Vengeance of The Broken Lycan Prince [BL] -
Chapter 213: It Was Irrelevant To People Like Him
Chapter 213: It Was Irrelevant To People Like Him
[KOSTA]
The evening was quite uneventful as the Lycan Chief did his very best to get ice from the shaka that was in his head. He was trying so hard to make it through. He was holding onto so many things at the moment and the thought of home lingered lazily.
Oh, in his head, it was different this time and Igor Konstantin wasn’t sure if he wanted to live through this particular pain. It hurt, and it made him feel suffocated.
He needed to make a run for the hills. However, he couldn’t even run as fast, because at the end of the hours, when the moon decided to light up the night sky, his thoughts would forever linger in the one place that screamed hope and repair at the same time.
It was crazy what life had been like for them. How life had turned out to be for him and all that he’d dear.
He had tried his best to be positive, but here and now, with his sidekick Akila, on their way to the craziest of bounties, Igor Konstantin could still feel the shattering sounds of his broken heart.
He had fallen in love with the brightest light for Kawai, a heart that lived to make lives better. A heart that was as tight as a fist in its home.
Oh, he had lived for that little moment and now the bubble was bound to pop and he didn’t even know where he stood in the middle of that madness. Perhaps he would find a way, but even if he did, where would the roads lead him this time then?
"Sire, are you alright?" Akila, the barbarian’s right hand asked when he noticed Igor had gone too silent. They had been bounty hunting the entire morning and were hit on the rail of their nest beauty.
It wasn’t that hard for them since they had worked together for years and years on end.
They had lived through the chaos and endured the worst of the worst. For all the years out there, they had never lost a bounty, and that had earned them the kind of reputation that no one would ever be able to put to book with ease.
It was always a gory experience and yet the both of them had always done their best to succeed in their adventures, however unhinged they got over time.
It wasn’t easy and life had proven tough for them with their team, but Akila and Igor had always found balance in the madness that had always surrounded them.
The Lycan Chief, however, had gotten a little too silent in the past few hours and it was worrying for the sidekick. This was unlike him and it was honestly upsetting to some scale.
Maybe the sun was different this time and that love was slowly finding meaning in the hurt that had long lived. Clearly, there was never going to be an easier way out of this, thus the ripples that were causing unrest across the realm.
In another life, perhaps, right?
"Of course, Akila," Igor reassured as he looked around them before adding, "Are we there yet?" It was something that didn’t scream so much and yet it sounded like the loudest call for help.
This was the Lycan Chief’s desire and hope.
Maybe it would be worth it in the long run, but would it really?
Akila looked at his master, the worry written all over his face for the man he trusted with his life.
For years they had always been a team, but today, they were just the two of them, something that Igor Konstantin never once did.
It was almost like he was trying to steer clear of any attention that would be directed towards him. It wasn’t that hard to tell what the fuck was going on, but Akila had hoped that the barbarian was alright.
So much had happened to the man and the announcement last evening was not something that had gone so well as what most of the Lycans had.
"You look down, sire. Is it because of Prince Kaito?" Akila asked gently like he was ire that the topic was a heavy one for the Lycan Chief. It was one that fate had forced on the man and that had so many blank spaces that were unattended.
It was almost like love and life wouldn’t ever get the balance at the moment but then what’s this about? He was running but there was only so far that the run would be because this war is never going to stop anytime soon.
Perhaps that was why Igor stared in confusion and worry, but then this was not even going to be any easier for him.
Then again, at the sound of his Lycan sidekick, Igor stopped in his tracks. It was like the world was spinning in a different direction and Kosta wasn’t sure which part of the life he had to do.
It was staring right back at him.
Maybe he was lost rapidly, and maybe he just needed to embrace the reality of what was bound to happen to him. Perhaps it was not the right time for the chaos or maybe it was just that at the end of the day, they had to embrace the truths that they had tried so hard to never speak of.
It was a lot for them and there was no denying that.
"Prince Kaito?" Igor asked curiously like he didn’t know why the man was talking about his Erasthai. It was a time that they had to embrace so many things, a time when shit was never going to be sane.
But at the same time, Prince Kaito was the love that Igor and sworn to live in for as long as the universe let him. He loved that prince; oh, he truly loved Kaito Hinata. He loved the boy with pretty black eyes and one who lived for so many people.
He loved the prettiest boy he had ever laid his eyes on and if the circumstances were different, Igor couldn’t help but think that they would have been an endgame. But had that already changed?
Was that how fast the times had changed for them or was this just another bout of happiness that he would never be free to express himself to?
"The announcement last evening... is it because of that?" Akila asked carefully. He knew how hard yesterday had been for his master. He had seen Igor in all sorts of states and he was then able to save his master.
It was like this was the one battle that the Lycan Chief had to fight for. It wasn’t supposed to be so complex and challenging. It wasn’t supposed to be so painful and devastating but it had been.
Oh, it had truly been the craziest of things that they had all seen last evening. The murders and not even being the highlight of the evening, no. It was the cry of a man that he loved for so long.
The pain of a man who had rescued them for their own pain one too many times. It was the helplessness that came with a position so unhinged and detached; a reality that they all had them trying to figure out the easiest way out to do the shit.
None of them had been successful this time, honestly, and to this moment, Akila wasn’t sure if there was a right or wrong. Kosta had been haunted for the night and he would have to hold on a little longer.
Perhaps it was because of the way that the evening had begun only to transpire into the most unhinged of evenings.
Hearts had been shattered that evening.
Minds had been boggled then, and more than anything, identities and been exposed, the kind that no one had expected. It was not normal and someone had to spell it out eventually.
Maybe they would when all was sorted and done.
When all felt more real than it all was right now. Maybe it would be the kind of chaos that caved in but that was not something that anyone could talk about so simply and daily. It was haunting so badly and it hurt as fuck.
"No, Akila. That is of no consequence," Igor insisted as if he hadn’t spent the night crying his heart out at how unfair the fates had been. The King may have brought him blankets to nest in, but Igor hadn’t used any of them.
He felt like he didn’t deserve any of that like it wasn’t something that he had to accept and that too from the King himself. It scared him a lot and it made him wonder what the King saw him as.
He had yearned for Tamiko’s touch, for his hold, and for his desire for the man. But even then, it never seemed to be the one thing that could be fixed back then.
And so, he had spent his night thinking of so many things, wishing that a lot could be undone, hoping that the skies would just open and the moon would see him. It was a daring night of so much pain and Igor hadn’t once healed from it.
Then again, while a part of him had expected that he would be outed. He hadn’t expected that it would be the one thing that could trigger his fear. Maybe he was scared of the monster he had seen in Tamiko last evening.
Tamiko was his light but then was that going to be the same for long?
"It is alright, you know," Akila began and Igor stared at him curiously.
