Chapter 90: Unknown rage

"Your Highness, what should I say to them?"

Hamon stroked his beardless chin in thought for a moment, as he was in thoughts. A sound suddenly came from the bushes behind. Ara whispered close to him, "I think the queen’s men are already in the compound."

Awhile ago when Hamon and his soldiers were busy searching for Merek, the queen seemed to have sent another group of soldiers, beside the ones Oliver had went to capture, there were others in the bushes. Perhaps they had also noticed Merek’s blood trail and were searching for him in the area.

Hamon turned towards the man who had came to report, and spoke nonchalantly, "I have gone to bed."

"...What?" The man had an expression of disbelief at Hamon’s words.

"Go tell the fools, I am sleeping already. And I don’t like to be disturbed while sleeping...which means I won’t be able to grant them the permission to come in."

"Huh..." At the man’s confused expression, Hamon continued, "If I can’t grant them the permission, it means the ones inside trespassed my residence, Don’t you think?"

"...!"

The man finally understood what Hamon meant and his mouth fell open. Even Ara understood, normally the queen had to ask for permission from the crown Prince before sending the men to search, so Hamon intended to delay his permission. Furthermore, the ones who infiltrated his residence were now unidentified men as they weren’t granted permission to come in, so if Hamon punished or even killed them, nobody will question his actions.

Ara suddenly glanced towards a direction, she grabbed a bow and arrow from the soldier beside her and aimed at the direction. The other soldiers were confused at her sudden behavior, but immediately she released the arrow into the bushes. There was a cry from the direction as the arrow struck an enemy soldier, who was hiding listening in on their conversation.

"Excellent shot!" Came a praise from Den the bulky man.

Ara turned towards Hamon, "Can I go and capture all the unidentified men who infiltrated your residence now?" She asked.

Hamon knew it wouldn’t be too dangerous for her to go alone, as no one could seriously threaten her in a one-on-one combat, he had that much confidence in her skills, but still he didn’t want to risk it. He nodded reluctantly, "You may go."

She smiled faintly under the helmet, "Yes, sir!" Then ran into the dark bushes, as soon as she stepped inside, she heard footsteps scattering on all sides.

Hamon turned towards his men, "And what do you all think you’re doing still standing here? Follow him and capture all those men!" He barked order at them .

"Yes, sir!" They answered in union and immediately followed after the short soldier. As soon as they stepped inside, Hamon could already hear sounds of swords clashing together. He had no doubt that his future wife could capture all the men on her own, after all he has been the one to train her to become the warrior she was today, though part of it had to do with her natural talent and skills, she was a highly determined person, and with the way she had trained herself, he was certain she could take on even some of his highly skilled soldiers and easily defeat them, in fact, they might not even be a match for her at all, but he wouldn’t want to risk the chances.

Hamon stood with his hands folded against his chest as he observed the fight, but then he suddenly realized there was still someone observing it with him by his side. It was the man who had come to report earlier about the knight,

"And what on earth are you still doing here standing? Go and tell them am asleep."

"A-alright, Your Highness..." The man had been staring at the short soldier who had shot an arrow in the dark of the night, and was lost in thoughts until the Prince addressed him. And then he rushed away in a hurry remembering he had a message to deliver; that the crown Prince was already fast asleep!

Inside the crown Prince’s residence, the room Anne was in. Merek, who had been unconscious for a short while, began to stir as he slowly opened his eyes. He felt a sharp pain course through his whole body, it was burning like fire, every muscle was in unbearable pain.

Not only was he seriously tortured in the hands of the queen’s men, but he had also used up his entire strength to escape from them. He had pushed himself with everything he had just so he could get to escape their clutches, though he didn’t care about his own life, he still had to survive for the Prince, he owed him everything and no matter what he didn’t want to let himself die at the hands of his prince’s greatest enemies.

"Aggh!" He groaned as he tried to lift his upper body, he then turned to the other side, but halted his movement when he noticed the young lady sitting beside him sleeping, her head was rested against the wall. It seemed the lady had fallen asleep while watching after him.

Merek gazed at her peaceful sleeping face, her cheeks were tinted light a pink color her beautiful skin vibrantly radiant with a youthful beauty, small pin nose and dainty lips similar to blooming rose petals, the girl was what one would describe as naively adorable, her beauty was quite subtle but capable of entrancing one in a beautiful dream, looking at her adorable and peaceful sleeping expression she looked like a fairy from a different universe. Suddenly all the events that happened before Merek passed out flashed through his mind like a panorama.

The young lady had taken off her dress and exposed herself for his sake? Why did she do such thing for a nobody like him? Furthermore, she was His Highness’s soon to be sister-in-law, which meant the difference in their status was too far for her to even help him in such a way, and thus. As Merek was lost in thoughts, Anne’s voice broke his thoughts, "Oh, You are awake. How are you feeling now?" She asked concerned.
