Wife of The Demon Prince
Chapter 92: New friend

Chapter 92: New friend

In the the dark bushes, where Ara was arresting the men who infiltrated the crown Prince’s residence. However, as she walked deeper into the place, she felt some one else’s presence, more like someone was trailing behind her. She halted and slowly turned around her eyes darted around the bushes, but found nobody there.

Ara was about to turn back and continue with her business when she caught sight of a big figure hiding behind the tree trunk.

"Why are you following me?" She demanded with her hoarse voice.

Den the bulky soldier stepped out from behind the tree, grinning. He was so big and tall that even a large trunk couldn’t conceal him whole. He then said,

"Aren’t you the new guy? How did you know I was trailing behind you?"

Ara didn’t have time to waste talking to the man, "Go straight to the point, why were you following me, are you here to fight?" She had already sensed the soldiers didn’t like her around, but if he was here to pick a fight with her, she’d surely fight back. Despite that she was a woman and was smaller than him, she still had her fighting skills from her past life.

Den waved his hand in the air in protest, "No, No, don’t get me wrong man. I’m not here to fight you..." He paused and looked her up and down, "I might crush you if we fight." He joked, as the new guy looked like a teenager in armor.

"Then why are you following me?" She inquired.

Den awkwardly scratched the back of his large head, "Well...I saw you shot the arrow earlier, and I find you quite interesting, man."

"...?" She stared at him, then he continued on with an embarrassed expression, "If you don’t mind, can we be friends? I mean training buddies?"

Ara didn’t reply again and stared at him, he resumed on awkwardly, "You see...since we are from the same team anyway, we both serve the crown Prince...so we can train together, You can even teach me how to shoot an arrow like you did earlier..."

Ara saw how he was gibbering on and on and decided to just answer him to save her the trouble of having to continue listening to him, "Alright, friends."

Den’s face lit up at her reply, "Really?"

She nodded, "Sure."

"Are you going to train with me from now on and be best friends?" He asked, it almost felt like he was holding out his pinky finger to make a promise. Ara couldn’t help but smile, Den’s behavior doesn’t fit his appearance, it was completely opposite to how he looked.

In her previous life, the men in the army acted nice and sweet towards her, not because of her skills, but because she was a woman. However, now Den didn’t know she was a woman, but wanted to be friends with her because of her skills...which meant whenever she would follow Hamon she’d pretend to be a man from now on!

She didn’t mind being friends with a soldier since she had missed being in the company of soldiers since she returned to the past, as she was a woman people would find it strange if she was seen mingling with soldiers, just the few times she had been to Henry’s training grounds the soldiers had all been shocked, but with the identity of a man, she could be free to do whatever she wanted.

"By the way, my name is_"

"You’re Den, right?" She remembered that Hamon had called him that earlier. Den flashed her a smile for remembering his name, it really didn’t match the big guy at all. Causing Ara to laugh again.

As they were laughing, someone suddenly whizzed past them. They had not yet captured all the men who trespassed.

Ara immediately drew her sword from her waist, "Let’s go to work, we can talk later, Den."

Den nodded and stood by Ara’s side, "Keep your eyes open, new guy. I will show you how skilled I am with heavy swords." He smirked and took his two swords, which looked bigger than any normal swords. He spun it a few times in the air.

Ara gazed at him, as she heard the force of the wind as he was swiftly flipping with the two heavy swords. Her mouth fell open as she realized that her new friend was more skilled than she thought.

"Wow! That was...amazing, Den. Let’s go capture those rats on a run!" She said as she ran ahead and Den also followed behind her with his swords in hands.

_

Ara and Den finally walked out of the dark bushes. The number of men they captured were totalled five. And all five were carried by Den alone. He had two on each shoulder, and the three were bonded together with a rope as he dragged them on the ground. While Ara walked unburdend beside him.

"You know what, new guy? You were really good back there."

Den had a style of fighting to overpower more than three men at the same time. Meanwhile, Ara’s moves were so agile and accurate that she managed to block the escape routes and narrowed the place swiftly. He couldn’t help but admire the new guy’s skills.

"Oh, come on. We pulled it off together as one team, Den."

He laughed, "You know what? His Highness, is so good with any kind of weapons. Have you ever fought with him before? Because some of the skilled soldiers spar with him ."

"Seriously?" She glanced at him with curiosity, he then asked, "Haven’t you heard about it?"

"Not at all..."

Den chuckled, "No offense, but you better not try to go up against him with how small you look, man. Those who go up against him, tend to always end up with the physician. And they end up with severe injuries. Even I daren’t go up against His Highness." He advised.

Ara knew Hamon was strong, but she had never had the idea to go up against him or saw him spar with his men in her past life. "I didn’t know he’d spar with his men..." She muttered.
