Wife of The Demon Prince
Chapter 340: Reunion

Chapter 340: Reunion

"Hamon!" Ara called his name as she stepped out of the hall, and he turned towards her with a deep frown. Without thinking she began to run towards him on the snow, however the moment she reached him and was about to hug him, he quickly took four steps away from her.

"Who are you...?" He asked bemused, but immediately the question left his mouth he regretted it because an inexplicable sting clutched his chest as he saw the disappointed look that clouded her eyes, she stared up at him in slight disbelief, tears clouding her emerald green eyes.

"Hamon... you don’t remember me? I am your wife, Arabella." Ara already knew this would happen, but she wasn’t prepared. It hurt her to see that her husband who’d loved and cared for her for two lifetimes now had no memories of her.

Hamon stared at the woman for sometime, he couldn’t place why these sudden feelings were arising in him at the sight of her, he was about to speak again, but before he got the chance, his head began to pound.

He felt like his brain was about to explode with the pain that suddenly shot through his head. He quickly grabbed his head with both hands as he staggered backwards gritting his teeth to hold in the pained sounds that were rising up his throat. He could hear the worried voice of the woman who claimed to be his wife, however he couldn’t seem to understand what she was saying.

Blurry images and unclear voices began to flash to his mind. At first he couldn’t identify the images, until he saw a clear image of a woman, she had red hair, alluring green eyes that looked like the finest green grass in spring. Her smile was warm as the morning sun. He saw an image of her in a wedding dress, and how they’d shared their first kiss on the altar.

Little by little, his memories began to return to him and the day he perished on the snow until this very moment. She was the love of his life, she was the only person he’d ever cared for in this whole world, he’d sacrificed himself just to let her live, and yet he failed to remember her until now.

"Ara..." He mumbled the name softly as he slowly lifted his head to meet her teary green eyes. She didn’t come close to him and was still maintaining the distance he’d left between them when she wanted to hug him awhile ago.

Hamon felt the sting in his heart, he began to walk forward on the snow as if time had stopped. With every step forward, he could hear his loud heart beat pounding in his ears. He stood in front of her as she stared at him unbelievingly. The flakes falling down one after the other around them.

"Ara..." Unable to resist and see if he was dreaming, he placed his hand on her cheeks and noticed more tears pool her eyes, her lips trembled as she seemed to be unable to form a word as well. Her cheeks felt warm against his hand and color splashed on them due to the weather and him.

Not waiting a second longer, Hamon pulled her by the waist and engulfed her in his arms.

"Hamon..." Ara cried as she also wrapped her arms around his narrowed waist. She hadn’t expected him to remember her now after he’d stepped away from her like she was some kind of a stranger. She’d missed being in his arms so much that the moment felt unreal. She tightened her arms around him at the thought that her hallucination had become strong, but then realized it was real when he spoke.

"I missed you, my wife." Clutching her tightly while he whispered into her hair. He hadn’t realized how much he’d missed her until he recalled his memories with her, and now he didn’t want to let go and it made him tighten his hold on her that much more.

All these years Hamon had lived with no memories of his wife nor the life he had with her, and now it only made him feel more anger at the thought that he’d let her suffer with the pain of his death when he had been living a life with nothing to worry about in another kingdom with no memories of her.

"I am sorry." He whispered, and his apology only made her cry even more. Ara shed her tears of joy and relief in his arms, no amount of words could describe her emotions at this moment. She sobbed in his arms, and he ran his hands up and down her back to comfort her. The couple didn’t know how long they stood in each other’s embrace, assuring each other silently of their existence.

"Hamon, you are crushing me." She whispered into his chest when he tightened his arms around her, he quickly pulled back as he realized he’d held her with too much force.

Ara’s green eyes had now lit up, a grin broke down her lips, "I missed you even more." She said with glassy eyes.

Holding Ara in his arms, Hamon turned to look at Caleb, the young man he’d considered a friend and a brother for the past six years. Caleb stood beside the carriage with a stunned expression as he watched the couple,

"Caleb, I finally remember. I do have a family and a home. This is my home. And this beautiful woman here is my beloved wife, Arabella." He introduced her to his friend, who quickly seemed to regain his sense and bowed,

"It’s nice to meet you, your majesty."

Ara smiled, "it’s nice to meet you too Caleb, thank you for taking care of my husband."

Caleb smiled, "Don’t mention it, your majesty, it was more like he took care of us." He said to Ara before he then said to Hamon, "And I’m glad your memories have resurfaced, Hamon. So I guess you have no reasons to return to Greenwood with us. So now that you’re back home...I also have to return to my family in Greenwood."

Hamon wanted to insist for Caleb to stay, but then decided not as the young man also had a wife and children to return to in his kingdom, they had only delayed their journey because of Hamon, who wanted to find pieces of his memories because of Hara, who’d called him father.

Soon, Hamon and Caleb said their farewells and he left in the carriage. While Hamon took off his coat and draped it around his wife, "How did you see me from inside?" He asked her as he adjusted the coat around her body.

"I was standing on the balcony when I noticed your carriage." She said.

Both of them smiled, Hamon pushed her hair behind her ear as they stared at each other as if to cherish their moments together.

"Tell me about how you came back to life and where you lived after returning." Ara asked curiously, holding his hand and taking him towards the hall entrance but not going inside yet, she wanted to spend the time she had lost with him.

Hamon began to tell her of all what he remembered as they strolled through the palace grounds hand in hand. He told her how he was resurrected back in greenwood after a year of his perishing, and also how a kind lord had found him and took him in despite the fact that he lacked his memories and only remembered his name. Until now, he had lived with Caleb’s family who looked after him and treated him like one of their blood for six years.

"I’m glad they were nice to you. And I’m also glad that you’re back now." Ara gave his hand a gentle squeeze, and he smiled, "I’m also glad that you waited for me through all these years. Thank you." He pulled her into his embrace again.

"That is because I love you, Hamon." She whispered in his chest and he who had only been hugging her before, changed their position in a blink of an eye.

Ara’s back was suddenly pushed against the wall as he hovered above her, slowly his lips descended down to hers, but he stopped a few inches away from meeting her lips. Ara moved her head closer to close the gap that had been hindering them and clashed their mouths together.

Hamon was in no word gentle, his lips seemed to have grown hungry, deprived of her as his teeth bit right down on her bottom lips, forcing a moan out of her mouth before sucking it to soothe the pain and pushing his tongue inside her mouth, with both his hands, he used them to pull her waist into him, not leaving any gap between them.

He continued to kiss her with the heat that warmed their bodies, she still tasted divine on his lips and he couldn’t get enough of her. He had missed her so much so he didn’t want to pull away from the kiss and only deepened it.

Ara also returned the kiss with the same intensity, maybe even more. She hadn’t realized how much she’d been starving until this moment, desire built up in her lower belly as the heat in her body grew even more. She had been deprived of this for seven long years, she had almost even forgotten what it was like to kiss or the desire to want someone so badly.

After kissing for a long time, the need to breath made them to pull away, their foreheads rested against each other as they caught shaky breaths. Ara confessed,

"I have missed you in so many billion possible ways to the extent that even though you’re here, it scares me that you’d disappear and leave me alone again. I love you too much to be able to handle another departure."

Sensing the pain behind her words, Hamon hugged her, "I won’t leave you again. I don’t think I can compare the pain you went through during my absence, it wasn’t our time then, but it is now. The curse of the stone is now broken, and I am going nowhere."

Ara smiled with tears trailing down her cheeks, "That’s good to know, I’m glad. I can’t wait to make more memories with you and our children."

As if only realizing it, Hamon pushed away from the hug as he asked, "Where are the twins? And that little troublesome Hara."

He couldn’t imagine what would have happened to her that night if he hadn’t happened to be passing by. Back then he hadn’t known she was his daughter, but yet he worried about her, and now that he knew, he couldn’t help but feel more worried at the thought of ’what if ’ something had happened to her?

Ara smiled, "The twins are playing in the courtyard."

Hamon kissed Ara’s lips one last time before his hand slid down and took her wrist,"Let’s go inside, I can’t wait to see the guests’ reaction."

"The guests reaction?" Ara’s eyebrows furrowed. She didn’t realize what Hamon was talking about until he took her into the hall where all the guests were present.

People who were talking suddenly stopped when they saw the person standing next to the queen. Wasn’t he dead years ago? Were they seeing a ghost?! They all went still in shock while some had their eyes wide as if it would drop from its socket.

Hamon’s eyes met Merek’s as well as Henry, the pair stood still in shock as if they’d seen a ghost.

Hamon’s red eyes wandered around the hall, "Hello." He greeted one of the officials who made eye contact with him, however the middle-aged man fainted and fell on the floor face flat. Leaning towards Ara, Hamon whispered worriedly, "I think they believe I’m a ghost." And then heard Ara chuckle and whispered back at him, "A very handsome ghost at that."

With his hand holding Ara’s waist, Hamon spoke to everyone with a mischievous smile that deepened the dimples on his cheeks, "Ladies and gentlemen, I’d like to announce my return from the dead. I also..." Before he could complete his sentence_

"Father!"

"Father!"

Came the twins voices as they ran towards him with all their might. Hamon watched them with teary eyes as they ran towards him, he quickly went on his knees then opened his arms and immediately wrapped them in his embrace the moment they reached him,

"My little demons!"
