Chapter 303: The World Is Spinning Like A Weathervane

[TAMIKO]

Tucking in Tamiko was easy, at least for the first twenty minutes that Kosta had stayed beside his Erasthai, watching as he struggled to break his sweat.

Kosta had come back with a wet towel and placed it on Tamiko’s head in an attempt to keep him cool, but even he knew that this wouldn’t work. He was hung up on the impossible and yet at the same time, it was like he wanted to see if this was what he had in mind.

Perhaps there was someone who knew the answer to this case, right?

Perhaps Kosta was wrong and Tamiko was not in whatever he had in mind, yeah? Oh well, it was a long stretch, and he had to be ready for this, mentally and even physically because time was clearly not on their side anymore.

"Konstantin, open up!" King Zaffuto’s urgent voice came from the other side of the door and Igor sighed.

He knew that this was going to be hard to explain, the head for the love of the goddess that the mad king didn’t try to take a swing at him because honestly, he was feeling so unstable he would probably pick a fight that he would definitely lose.

His mind had started getting foggy and images of a naked Tamiko were filling up in his head which wasn’t helping his case either.

But then he had to be the rational one.

He had to be the one who didn’t touch them into something that they didn’t want to happen. Tamiko was obviously not thinking clearly and this wasn’t even the worst case of it all.

"Sire," Igor greeted defeatedly as he opened the door to find the mad king standing there with an amused look on his face. It was the direct opposite of the cold voice the man had just ordered him with and for a moment, Igor was confused.

So much was happening at the same time and when the lavender scent drove him nuts already, he wasn’t sure he was in the mood to deal with an unpredictable psycho father-in-law.

"You look like shit," Lord Sadako pointed out and Igor sighed.

"He... I don’t know. I think..." Kosta trailed off, unsure if his assumptions were right. Perhaps he just needed to wait a little longer, but for what? It wasn’t like there was a manual that came with the mating season, right?

"Have you eaten?" the king asked and Kosta glared at him involuntarily.

"Don’t blame the messenger, kid. I was asked to come and check on you by the chef. Who by the way is suddenly so interested in you and Kaito over there? What did the kid do this time?" the king asked, even though he had a feeling that this was not just what Kosta wanted to hear.

"Your majesty..."

"Wake him up. You’re both late for dinner... You have five minutes," King Zaffuto said and Sadako wanted to smack his brother for that.

He could see that the Lycan Chief wasn’t doing well and the man could have at least acknowledged what he was seeing and yet just like everyone who was suffocating on lavender in the palace, he chose not to say anything else.

"Yes, sire," Kosta said as he walked back in, not birthright to lock the door. He could tell that the king wasn’t going to go away without his son and as awkward as this was, at least it made Kosta feel a little sane.

He had to hold onto that sanity because if these doors closed, he knew even he wouldn’t be able to control himself. He was certain that that was not what was planned. Hell, this itself was not planned, for fucks sake and Kosta had to deal with it.

"You didn’t have to be mean to the kid. You know he’s about to have long days ahead," Lord Sadako scolded and the king just shrugged. It was almost like he himself was excited for the coming day.

It was something that creeped Kosta out but at the same time, it made him wonder if the king was the same age as him. There had to be a reason for this, and Kosta didn’t want it to be what he was thinking of.

They were both not ready for that.

They had just gotten over the chaos in the realm and now there was probably a target on all their backs.

This wasn’t the time for the Lycan Chief to let his guard down and with Tamiko in that recessive state, Kosta had to be the one who made sure things went right. Perhaps this dinner was going to be the start of it too, right?

"I wasn’t mean, I was excited. You know Kaito threatened not to give me grandkids today," King Zaffuto said and Kosta stilled.

He was certain that he wasn’t supposed to hear that bit of the conversation, but at the same time, the fact that the king knew they all had super hearing and still talked about it, just meant that he wanted Kosta to hear them.

He wanted the Lycan Chief to know what his Erasthai was doing around the kingdom as if life was just all for them to play along with.

"Tell me you didn’t trigger Kaito," Sadako said, with gritted teeth.

"What? Why the fuck would I?" King Zaffuto said but Sadako didn’t believe him.

"Shuten," Sadako called out, his tone warning the king.

"I swear I didn’t. I’m telling you I was just as shocked. And the request made to the kitchen was all I needed to know that he had been triggered, alright. He wanted to deal with the crowning ceremony before he would go after the ones who kidnapped his omega.

"He even threatened me against trying to stop him. How the fuck would I have known that?" Zaffuto asked as he raised his arms up in surrender. It was interesting, and they all knew that.

Kosta was listening to them and he could feel his heart pounding a little too fast.

Tamiko had threatened his father, for Kosta.

Tamiko wanted the crowning ceremony for Kosta.

Tamiko wanted to go to war for Kosta.

Tamiko had placed a request in the kitchens for Kosta.

This was easily the sweetest thing anyone had ever done for Kosta and as he looked at the sleeping Lycan prince, Kosta couldn’t help but thank the goddess for such a thoughtful Erasthai.

He wanted to protect Tamiko and Tamiko wanted to protect him.

They were both agents of doom and were bound to explode if either of them was touched and that was the motivation that kept Kosta going.

The fact that Erasthai still loved him, still wanted him, still cared for him, made him feel like the world was finally a place he belonged.

They would have new wars and they would still find their way back to each other and it was the most romantic thing that Kosta could think of at the moment. Maybe he was losing his mind, but he didn’t mind, honestly.

He didn’t care that the realm would probably be down to ashes because of them. He didn’t care that shit would go sideways real fast because, at the end of the day, he and Tamiko would always, always be there for each other.

"Kiyoi is calling, my soul," Kosta said and Tamiko sat up
