Chapter 270: Seize her!

"Who the fuck is there?!"

The maid’s face turned pale when she realized her mistake. But it was already too late, their location was no longer hidden from the mysterious men in the bushes.

The four soldiers quickly drew their swords and rushed towards the men in the bushes. The men also stood up from their hidden place at the sudden attack from the four soldiers, and one of them chuckled in amusement,

"...looks like the rat we are after has decided to show itself to us."

Ara took a dagger from one of the soldiers to protect herself from the men, who rushed out of the bushes to their direction. Her handmaid quickly hid behind her in fright, her voice quivering as she spoke,

"I am sorry, I-I didn’t mean to..."

"It’s not your fault Jennifer, just stay close to me."

"Y-yes your majesty."

Jennifer did not want to be a burden to Ara, and with tears in her eyes, she stuck by Ara’s side as much as possible. While Ara quickly took count of the men coming at them.

Fifteen! They were more than she had expected. More importantly, inferring from the men’s earlier conversation, there was a possibility that there could be more of them near by. However, the biggest problem was that, all fifteen men looked to be great fighters, as they swiftly took down two of her men.

One of the men rushed to attack her, but she swiftly blocked his attack and sent him flying with a hard leg kick on the chest, at the same moment another one tried to attack, and she kicked him as well, but he was quick to cross his arms to blunt the kick.

Ara knew even from this short amount of time that these men would not be easily taken down. She saw as the men killed the remaining two soldiers who were trying to protect her. The soldiers were also well-trained, but they were no match compared to the mysterious men. She wanted to help the soldiers, but she herself was in a tight spot.

One of the men suddenly grabbed Jennifer, and Ara whirled around in a flash, she jumped in the air with feline grace and struck the man’s chest with a powerful kick, before plugging her dagger into his neck, his body fell slacked to the ground with blood oozing out.

Ara hurriedly rushed towards the maid and held her up, "Jennifer you need to go and alert the rest of the soldiers in the tent, tell them about everything."

Jennifer’s eyes widened, "B-but I can’t leave you alone_"

"It’s an order, go quickly!" Ara said firmly, not giving room for another word.

Jennifer reluctantly nodded and began to run in the direction of the tent. Some of the men noticed her fleeing and tried to follow her, but Ara blocked their way. She continued to fight the men, however one of them successfully kicked her stomach unexpectedly, and it made her lose her balance and immediately went on her knees on purpose, as she feared to receive another kick that could harm her child.

Ara gritted her teeth and glared coldly at the man who kicked her. The number of men had reduced to seven now, and she glared at each one of them. Thankfully, she wasn’t feeling any pain in her stomach from the kick, but she hoped it wouldn’t harm her child.

"Who sent you?" She demanded calmly. However, they ignored her question.

"Is she the queen we were asked to capture?" One of them asked the other.

"She must be the one, her red hair and green eyes match the description."

"She’s really is a tough one then." Their expressions were twisted into displeasure, "We must take her immediately!"

Ara noticed the men exchange secret glances amongst each other. And one of them was even preparing a rope to tie her up, however she found an opening and hurriedly stood up from the ground. She dashed towards the open direction.

"Catch her!" The men ran after her as she made towards the bushes. However, she abruptly stopped when she reached the highest point on the cliff. And right ahead at the front stood a woman with some more group of men, who wore the same clothing as the men trailing after her.

Ara’s eyes widened as she immediately recognized the woman, ’She’s their leader...’

A woman with short neck length hair, and her unforgettable charming smile was standing right before her. And Ara could still vividly remember assigning her in the Boxton mansion.

It was Ellyn! ’She’s a spy?’

Ara’s face darkened when she realized that an enemy had been hiding under her nose all this while, and she had never suspected her to be a spy.

Seeing Ara’s expression, Ellyn burst into laughter, "Well, Well, Well, I finally got you in my trap...your majesty."

Ara clenched her fist without even realizing it. She was fortunate to have discovered Ellyn, but on the other hand, she was trapped and it was because of her carelessness. However, she was curious to know who they worked for, and why they wanted her.

Furthermore, she had heard from the other men in the bushes that Hamon was currently under attack, she did not want to stay here while her husband was in danger. She hoped Jennifer had alerted the rest of the soldiers to go and assist Hamon as soon as possible, nevertheless, she also had to look for a way out of this as well.

"Get the wagon ready, we got her already so we have to leave now, before the king comes." Ellyn ordered her men. And they quickly began to approach Ara.

"If you dare lay your filthy hands on me...I will cut off your limbs!" Ara threatened through clenched teeth as the men approached her, but they stopped seeing the murderous glint in her green eyes.

Ara raised her dagger and pointed it at Ellyn. But Ellyn responded mockingly at her confident attitude, "Do you know how many of my people are hidden in this area? No matter how well you fight, you can’t bring us down, and your husband..." She smirked, "I have kept him busy for the mean time, if you know what’s good for you, you wouldn’t try to fight us." She said with a smug expression.

Ellyn had been staying in the palace in disguise, and she knew about the king traveling, she had reported it to Cornell immediately. Therefore, he made a quick plan to lure Ara out of the palace to capture her, while he kept Hamon busy for days on the road. And also made sure not a single letter from Hamon would reach Ara.

"Your majesty, surrender if you want to be taken unharmed...these men you see around, are not to be reckoned with." Ellyn warned as she noticed how Ara studied the men.

"You shouldn’t underestimate me, Ellyn. You never know what I can do." She replied with a smile. The slayers were a group of the most ruthless and skilled fighters in the continent, and it was unlikely for someone like her to bring them down. However, she wasn’t the type to give in without a fight.

"Seize her!" Ellyn ordered. And they rushed to seize her, but Ellyn and her men did not expect Ara’s move, she leapt in the air and took down two men at the same time. She swiftly moved into action, she knew whoever it was that sent to capture her...was going to use her to get Hamon’s weakness, they wanted to use her to get what they needed from her husband since they wouldn’t be able to kill him easily. And she had a feeling that Cornell was behind this.

As Ara fought the men surrounding her, Ellyn drew out her own sword and approached Ara while signaling her men to back out and let her handle this herself. With a smug look, she said to Ara, "I will enjoy breaking your limbs, Your majesty."

Ara also took a sword from the ground, and faced Ellyn, "I will love to see you try." She challenged, the corner of her mouth pulled up in a side smirk.

"I will so much enjoy this!" With a loud cry, Ellyn ran towards Ara with her sword, but Ara was quick to dodge the sword with hers. Their swords clashed together, and they tried to push each other’s sword away, however their strengths seemed to be the same.

Ara twisted her sword and bent over to dodge Ellyn’s sword from hitting her, she then flipped behind and kicked Ellyn from behind. Ellyn almost lost her balance, but immediately controlled herself. Her face contorted in rage as she whirled around to face Ara again,

"You bitch!" Ellyn swung her sword and began to throw attacks at Ara, but Ara swiftly blocked every attack with her sword. They continued to fight, none of them wanted to give up, even the slayers were starting to find the fight entertaining. They couldn’t believe the all mighty Ellyn had finally found her match today.

As they fought, Ara soon struck Ellyn’s sword away from her reach, then did her flip again and landed a hard powerful kick to her chest, that sent Ellyn flying to the other side of the ground.

Ellyn landed hardly against a rock, and she cried out in pain as it felt like her back bone had split into two. But she tried not to show the pain as she managed to sit up on the ground, she glanced at Ara in wonderment. For the first time Ellyn was defeated by someone other then Cornell.

Seeing that Ara was approaching her again, Ellyn hurriedly turned towards her men and snapped, "What are you waiting for, get her!"
