Chapter 113: I am here now

He seemed to find glee in playing with her, but his glibness caused her a level of discomfort quite unlike Hamon.

"No. But I have to return home early." She remarked calmly.

"Oh that! Don’t worry I’ll take you home myself." After am done with you. He added internally.

Cassius flashed her a sly smile as he picked up a bottle of wine on the table and poured into a glass, "Here have some, it will make you relaxe more, sister-in-law."

"No, thanks, but I don’t drink such things." She refused as she didn’t trust the second Prince one bit, but he insisted, "Oh come on, just take one glass. We can talk after that, at least one, please." He coaxed as he moved to sit on the same sofa she was sitting on.

Ara wanted to protest even further, but she suddenly started to feel hazy and dizzy as the smell in the room was getting to her head even more, her head was spinning pretty badly. She placed her both hands on her head as her vision started to appear blurred everything seemed to be spinning.

Cassius’s smile widened at her reaction, "Here have some, sister-in-law. You will feel much better." He said, but to his disappointment, Ara shook her head, "No, am fine..."

He shrugged, "Alright, if you don’t want it, then I’ll drink it." He took it to his mouth and gulped down the entire glass while gazing at Ara, who was gently hitting her head, but when she shook her head to get rid of the haziness, Cassuis asked,

"You don’t look alright, are you ok? Have some water if you don’t want the wine." He filled a glass of water and handed it to her.

but Ara wasn’t herself with the annoying smell, she needed to leave, so she slowly shook her head, "I...don’t want it, I think I am having a headache because I haven’t slept well lately." She said, "I have to go back if you have nothing to say, Your Highness. I will leave now."

Cassius’s lips tugged up in a more wider smile when he saw his plans was working just as he’d thought. He then remarked, "Oh my sister-in-law, don’t worry, I have a lot to talk about and do to you as well."

Ara heard Cassius’s voice slowly fading away in the background, but she fought the feeling to fall sleep. What was happening to her? She could feel her body slightly weakening as the smell further got to her head with each passing time.

While Ara was inside the room with Cassius, outside the entire building was surrounded with the crown Prince’s soldiers. Hamon had arrived at the address Merek had reported to him, he had a deadly look on his face. He was here to take his future wife back with him, as he was well aware of how his half-brother thinks when it comes to dealing with women, and was also angry because Ara didn’t tell him about her meeting with Cassuis.

He angrily strode to the entrance, all the men following behind him looked

terrified with the deadly energy Hamon was releasing, he looked nothing like the all-smiling Hamon, who laughed with Ara by the river. His red eyes were like burning flames, his jaw were tightly clenched, with sliver hair loose down his shoulders.

He barked orders at his men as they walked in, "Search the whole place for my fiance!"

Back at the room Cassius continued to speak with a smile, Ara cleared her head to hear what he was saying,

"...I want to make a proposal with you."

"What kind of proposal?" She managed to ask though her eyes weren’t able to see clearly.

"You see...I know you will be marrying my brother in few days, so I want to make a deal with you. Even though you married my brother first, if I become king I can still inherit you from him. And as you know, it’s a common thing in our land."

It was a history Ara had never bothered to understand, but she nodded.

Cassius grinned as he continued, "If you accept this, you won’t be at a loss, if my brother or I becomes king, it wouldn’t be of any problems to you, as you will still be by the king’s side in the end."

Ara didn’t understand any point he was trying to make with the way her head was spinning, "Mind to elaborate further..."

"It means if I become king, I will take you as my concubine even though you are already married to my brother. You will be mine."

Ara’s green eyes widened, she’d never expected he’d say such a thing to her. How dare he?!

Ara was shocked beyond words. She was about to angrily stand up and walk out of the room, but the moment she stood, the room spun badly that made her fall back on the sofa with a small gasp.

Cassius chuckled darkly, "Don’t try to fight it. There’s a sedative incense burning in the room, I wonder why you haven’t fallen to a slumber yet considering how strong the incense is."

The sedative incense?! So that was the smell she’d been perceiving the whole time! It was a very strong drug, when burned, whoever inhaled it would gradually lose their senses and fall into a deep slumber or for those with little mental strength might even fall to delirium. It hadn’t fully drained her energy, but she found herself barely able to move.

Cassius laughed seductively as he moved to whisper in her ear, "How about you stop trying to fight it? I will take you to a place you’ve never been before, I promise you won’t regret it. Let me show you what life in paradise feels like, sweetie."

Ara felt disgusted at how his breath touched her ear unlike Hamon. Cassius moved his hand to her waist and was about to untie her dress string, when Ara swiftly moved, with an almost invisible speed she grabbed his hand that was reaching for her waist string and fiercely twisted it, her anger flared up to such intensity that she couldn’t control her strength.

"Ugh!" Cassuis groaned in pain as he quickly drew his hand away from her tight grip, and glanced at her with an incredibly surprised expression.

Ara couldn’t help but felt relief wash over her as she thought of how lucky she was to have someone like Hamon.

_He...He has never attempted to touch me..._

Before this, she never cared about the personality of the man she’d marry as long as she could save her family. But what if it had been someone like Cassius? What if she never met Hamon and was forced to choose Cassius to save her family?

If Hamon was a man like Cassius would she still be willing to marry him?

She felt as if a disgusting bug had crawled on to her palm from when she touched Cassius’s hand. It never mattered to her who she married before...But she was certain that she never wanted to hold Cassius’s hand ever again.

Ara’s biggest enemy was Cornell, who she wanted to wipe out at all cost, and if she agreed to Cassius’s offer, she’d get to be queen no matter who got the throne in the end, but... She could never imagine trading Hamon for anything. She had been wondering who the second Prince really was for people to think that he was more responsible than Hamon, but now she knew exactly who he was...

Cassius struggled to get lose from her hold, "Let go of my hand right now!"

Ara tightened her grip and warned in a low voice, "Listen to what I have to say, Prince. You are such a disgusting being, and I refuse you offer. If you ever try what you did today with me again..." She released his hand and pushed him to the floor, "I will finish you up with my own two hands! Keep that in mind."

After her warnings, she swung open the door and walked out of the room in a hurry before the sedative drug would start to take more effect on her, as it was she was already incredibly weak, she had forcefully mustered all the strength she could to protect herself, she’d definitely report this to Hamon!

Cassius, who was still frozen on the floor quickly regained his sense when the door slammed shut. His face darkened as he realized the humiliation he suffered.

"The heck! I will kill you first, bitch!" He stood to his feet and raced after Ara, but before he could catch up to her, he was hit hard by Merek who was already around the room’s area to look for Ara.

Cassuis cursed Merek, "Fuck You! Are you blind."

Merek bowed slightly, "Am sorry."

Ara, who was walking almost running eager to get out of Cassius’s building before he caught up to her again suddenly felt even more dizzy, the effects of the drug was weighing in on her heavily, it was already a great feat that she was able to resist it for so long, her legs went weak and she felt her energy drained out of her and her body swayed. But before she could fall, a strong hand wrapped around her waist and supported her body from hitting the floor, the familiar scent made her know immediately who it was even before she glanced up. She slowly looked up at the person, she was met with his dark red eyes boring straight at her.

It was Hamon with his expression darkened as if he was totally enraged. She’d been repressing the effect of the sedative all this while, but seeing Hamon, she finally relaxed. He drew her body to his with his eyebrows furrowed, "What did he do to you?!" He didn’t yell at her, but the anger in his tone was evident.

"Nothing...How did you get_"

Before she could finish her words, Hamon had bent down and gathered her body in his arms as if she Weighed nothing. He pulled her to his chest as he carried her in a princess like style, he then whispered, "I am here now."
