Chapter 302: It’s Buried In Your Bones
[TAMIKO]
"You didn’t want me," Tamiko whined and Kosta started putting the pieces together in his head.
There was only one possibility and if this was what he was thinking of, then she had to be ready, hell, the entire kingdom had to be read because they were all in for a bumpy ride.
"Have you seen yourself, krushka?" Kosta sped softly.
Tamiko glanced over himself consciously, scared of what the Lycan Chief was talking about. For a moment, all he could think of was his lavender scent. Did he smell that bad? Was that why Kosta was asking him that?
Was that why it had been so easy for Kosta to push him away?
Oh, but Tamko was thinking on overdrive.
For the first time, he felt like he had no control of anything and it took him back to the days when he was a Lycan slave in Grealor. He didn’t feel suffocated, but he wasn’t stronger either.
He felt like he was about to be thrust into the midst of everyone again and then be left alone. He felt like the world was closing in on him and he was scared that Kosta would truly reject him.
His emotions were overdrive as his mind raced between his experience in Grealor and the horrifying feel of what he had felt when Kosta had asked for space.
And instinctively, Tamiko curled up in bed, tears falling silently as he tried to look everywhere debut at Kosta. Then again, it was impossible for him not to think of Kosta because the Lycan chief’s caramel scent was driving him nuts.
He wanted to wrap himself in the Chief’s scent but at the same time, he wondered if his lavender scent had gotten so bad it was irking the Lycan Chief.
"I... I’m sorry," Tamiko whimpered and Kosta felt his heart stop for a few seconds. This wasn’t what he had wanted. This wasn’t what he had meant and honestly, he was worried that he was scaring Tamiko.
But then his initial assumption was slowly coming to life because of the way Tamiko wasn’t even to fight anything. He wasn’t looking into the Chief’s eyes, nor was he looking any stable now.
It was like the world was suddenly filled with madness but it was all in Tamiko’s head.
"Look at me, dusha... please," Kosta pleaded as he heard shuffling outside.
Fuck.
It was already beginning.
"I didn’t think you wanted to see me again. I didn’t do anything with Akila, I promise. I just wanted answers; I didn’t mean to hurt him. I just wanted to find you because it hurt to not be close," Tamiko rambled as he covered his ears suddenly like he wasn’t ready to hear what Kosta was about to say.
"Krushka..."
"Make it stop, Kosta. Make them stop," Tamiko said before he began growling slowly.
"I’m not leaving, my soul. I’m never leaving," Kosta reassured as He tried to keep his focus. The room was slowly filling up with a lavender scent and it was intoxicating to his omega.
He was getting drunk on the prince’s scent and he could feel his self-control withering. But he couldn’t lose control.
He had to be strong and fight this. He had to be the sane one because otherwise the palace would be unlivable for the next three months and that wasn’t something that anyone wanted to experience.
They had just come out of a car for him and only they didn’t want to be the reason that more people stayed in their houses just because of the hurricane that was brewing and fast.
"But you left me. You went away. You didn’t want me. You wanted space. And you didn’t come back. I waited for you. For seven days. You didn’t even say anything, you did it for me.
"You left me," Tamiko scried out, growling involuntarily while Kosta closed the distance between them slowly. He knew how this was probably going to end and it freaked him out.
But at the same time, if there was someone who could determine the outcome of this and make sure that life is better for those we were outside, and beyond their doors, then it had to be him.
"It was the only way, baby. I had to leave," Kosta said knowing so well that his words would probably hurt the boy in bed worse than he was feeling, but this had to be done. He had to try this approach fast and if it didn’t work, then there had to be other ways.
"Was I that bad? Am I so terrible? I’m sorry... I was the reason they took you and I’m still asking stupid questions," Tamiko said defeatedly as he wiped the angry tears that were streaming down his face.
They were too much, and Kosta could see the emotion in Tamiko’s eyes. He could feel the way the room was changing and he knew that this was not going to be easy for him either.
"I had to leave to think. If I didn’t leave... If I didn’t walk away at that moment, then I would have lost control. You make me lose control in ways that no one has ever made me.
"You make it harder for me to think straight and I like it which is even supposed to be better for the both of us. You make me want to be someone else, someone I don’t even recognize. And you make me want to be anything for you. Anything.
"We were in the middle of a war, my soul. If I didn’t leave then everything would have come to a standstill and war would have been the one thing we came back home to," Kosta tried to explain as he raised his hand to Tamiko’s cheek, gently palming it like it was the only way out of this.
Tamiko was shivering so much, growling, crying and his body was hot; all the signs that pointed to one thing that Kosta was worried would be true if he voicedit out loud.
But then there was only so much he could try to hold onto whatever was there before insanity crept up to him too, he had to try and fight it, but how the fuck was he supposed to keep fighting when the lavender scent was intoxicating as fuck?
He was getting high and off on his Erasthai’s scent and it was driving him nuts.
"I feel cold, Kosta," Tamiko said as he gently pushed himself to close the distance between him and his Erasthai. It was a desperate attempt to feel warm and he wasn’t the king straight, not that he cared anyway. All he wanted was Kosta, close to him.
"I know, my soul. I know," Kosta said softly, though his voice had gotten huskier.
"I feel sleepy... but I can’t sleep, because Kiyoi..." Tamiko trailed off, as he sniffed Kosta’s caramel scent, like it was the only thing that mattered.
So, he lay on the bed beside Tamiko, as the prince sunk his nose on the bridge between his shoulders. He knew what was coming and there was no point in fighting it. After all, this was what they were made for, right?
"Kiyoi?" Kosta asked in the most normal tone he could muster, even though could feel a pang of jealousy creep up to his chest. He hated it because He knew that it wouldn’t be that bad, but he just couldn’t help it.
"I’m hungry," Tamiko mumbled before he fell asleep, on the crook of Kosta’s shoulder.
