this novel and my heart is feeling so mushy and reluctant to part with this so soon....<3

This was my first time reading something so short, like less than 30.

The characters or the story have no depth or any background, so how did the story start and the romance, no information, which doesn't make me get attached to this. So I felt no chemistry between the characters.

I didn't find it funny or fluffy. I have read short chinese novels before and they were legit funny and cute but this wasn't for me.

Let's not talk about the amount of cigarette smoking everyone does in every single chapter.

The author doesn't know anything about writing. There's no direction whatsoever. The story doesn't feel like a romance novel but rather a textbook style, like Q/A, so bland and boring. There's no description, no background,  nothing. You have no idea what's happening, where they are talking or texting. The writing goes from one place to another so suddenly. In short, the writing is very very flawed.

I have no comments in the romance. The lead's romance goes offtrack and who calls their boyfriend uncle? You call the guy you makeout with uncle? One couple clearly felt forced and one with chemistry did not get matched.

Honestly I expected it to be a fun and light-hearted story but-

Idk why but if you look from the other character's pov, their reactions are normal but because they don't like the MC, they are made to blacken and bad characters. Why can't the author portray them as humans who disliked the fl because of her disgusting behaviour in the past? Just because her soul changed, they become bad?

The ml and og Qiao moyu were the ones who slept together and had the baby and not our fl. Idk if I am the only one who gets uncomfortable with this. If the soul did not get changed the baby would have never been acknowledged

Second there's too much taoist stuff. Since it's related to someone who's a koi fish, there are so many things similar to that like the fl and the baby being taoist priests and all? Why is all those cultivation things necessary in a romcom novel anyway?

In the end, ig it depends on the person, some might like it, some might not. The characters are very shallow because of the author's writing, making people who feel justified negative emotions villains. And childish too. Let's not talk about the overbearing ml.

When I first looked at the no. of chapters- 

Then, be warmed, this novel has all the clichés and shallow, dramatic scenes that have been created in the history of Chinese novels.

The fl is so OP and inhumane but doesn't have a brain, if not for ml, I suspect she would have died already.

And mind there's r@pe too, between ml and fl. (Where both have been drugged)

The title is misleading as forget a secret marriage, they get together in 700+ chapters.

Then the kid, oh god, as someone who's months premature and autistic, he doesn't act like one.

You would think after they get together, the drama might end but no, that's just the trailer. There's even more and more and more dramas and soap operas coming.

My brain lost a few brain cells and was tortured after completing this. (A 2000+ chapters novel for the first time, second time was the Mr Nian one)

The fact that this novel was published in 2009 shocked me.

Second the translation quality is really bad. I have never read a chinese novel (other than mtls ofc) where I have such a hard time understanding what's going on.

The story's flow of time is really bad and the information isn't clear. Don't know if it's the writing's fault or the translation.

The moving on to the story, the ml is.....sigh. It's a fact that the fl is annoyingly dumb and the ml not giving her space annoys me more. 

I expected it to be a silly and fun novel but... It wasn't.
