Vengeance of The Broken Lycan Prince [BL]
Chapter 250: The Beautiful Cynic Realm Master

Chapter 250: The Beautiful Cynic Realm Master

[KAWAI]

A new council had been formed, much to everyone’s surprise. After the massacre of the last sitting council, the Lycans knew they would be under a dictatorship. They had braced themselves for the worst of their years until the very end.

They had known that there was never going to be a savior for them because the Lycan prince was just as angry as his father, but he was far more wretched than his father. They had seen that and they didn’t even need witnesses to confirm that for them.

They had endured the kind of shit that no one had ever endured and they had readied themselves psychologically. The fact that the Lycan prince was mated to an omega had just solidified the fact that the council would never come to light.

An omega was sitting at the high table with the king, not just as his son-in-law, but as the Lycan Chief, whom the king had trusted with all of him. A transitioned wolf sat right beside the prince as his new Lycan Lord.

There was nothing that was certain anymore in Kawai, and yet when the announcement for the first seating of the council was announced, and warriors for the best houses were summoned to serve the kingdom, Kawai went into shock.

They had not expected this, and it was obvious in the way they feared responding to the call. The men and women who had been summoned were seasoned warriors and warlords, who knew what war meant.

They were the elites from the craziest houses of Kawai. Of course, there was never a house as crazy as the house Hinata, but there were some that came close by far. Perhaps that was another worry for the Lycan kingdom.

But then wasn’t it relieving to know that the mad king wasn’t turning Kawai into a dictatorship? Then again, is it ever going to make any sense even as the Lycans assembled at the assembly grounds as demanded by their king?

"People of Kawai, I greet you!" King Zaffuto began as he stared at the people who were scared shitless of him. He loved that and frankly, He didn’t care what they thought of him or said of him.

He didn’t care what they thought of his son and his new council, as long as none of them dared to touch his precious prince.

He didn’t care what the kingdom turned into, because if anyone tried to touch his son, they would never get to see the light of day again, and even the afterlife would be too cruel a hell for them.

Nowhere would be merciful and the mad king would make sure everyone was aware of that.

"This morning, I came before you with the new council. They will take over from the last council, but be warned that if you try to hurt my son, I will give you a fate worse than death.

"Let this be a reminder that I am not here to be kind to you. I am your king and you answer to me," the king continued and the Lycans gasped in silence.

They knew what this meant and they knew that whether there was a council or not, there was a clear red tape around the people the mad king cared about. He didn’t care about anything else and the safety of the Lycans would depend on what they tried to do with the mad king.

It was never going to be merciful and they were painstakingly aware of that.

But then wasn’t this the king they had all been born and grown to know? Wasn’t he the man who had served their entire lives safe for the past twenty-five years when he had given them reprieve?

This was a reminder that everything would burn just as easily as it was brought up and that the king was still as cruel as he had always been. It was not a subject for debate.

"Before they introduce themselves, I shall introduce to you the very people you must never think of laying a hand on, no matter how good you are at plotting, because if you try to come after my family, I will burn Kawi to the ground, with all your children and mothers.

"I will not care that they are innocents. Keep that in mind, because I won’t repeat myself. This is your first and last warning. A plot against my family is a plot against me, and you all already know how that will end regardless of what happens," the king spoke.

More gasps were heard among the crowds. The Lycan king had been a bastard for as long as they had known, but the king had never threatened their mothers and children openly.

Queen Liana had been their salvation in one too many ways. She had been the best side of the Lycan king, and right now, the queen was dead. The king was back to his old habits and he was with his son, a wounded prince who was determined to get his vengeance.

The only human side of the royals of Kawai was not even a light now. It was like they had all agreed to be monsters who would run the kingdom to the ground, or make it one of the best out there.

It didn’t matter though, because where women and children were involved, even the thieves of Kawai would stay in line. It was not a simple choice, but they knew the king never bluffed.

This was the harshest of periods for them and while they understood it was a response to the humiliation a month ago, they knew that none of this would even be better. They only had to hope that the son wasn’t as cruel as the king.

But wasn’t that why they were so aligned with each other?

"Consider this a reminder, people of Kawai. A reminder of what you are to steer clear of, a reminder of what it would mean for you. A repeat of what happened twenty-six years ago will never happen, and if you try to betray my people, I will kill all of you.

"I don’t mind ruling over a graveyard, as long as I remain with the loyal folk. As it is, you are aware of the Lycan Lord Sadako, my most loyal friend and brother. A plot against Sadako is a plot against me.

"Be warned, Kawai," the king said as Lord Sadako stepped forward.

Today he wasn’t dressed casually, but he was in the official Lycan Lord clothing. The black armor on his shoulder as he stared at the people, he had helped rule over for twenty-five long years.

Sadako knew most of these people by heart and honestly, he was easily the person who could have a heart as kind as Queen Liana. But something had happened over the years. Something had changed the king Lycan Lord into a shadow of who he was.

And as he stood there, beside the king who was introducing him proudly, the Lycans knew that this time, not even the kind Lycan Lord would ever be able to save them. They all had to be in the line of their lives to mean anything to the mad king.

"Let us make the kingdom a better place, Kawai," Lord Sadako spoke with conviction before he walked back to where he had been seated. He knew that the mad king had changed the trajectory of everything.

The party a few nights ago was like a goodbye to the lives they had been lax about and a reminder that war was here. War was at their door and there was not a soul that would talk the king out of it this time.

"Next, is the junior Lycan Lord, Daniel Belova. A werewolf I chose to transition and make a part of your home. He is a trusted member of this family, and harming him equals challenging me, and you don’t want to wake the monster in me, none of you would wish that on your people.

"He is also the perfect reminder of how replaceable all of you are, should you even be tempted to try and harm what’s mine. I could take thousands of rogues from different factions and make them a part of the new Kawai.

"I could make you breed and eliminate you just for a new Kawai. I have nothing you can use against me, so think and be very careful when you do," King Zaffuto spoke coldly and chills ran down Danny’s voice.

He had known the mad king was truly the worst of the worst out there.

But being on this idea of the rifleman listening to his remorseless voice as he threatened the very people who made his home a home, Danny knew that he was never going to be spared if he ever betrayed the king.

He knew that this man was worse than the devil himself and frankly. He wasn’t sure if he was safe from the king himself despite being the one person that the king had personally brought over to this palace.

It was the kind of warning that made him wonder what life meant to the mad king. Surely this could be the life that the Lycans had been living before the king found Queen Liana, right?

But then the realm had taken Liana Hinata from the king.

They had forced the man into hibernation and King Zaffuto was an angry man. He was an Erasthai who would burn the realm if that was what it wanted to get justice for his Liana.

He was the man who wouldn’t hesitate to turn everything into a barbecue for the woman he loved and had lived for.

Vengeance was his, and hells be damaged if anyone tried to mess with that.

"The next person is the Lycan Chief, the royal omega, and my son’s Erasthai."
