When Did I Become An Artifact Dealer?!
Chapter 110 - 111: Monday

Chapter 110: Chapter 111: Monday

After that argument, everything went back to normal. Well, not really that normal, since his mother started to mess around the kitchen only to create a monstrosity that Cail called a biological weapon.

"You should stop messing around." The kitchen almost exploded. Cail had no idea how she managed to cook before. He didn’t have any memory of what it tasted like—and fortunately.

Cail placed the food he had cooked on the table. After making sure everything was set, he grabbed his bag and waved goodbye. Today was Monday. After school, he was supposed to meet that fraudulent guy.

...

Cail arrived at class early. He didn’t want to be overwhelmed by the jam-packed crowd and preferred either coming in late or arriving earlier than everyone else.

He sat on the edge of the flower bed. He could open the classroom if he wanted to, but why should he?

There were also some students who had come to school early and were now finding good spots to study.

Cail pulled out his phone and started playing. Life finally seemed to have a semblance of normalcy. Just as he thought it would remain peaceful, a student walked up to him.

"Hello? Are you Cail?"

It was Auren.

Ignoring him, Cail continued playing with his phone. He knew how irritating his actions were—but that was the point. He didn’t want to talk to anyone.

Auren wasn’t offended. He sat beside Cail and smiled. "You are a member of the Supernatural Club, right? I’m interested in it. May I join?"

Still, Cail didn’t answer and just continued playing. Auren’s smile cracked, but when he remembered the task Mr. Quill had given him, he endured. He realized it had been a mistake to socialize with the most antisocial member of the group.

True, he was being hasty. But he was really getting impatient after being assigned this seemingly unending task.

It would have seemed too abrupt to just quiet down, so he tried to salvage the awkward situation. "Hahaha, Oris is your leader, right? I’ll talk to him later. You’re at school quite early..." Then he pulled out his earphones and just stayed quietly beside Cail.

A lot of students walked past them. Cail was pretending to be deaf—but wasn’t. He could hear what they were saying.

"Why is Auren sitting beside that guy?"

"That gloomy weirdo. Sometimes I think he would stab someone any time."

"I don’t think so? He seems fine. Just a bit reclusive."

"Sure, sure. But the aura he gives off really screams *stay away from me*."

Cail once again ignored those conversations. He really hated the school. He just wanted this to be over with.

"Hey."

Auren looked up. It was the class monitor. She was standing in front of Cail, her shadow almost drowning him, but he just acted like she was air. Auren had to hand it to Cail for being so consistent in ignoring people.

"Playing games is not allowed at school." She frowned at the combat game Cail was playing. Seeing that he was ignoring her, she felt pissed and pulled his phone from his hand.

Cail gripped it. He looked up and saw her sour face. He sneered, "Are you sick? Class hasn’t even started yet. Mind your own fucking business and open the classroom."

"Do you have to be that rude?" She tried to pull the phone away again, but Cail had already snatched it back and stuffed it in his pocket.

"You’re the one who randomly comes up to people and snatches their phones. Who’s rude here?" Cail felt she was being unreasonable. There was probably something wrong with her head. "Just because you have that pretty halo doesn’t mean everything you do is good. That doesn’t work for me. You’re strange and weird."

Her eyes widened in anger. "How dare you!" She had never been called strange and weird before—not once since she was born. And now it came from someone she looked down upon.

"You’re just going to stand here and fight with me?" Cail pointed toward their classroom. "Many of our classmates have already arrived, and you’re still dawdling and yapping. Tsk. How irresponsible."

She glared at him and stomped toward the classroom. Cail ignored her. She seemed to have psychological issues.

She had been bothering him for years. He had no idea why she targeted him and no interest in finding out.

Auren had seen the whole exchange. He leaned toward Cail and whispered, "She seems to want your attention." When Cail ignored her, Auren noticed the angry look on her face.

Cail gave Auren a look that said *don’t disgust me.* If she knew gaining his attention meant he was about to butcher someone, she probably wouldn’t want it.

He stood up and left Auren on the flower bed. Sitting in his chair, he face-planted on the desk. School was the best sleep medication for him.

"Morning." Iven walked past Cail and greeted him. His eyes were black and looked like he had been punched. How the tides had turned—he used to tease Cail about looking like a panda. Now it was his turn.

With his head still resting, Cail scanned Iven’s face and asked, "What’s wrong with you?"

Iven pulled Cail up and they talked by the window. He glanced at his classmates and whispered, "Jael... Are you sure we’re not going to perform an exorcism on him?"

Cail almost laughed. He remembered that Iven used to insist Jael was just traumatized. What made him change his mind?

As Cail’s friend, Iven understood that look on Cail’s face. He raised his hand in surrender. "Okay, I give up. Jael’s just too strange to be called normal."

"At first, I could attribute it to trauma... But as time went on, I realized some of his behavior was really... off." Iven is really now close to giving up. What’s happening for the past few days is not something that he could handle.

There are no scientific basis as to what’s happening with Jael right now. He wants a back up.
