Chapter 235: You Turned Me Into A Weakling You Hated [3]
[KAWAI]
"Are you seeing me as your prince or as your Erasthai? Oh, wait, you wanted to reject me but didn’t have the balls for it. Do you want me to do it for you? Want me to fasten the unlinking process?" Tamiko asked amusedly as he looked at Kosta.
His eyes were still as empty and he was daring his Erasthai with the worst of the worst. This was something that Tamiko wouldn’t have even considered on a normal day. He would have fought for Kosta until the very end, but he was done struggling to hold on.
He had tried his very best before and his best hadn’t been good enough for Kosta. It was like the world was just filled with the kind of madness that he wouldn’t have been able to understand.
His heart had long paid the price for every little thing that he had considered before. He had suffered one too many times and if this was what karma looked like for Kosta, then Tamiko didn’t even have to interfere anymore, because this was long overdue.
This was what Kosta had wanted and while it had hurt Tamiko before right now, he didn’t feel shit. Instead, it was like he was also tired of the back and forth and was more than willing to give his Erasthai whatever it was that he wanted.
It wasn’t supposed to be that hard, and yet he had managed to get to this side of life that had fucked up so many people along the way.
"What are you talking about?" Kota asked as if he was new to all of this when he knew damn well what Tamiko was about. It wasn’t the best or even the easiest of things but this was what fate had chosen for them.
Regardless of what Kosta tried to do, the truth would never change, and as much as Tamiko wanted to hate what they had been forced into. He just couldn’t be bothered anymore.
He was free of the shit and the emotions that had controlled him when it came to his Erasthai. He had chosen the hardest way out and honestly; he had no regrets – not that he was even capable of feeling shit right now anyway.
Tamiko had lost his only link to humanity and Igor Konstantin was to be blamed for it all.
He had made this demon and there wasn’t a way to undo the mess. As much as he wanted to keep acting like shit hadn’t happened, Kosta knew that a lot had happened and that there was never going to be an easier way for him.
He had made this reality so cruel and he had to explore the worst of alternatives. And the only thing that had been left for him and any possibilities was the fact that even in the chaos, Tamiko had stayed still.
He hadn’t given up like anyone would have thought and it was a lot to even deal with. Perhaps there would come a time when shit would be better, but when?
"You tell me, Konstantin," Tamiko began and Kosta knew that this wouldn’t end well for him. He could be the rage and disbelief hidden under the amused smirk on Tamiko’s face.
He could see the disappointment and the faulty love that we staring right back at him. This wasn’t how shit was supposed to be for the both of them. This was what they had fought so hard for and Kosta hated himself for what he had forced on them.
Then again, it wasn’t like there was a button to undo all of this, of course, there was the chance of changing the timeline and deleting the memories that had gotten them to this point.
The king was the only one who could do that, but King Zaffuto had sent his son hurt so much that he wouldn’t forget it.
He may have considered resetting the timeline once upon a time, but Zaffuto Hinata knew enough to understand that regardless of the choice he made, some truths would eventually come out.
It didn’t matter how they came out or even why or when, but they would. If this was this chaotic, then it could be worse for the next timeline and Zaffuto Hinata would be damned if he made his son go through worse shit than he had seen this time.
It had taken every ounce of willpower in the king not to mess with the timeline, even when he heard his son whimpering and crying out for Kosta while he murdered the wolves who had been part of the crew that had taken out Igor Konstantin.
It had been a crazy moment and nothing would have prepared the king for that. And that was also how Konstantin knew that nothing would ever be the same for them anymore. Nothing.
And if he had to deal with Tamiko’s rage again, then he had no choice.
He just had to face it, but boy was it the worst kind of hurt for him.
"You wanted to be free... Lycans always reject those they want to be free of, right? This time I have a name and a house; so I can reject me for you if you don’t want to lead with it," Tamiko continued as he kicked the nearest stone.
He could feel the itch in his heart but he couldn’t quite understand it. He didn’t want to reject Igor, but he needed it. It was almost like the only thing that he could do to save himself more heartbreaks in the near future.
This was probably the craziest of things that he had ever considered and yet it did feel right. The temptation was high; oh, but it was. What the fuck was Tamiko supposed to do with that though?
Was he to give in or hold out and see what the fuck his Erasthai would be waiting for him to do? This was the kind of shit that Tamiko depressed and it made him really uncomfortable.
"No..." Kosta trailed off, unsure of what to say to this. He had been caught off guard and it wasn’t even a secret anymore. His Erasthai despised him, something that screamed rage and hate that no one would ever be able to quantify.
It is intense and it was crazy on the same front. Perhaps it was not what they were meant to be, but Kosta had had hopes for their mate bond. He had seen a future with Tamiko long before the chaos.
He had just not expected that it would be this complicated for him. Perhaps that was why he was determined to fight for what he believed in, for what he wanted to see through to the end.
"Scared of being left naked since you have been known as the Lycan prince’s omega? Damn, and here I thought you didn’t care about what position I held. Perhaps your true colors came out finally, hmm?" Tamiko laughed humorlessly and Kosta sighed.
He didn’t know what else he could do to convince Tamiko that they were on the same side. His betrayal had to have cut so deep, but what was Kosta meant to do anyway? He had tried to fight for what was his and he lost.
They had to try and understand what the hell this was doing for them because, at the of the day, Tamiko wouldn’t stay away from his humanity forever.
"But..." Kosta trailed off, getting Tamiko’s attention.
