Chapter 271: I hope you’re safe...

Seeing that Ara was approaching her, Ellyn hurriedly turned towards her men and snapped, "What are you waiting for, get her!"

At Ellyn’s order, the men rushed towards Ara at the same time. Ara quickly picked up Ellyn’s sword, which she had knocked out of her hand earlier and began to fight the men with two swords. Her attacks broke up the line of the men, she danced into the gap and quickly stabbed her blades into anyone who got into her vicinity.

Her eyes fell on the man who kicked her stomach earlier, and with a graceful move, her sword pierced into his stomach and she pulled it out, he fell to the ground spurting blood. She did not stop there, and began cutting through the slayers one by one.

Ellyn, who was still sitting on the ground watched with angry veins bulging on her forehead. She could still feel the burn in her back, with a hand on her chest where Ara had kicked her earlier, she managed to push herself up. ’She is beyond my expectations...’

Ellyn had heard words about Ara’s incredible fighting abilities, and also heard that she fought ruthlessly. Even so, Ellyn had believed that Ara could not be as powerful as she was, but seeing how she gracefully cut down a group of highly trained fighters, it was completely unbelievable. However, Ellyn would not accept such humiliation of being defeated in front of her inferiors!

Ara could no longer keep up, her energy was beginning to weigh down as more men rushed out from no where. She could no longer keep up, and she had been trying to avoid being hit in the stomach the entire time she fought. However, despite that, she didn’t give up and continued to fight.

As more men surrounded Ara, Ellyn got an opening and approached her from behind, she struck her hard in the back, "Ugh! Ara lost her balance but did not fall, so Ellyn kicked her calves and Ara finally fell on her knees on the ground. And immediately, countless swords crossed over her neck.

Despite the sharp blades against her skin, Ara lifted her head up and glared coldly at Ellyn.

Ellyn, who always had a smile on her face, had completely lost the smile, her face was clouded with rage. She clenched her fist, she did not like how Ara was glaring at her at the moment, thus she angrily strode towards Ara and landed a hard punch on her face, and Ara’s head jerked to the side from the impact. She instantly felt the strong iron taste on her tongue.

Ellyn breathed roughly, she then looked around her remaining men, "We will take this bitch away." She then looked down at Ara and lowered herself, "if you dare rise a hand to kill any of my men again...I will kill you in an even more brutal fashion than the second Prince was killed."

Hearing this, Ara immediately knew who sent them. It was Cornell!

Ellyn’s words was a considerable threat, but Ara simply smiled faintly. Cornell was going to use her against Hamon. Ara knew she might die in a year, and rather than letting herself be used to get to her husband and be a burden...she would rather choose to jump off the cliff and commit suicide, but there was only one thing that was holding her back from doing so.

Her unborn child. If she killed herself, it would mean killing the little life growing inside her, the innocent being. She wouldn’t be able to take the life of a child who hadn’t even seen the light yet.

As Ara was drowned in her loss, she suddenly heard one of the men alerted, in a hushed but frightened voice, "Look! It’s the king, on the path below the cliff."

Everyone looked below the cliff, and there, Hamon was seen fiercely riding on a horse with few of his men following behind him. His silver hair flowing with the evening wind. It was evident he looked angry.

Since Ara’s back was to the direction where the men were looking, she couldn’t see Hamon, but hearing the men’s words that Hamon was passing below the cliff, she tried to scream his name, but before she could even open her mouth, Ellyn struck her neck and she immediately fell unconscious.

"We have to leave this place before he learns about her disappearance, he must have escaped the men already. Tie her up, let’s take her to Lord Cornell." After giving her orders, Ellyn turned on her heels and let her men do the rest of the job. She needed a physician to treat her aching back.

Hamon, who was riding fiercely on his horse below the cliff, suddenly pulled his horse’s reins. With a deep frown, he glanced upwards, as he seemed to have sensed as if people were up there. But then, saw nothing.

Hamon’s hair looked messed up from all the long ride on the horse. After his meeting with the king of Bredon, he had immediately planned to return to Findara, but unfortunately their carriages broke down and most of the horses they took with them were stolen. He had tried to get some carriages in Bredon, but every person turned him down, even the king refused to help him get a carriage, as he had refused to marry their princess. It was like the people of Bredon were afraid to even offer him any help.

However, he had to resort to using threats before he could get the carriages and horses. But unfortunately, when they were almost close to Findara, they were suddenly attacked by some unknown men. And all their carriages were burned down to ashes by the men again.

It almost seemed as if the attack was merely to delay them from returning to Findara, as it had taken them a lot of time fighting off the unknown men, and almost all the soldiers he took in his procession were killed, with such a delay, he could not return to Findara in the time he had promised his wife.

Nevertheless, what worried him the most was the fact that he never received any reply letters from Ara despite sending letters to her almost everyday. Which was why he was hurrying back home. But reaching to this area, he had suddenly had a feeling of being watched from above the mountains.

Oliver, who’d rode his horse ahead, turned around when Hamon stopped, "What’s wrong, your majesty?" He asked a bit surprised that Hamon had suddenly stopped here, when he was the one urging them to move faster so they could reach the palace on time.

Hamon, however stared wordlessly up at the cliff from the narrowed path, "...strange." he muttered softly, but Oliver heard him, "What do you mean?"

"I thought I saw some people up there right now."

Oliver also looked upwards, then frowned, "There is nobody up there Your majesty. Perhaps you’re too fatigued from the long journey, we should head back, so you can get some rest"

Hamon frowned slightly knowing full well the meaning behind Oliver’s words. Oliver must have thought he was seeing things, but couldn’t say it straight out. Hamon also almost believed he was seeing things as well since the top of the cliff looked empty without a single soul in sight, but for some reason, he still could not take his eyes off the high cliff. He stared at the spot suspiciously. An ominous feeling lingered in the back of his mind.

"It’s impossible for my wife to be around here, but I strangely feel her presence..."

"Ah, that’s impossible, Your majesty. She could not have come here, it’s a very long distance from the palace."

"...I know, but I just happen to feel her presence...maybe it’s because I’ve missed her so much." Hamon murmured softly more to himself as he turned away from the high cliff, then spoke to the rest of his men on horses, "let’s go!"

Hamon snapped his horse’s reins and rode away in a fast speed, he was unable to find the words to voice his uneasiness. He would only be at peace after seeing his wife safe at home. His heart was beating fiercely for no reason at all, and all he could think about was Ara.

’My wife, I hope you’re safe...’
