Chapter 140: Embarrassment

Soon Oliver appeared with his blonde hair slightly messy as if he’d ran all the way here. He bowed, "Your Highness, You sent for me?"

Ara nodded, "Yes, I want to meet all the workers working in the crown Prince’s residence. And I’d like you to gather them all together, If it’s not much of a trouble for you?"

Oliver quickly shook his head, "Not at all, Your Highness. I’ll always be at your service." He lifted his head proudly, like an obedient servant. He was very respectful, different from when Ara was disguised that night as a soldier. He’d glared at her all through out that night, but his behavior with her now was far different.

Perhaps that was why she never felt attached to Oliver unlike Den, who was friendly towards her. She suddenly remembered Den, she wondered how he was, she hadn’t met him again ever since that night.

Ara resumed, " I want to gather them all together because I want them to meet the new head servant of this residence."

"...?" Oliver’s gaze shifted to the young lady standing next to Ara. His eyebrows raised in wonderment, he’d never seen a young lady take the role of a head maid, but maybe the princess chose her for a reason. He offered her a stiff smile as their eyes met, Emma who had been quiet, politely bowed and introduced herself first,

"Good day, sire. My name is Emma, Her Highness’s maid from the Boxton mansion."

Oliver nodded, "Nice to meet you, Emma. I look forward to working with you, as you may have heard already, My name is Oliver...And please feel free to ask me for anything when you need help handling the other servants..." He trailed off as Emma offered him a smile revealing her beautiful set of rabbit teeth in the front. Oliver couldn’t help but think, ’She’s really beautiful with a smile.’

He found himself gazing at her for more than he should. But Ara’s voice broke him out of his dazed state, "Can we get to it now?"

"Y-yes, Your Highness. I’ll go and bring them all."

"Thank you."

Oliver gave her another bow in acknowledgement, but Ara wasn’t done yet. She wanted to task him another mission to take the perfumes to an expert for examination, to see if it was really mixed with Cusida. Though she completely trusted Emma’s words but she’d need to have a substantial proof before taking any action against Merona. She’d have preferred Merek to do the job, but he was still in their mansion, probably being Anne’s personal servant.

Ara took the box from Emma and remarked, "One more thing, Oliver. I received this gift from the queen...can you get an expert to examine the perfumes?"

Oliver’s brows furrowed at the mention of the queen. The queen sent a gift to the princess? He glanced at the box suspiciously, "I’ll take it right away." He took the box from her. However Ara added, "Don’t let anybody see you with the box, and I’d like you to get me another identical box with perfumes before tonight."

Oliver glanced at her questioningly, "Another identical box?" He asked.

Ara nodded, "Yes, I suspect there’s a mole in the building, and I want the queen to believe that I’m using her gift. So she wouldn’t try to do anything for now."

If she got another identical perfume box, and if Merona perceived the scent on her, she’d probably let her guard down and believe Ara was clueless about the perfumes being mixed with Cusida. In that way, they’d have time to gather their evidence against Merona. She’d let Hamon know about the perfumes later.

Oliver seemed to understand her thoughts and replied, "I’ll get it done right away, I’ll leave to get the servants first."

"Yes, please."

Oliver hurried to leave, but suddenly halted as if he forgot to say something, he turned around, "Your Highness...You don’t have to worry next time when going to the training hall, nobody would disturb your time with His Highness again. I’ve instructed the soldiers not to go near the premises whenever you’re around." He assured with his face slightly turning crimson.

"W-what?"

Ara blinked in confusion, but she then suddenly recalled the kiss in the training hall, the scene suddenly flashed to her mind, her cheeks flamed as she realized what he meant. Damn it! It had completely slipped her mind that Oliver was the one who came to the training hall when Hamon was kissing her. This was unbelievable! It was really embarrassing!

Ara cleared her throat awkwardly. Outwardly she looked calm but inwardly, she felt like digging a hole and crawling in and never to come out again. Other people might not think much of it because they were already a married couple, but Ara was embarrassed to the point she wanted to kill herself, she felt like smacking Oliver silly to the extent he’d never open his mouth to talk again!

Emma looked curiously at Ara, "Did something happen to you in the training hall, My lady?"She asked curiously.

Hopefully Oliver had the sense to clear it up, he quickly replied to Emma before Ara could, "Nothing happened, Emma. I’ll leave now." He bowed, and quickly left with a pleased look as if he’d done a great job ordering the soldiers not to disturb His Highness and his wife in the training hall. He was sure the crown princess was satisfied with what he’d done!

Oblivious of Ara’s feelings, he left whistling happily. Ara awkwardly avoided Emma’s gaze and walked to stand by the window, she could train with Hamon now, but rumors would soon spread about them using the training hall to do something else. Hamon! He was really wicked!

It seemed she’d need a lot of mental preparation before she’d start to train with him in this lifetime. Her face glowed red as she remembered the hot pressure of his lips against hers. Ara couldn’t help but use her palm to fan her hot face.
