Wife of The Demon Prince -
Chapter 108: Buy them all
Chapter 108: Buy them all
Ara could not hide her surprised expression as Anne ran inside towards the guests. It was Hamon and princess Eadlin in the room. But her eyes were on Hamon, who sat on the couch with his long legs crossed and had his usual aura of pride around him. It was a unique charisma only given off by the crown Prince’s aura.
He glanced up at her from where he was seated, then flashed her a charming smile, with his two dimples visible on both cheeks.
"Brother-in-law, you came as you’ve promised!" Anne exclaimed.
"Mhm, I’ve been here for quite some time waiting for you two, I almost thought you won’t show up." He hummed, "By the way, meet my half-sister who’s been dying to meet her sister-in-law to be." He introduced as he ruffled Eadlin’s smooth black hair, "Brother Hamon! Stop that." She glared at him as she smacked his hand from her hair, and quickly smoothed it up, before saying,
"Good day, you must be Anne, right?" She asked with a bright grin, her light brown eyes twinkling in excitement.
Anne couldn’t help but think, ’She’s really beautiful!’ She nodded her head, "Yes, and you must be princess Eadlin. It’s nice to finally meet you, Your Highness."
Edlin waved her slender hand in protest, "No, you can just call me Eadlin. It’s fine."
As the two were talking, Ara was still standing frozen by the entrance on seeing the two royals in the room. She was the only one in the room who felt like she’d been struck by a bolt of lightning.
"What brings you here?" She directed the question to Hamon, who sat there staring at her with his red eyes. But Anne answered before Hamon could say anything.
"I was the one who sent him a letter yesterday informing him about your wedding dress, so I invited him to come along to help you choose a fine wedding gown today."
Ara glanced back at Hamon, and he nodded his head in confirmation, "Yes, that’s right, I wasn’t doing anything today, so I thought to come help my future wife choose a gown."
Ara didn’t say anything after that, then her gaze shifted to the smiling princess who sat next to Hamon. She hadn’t formally met the princess Eadlin yet, and was astonished to see her here with him, as she knew the queen doesn’t like Hamon, she wondered what kind of relationship he shared with his half-sister.
"Good afternoon, sister-in-law." Eadlin greeted, then as if realizing something, she asked, "Is it alright if I call you that?"
Ara smiled gentle at the young lady, "Yes. You may, By the way, it’s nice to meet you, princess."
Hamon chimed in, "Alright, enough of the introductions already. We are here to choose a gown for my beautiful bride, let’s get to it." He deadpanned.
Ara shot him a glare as she walked inside the room and made to sit beside Anne, but Hamon was quick to gaze at Eadlin, who was seated beside him and jerked his head to the side gesturing for her to scram from the couch.
Eadlin gave him a once-over look before she went to sit beside Anne instead.
He then smoothly patted the space beside him and said to Ara, "Come sit here, My love." There was a seduction in his every small gesture, blood rushed to Ara’s face. She wasn’t the the only one who felt that way. Even lady Millicent was standing red-faced behind Ara.
Hamon’s presence and affection was enough to thrill even the middle-aged woman.
Ara hesitated for a moment, but slowly made her way and sat down beside Hamon, who was quick to place his hand behind her head on the couch. He then spoke to the woman,
"Where are the dresses?"
Lady Millicent fought to cool her red face and answered in a hurry, "Yes, I’ll show them to you immediately, they are six in total."
That was more than she expected! Thought Ara.
The woman added, "If you don’t like them, we will get other ones done before the wedding day."
The Teawe dress shop were determined to be the ones to design the crown princess’s wedding gown, so there would go to whatever extremes to make sure the customers liked it!
Ara wondered what kind of gowns were made in such a short amount of time, "Alright, show them to us first and we’ll decide which to choose."
Lady Millicent nodded her head and quickly stepped up to a small platform and pulled the black curtains aside.
Immediately she pulled the curtains; six beautiful wedding gowns on mannequins were revealed to them. Ara’s green eyes widened and even Anne and Eadlin let out gasps of admiration.
"Oh Lord!" Anne exclaimed.
"Wow, they are beautiful!" Eadlin chimed in with her eyes widened. Even though she’d seen beautiful gowns before, it couldn’t be compared to what was on the platform now.
The gowns dazzled luxuriously, each bearing a different design. One revealed the collarbones to emphasize feminine beauty, while another was a satin with fitted, boat-necked bodice, long sleeves embellished to the elbow with tiny golden buttons, with it’s full circular skirt. And there was even unlike the others with its mix of gold embroidery.
Ara stared with wide eyes, she hadn’t attended many weddings before, but she had never seen any beautiful wedding gowns like the six displayed on the small platform. It would be impossible to choose one from among the six!
Lady Millicent felt proud after seeing the ladies reactions. It was the best designs of her life. These were unlike anything she’d ever created before. And felt proud at herself because she had made the dresses with all her heart and seeing their reactions made her feel more confident.
"I know they are all so beautiful, but which of them will you choose, lady Ara?"
Ara could not even readily respond to the question, "I love all six of them!" She could already imagine herself wearing each of the gowns at the wedding.
Hamon, who had been silent until now, chimed in, "Great, I think my bride has made her choice already."
Everyone’s attention turned towards him, Ara couldn’t help but wondered which of them Hamon liked, "Hamon, which one do you think I should choose?"
Hamon glanced at her with his lips tugged up in a smirk, "And why will you have to choose one?"
Ara gave him a questioning look, she wasn’t the only one confused at his words even Anne and Eadlin stared at him in curiosity as well. But Hamon chuckled at their stares and answered causally, "I’ll buy all the six of them."
Anne’s and Eadlin’s eyes widened at the same time, even lady Millicent was stunned, but in a different way, deep down she was overjoyed enough that she could dance in happiness. She parted her lips and said,
"Your Highness, are you sure_"
"Job well done for making my bride’s wedding gowns. You can wrap them all up and have it sent to the Boxton mansion."
"Alright, Your Highness!" Lady Millicent looked happy enough to cry as she quickly ordered her workers to get them ready.
Ara, who was frozen on the sit quickly recovered from her dazed state and turned to Hamon to whisper, "I don’t need all those gowns, I just need one for the wedding day. We don’t have to take the rest."
"Didn’t you say you liked them all awhile ago? I was merely fulfilling your wish. And I think all the gowns will suit your body perfectly, besides you can still wear them after our wedding day." He remarked nonchalantly.
"You_"
Before Ara could protest any further, Hamon turned towards Anne and Eadlin, who were listening on their conversation, "What do think, girls?"
"Brother-in-law is right!" Anne gave him a thumbs up.
"Yes, brother is right, you can still keep the rest after the wedding, sister-in-law."
At their words of support, Hamon couldn’t help but smile further, he then asked lady Millicent, "Are there any more beautiful dresses you have prepared for my bride?"
Lady Millicent had thought it would end with the six gowns, but he wanted more?! She quickly pulled herself together and answered, "Yes! We have some more in the process of sewing, but I can show you the drawings if you want to."
Ara couldn’t even keep her mouth closed as she heard what Hamon said. Was he going to buy more dresses?!
