Chapter 261: The Flower Bouquet From Hell [1]

"You don’t get it, do you? Tamiko is not like his father, because he is worse than his father," Gabe spelled out for them. Maybe if he reminded them of what the price was like.
Then they would take a step back and reconsider what they are getting into. There was a difference between walking into known danger yet not wearing a suit and going into a warzone expecting flowers for the graves.
It was madness and maybe it was best for them to listen to the alpha who was clearly on their side. Would he get through to them?
"That’s impossible," Maki, Zakhar’s mate, said as he stared at the alpha beside her. It was almost like she refused to understand the risks that came with going after Konstantin again.
Maybe they were hoping that the prince was too delirious to not even think that his Erasthai would be attacked again, but Gabe knew Tamiko. Gabe had interacted with Tamiko more than once and he was aware of how harsh the Lycan prince could be.
He knew what it meant to be a kid without parents and he had seen it in Tamiko’s eyes. There was a type of danger that Tamiko already posed as someone who had lost everything since birth.
It was the danger that had always kept Gabe from wooing him or insisting on anything if he didn’t have a card to back him up.
That was the kind of danger that Gabe was verily aware of and he was trying to save his friends and family yet they seemed conceived that Gabe was just running away.
What the fuck was there to run from if life was already doomed for them? Would it be any better if they tried to forget that there was a train of Lycans that was always on the sidelines waiting for their chance at the wolves who had fucked up their lives then?
"Is it though?" Gabe asked sincerely.
"You can tell that for certain. He has only been home for nearly two years. That is not enough time for him," Zakhar argued and Gae couldn’t help but look at his best friend sadly. This man had been there when Tamiko had murdered the Belova Beta.
Tamiko hadn’t cared for ranks back then and it wasn’t because he was an outcast determined to avenge himself. He already knew who he was and he knew that life was never going to be the same.
Sure, Kosta had given him the right backing, but Tamiko had murdered his very best friend, the girl who had been beside him his entire life, just because he had strung him along and never let him know what the truths were.
It was not something they needed to look past and yet it seemed that Zakhar was just as forgetful. Maybe Ciel was proof of Tamiko’s cruelty, or why didn’t they overlook it just because the gift was Lord Sadako who murdered Judd?
"Over three thousand wolves are missing from all three packs, and yet somehow the reports say that there were seven hundred... rogues. The Kawai reports don’t talk about what Tamiko did and the extent of it all.
"They have reduced the numbers to make it seem like Tamiko just went after rogues, but that wasn’t what he was after," Gabe began, the facts a burden that was weighing him down.
He was the alpha of the largest and strongest werewolf pack so it was just natural that these statistics be sent to him from across the other pcs. He had seen the reports and he had compared them.
He knew the work of Tamiko’s hands and all the missing wolves had been found dead in the same manner. It was a signature murder for Tamiko and yet Kawai was willing to cross their hands just to say that the young prince had only taken out seven hundred rogues.
He had done a lot more damage than that, but who the fuck was courageous enough to go to the kingdom of beasts just to argue with the facts?
It was never agreeable to make sense and if the rulers of Grealor didn’t act fast, then there would be repercussions and worse than what Tamiko had already done.
Gabe was thinking about his people, the Grealors who had been made targets because of his father’s selfishness. He wanted to alienate his father from the wolves but he wouldn’t do that because Kawai was coming for the wolves, not just his father.
The entire werewolf race was on a timer, so that wouldn’t even save the people of Grealor. Frankly, if there had been a better way to solve this, Gabe would have gone to Kawai and surrendered his father to the king, and himself to Tamiko.
Because they were the ones who had been the root cause of the chaos. But Gabriel couldn’t even do that. It was an unfortunate truth that he hated and had haunted the living shit out of him.
Funny how he was the alpha presenting his findings and his friends were here thinking he was the most delusional of them all.
"You can’t be serious. That kid was not even as bad as his father. Zaffuto was the one who murdered the highest number," Zula said confidently, even though a part of her couldn’t believe that.
She had not verified these stats and she should have done that a while ago. But then she wasn’t about to let the Grealor alpha sell fear to the best warriors that this pack ever had.
Zula wasn’t about to lose her only chance at getting back at her brother because of them.
Of course, they didn’t know that Zaffuto was her brother, and maybe if they did, they wouldn’t support her madness, but then they would be saving themselves and their pack, right?
Or was it just that the colors had long been drained out and there was never going to be a chance for her to make amends with the Greasers beyond this, no?
"Did he? The king left Kawai five days after the massacre of the wolves. Five long days and he was out of the kingdom for barely three hours. Isn’t that the time he used to come to you to take Igor home?" Gabe asked.
Zula glared at him.
She hated that there was a chance that this kid was right. She refused to be bested by a mere werewolf. Zula knew Zaffuto’s appearance was too simple and didn’t have any effort, it was like he had known when she was and had just come along.
Maybe she was hallucinating too, but then that couldn’t be the truth, no? Her brother was always a man of action, so that’s why he had come to Zula.
Zaffuto had to have looked around the realm for his son’s Erasthai, that was why he had come to Zula. That had to be it... poor Zula refused to lean into the possible factual state that was glaring at her.
"Zaffuto loves blood. He is a warlord and would do anything just to see the blood flowing," Zula argued and this time, Gabe just laughed at her. Was what relay a road Zula wanted to take with Gabriel Grealor?
"You think he would have done that with Daniel by his side? The same kid he broke bonds with just to make him feel comfortable in Kawai? you think he would traumatize the one person his son cared about since childhood?" Gabe asked.
