"You’re here for Daniel. He is my son’s best friend and while I don’t see the point in this official conversation, I have to do it, for my Kaito," King Zaffuto began as he stared at Alpha Ashton and his son, Gabriel Grealor.

The excitement that had once been on Gabe’s face had long disappeared thanks to the king’s command on his son. None of them had expected that the King would ever use that on the kid he had sworn to protect and love, and that in itself got everyone in line.

If the man could do that to his son, then there was no telling what he would do with them or to them, now that they were stinking of the race he despised with all of him.

"What do you mean your Kaito?" Alpha Ashton asked and Gabe stared at his father. He could see that Alpha Ashton was trying to piss off the King and that was not good for them.

Someone had to remind the alpha that they were not in Grealor where they could do whatever they wanted with Tamiko. It was dangerous and there was not a chance that things would ever get smoothed over as thought of.

Alpha Ashton had to think and fast because otherwise he would be dooming his people to a fate no one would ever save them from.

"My son... You may know him as Tamiko. But everyone knows him as Kaito Hinata, my son and the Lycan prince of Kawai," King Zaffuto said without even missing a beat. He sounded proud of his son who was staring at him in anger.

But that didn’t matter to the king, not right now because he had to smooth things over and make sure his son didn’t have anything to be worried about. Then again, for someone with such a vision, he was already doing a terrible job judging by the anger on his son’s face.

"I see. I still don’t understand what involvement the Lycan crown has with the Beta of Grealor. As it is, the Beta being here is a violation of the accords. No werewolf is to be taken without the approval of his Alpha.

"I certainly didn’t approve of the transfer nor did my son the reigning Alpha," Alpha Ashton said and once again, Gabe stared at his father. This was not the way to irk the king and they didn’t need to do this.

"Interesting. I was under the impression that your son let the Beta go without any strings attached. In fact, there were warriors who bore witness to the transition. If that is not the truth, then that means that the wolf is in Kawai without any officiation.

"And that makes him a rogue. You know what happens to werewolf rogues in Kawai, right? Much less the Lycan rogues in Kawai, no?" King Zaffuto asked and Danny felt chills running down his spine.

He had expected this. A part of him had known that he was just a pawn for the king and the realm and that he was here getting proven right. Oh, his fate was so fucked up there was never going to be a way for him to be free again.

This was probably the last day he would be alive if the King was serious about the factions, and the broken rules.

"You do what you must, your majesty. We are not going to account for any losses incurred because of him. If you release him back to us, he will still be murdered for treason, because you said he associates with your son.

"There are high chances that they exchanged information, making him a traitor to the Grealor pack. Whatever decision you make, Grealor will not object," Alpha Ashton said as he looked at Tamiko.

He had a smirk on his face, and the young prince was just staring at him blankly like he had other places to be. If anything, it was like he wasn’t even bothered by the security of Danny.

That was something that the young Grealor alpha had noticed too. It was like Tamiko suddenly didn’t care about Danny. Perhaps that’s why the father and son thought it would be easy to be rid of the Beta who would lead them into trouble.

"Are you sure about that decision, Alpha Ashton and Alpha Gabriel? Once this is sealed, there won’t be a chance for you to go back. Everything that happens to the kid will not be on you;

"... and it will also not be on Kawai, seeing as we have no need for a werewolf in our kingdom," King Zaffuto said, his tone cold like he truly didn’t give a shit about the young Beta wolf.

He was so cruel and even the way that he glanced at Danny Was like he was giving the man the look of doom. It was as if Danny was truly done for and he had made the mistake of coming to this side of the realm with Tamiko.

The young prince had remained stoic even then.

It was like he didn’t mind what his father was planning despite the fact that he had been so loud barely minutes ago. But the king’s command had pissed him off. Maybe that’s what had preoccupied Tamiko’s mind then, no?

"We are both certain," Alpha Ashton spoke and the King smiled for the first time as he looked at Danny. It was not creepy, but it was a genuine smile, something that scared Danny still.

The mad King was known for his cruel games, he was known for messing with everyone including his own son, so this was not as comforting to Danny as it should have been.

"Daniel. Looks like you are not wanted anywhere," King Zaffuto began, his tone soft, like he was addressing one of his sons. His voice was filled with warmth despite the fact that the decision had been made for Danny had been the cruelest of them all.

An execution was waiting back home in realtor and the Kawai kingdom was one that despised wolves.

He would never make it out alive. If he went rogue, he would be murdered in days since he was known to be Tamiko’s best friend and one of the key raisins as to why the Hanzos had been murdered.

The young wolf had made enemies even though he was still as powerless as anyone who had been in a position like his could ever be. He had been reduced to nothing and yet the King was still smiling at him.

He was staring at him fondly, and Danny was tempted to lean into the king’s kindness, but he knew better.

"Quite the fate I have, right? To forever stay unwanted and die at the hands of anyone who sees me first, like a bounty for all that could have led us to this point. But I have no regrets, Your Majesty.

"Whatever decision I made back then, I stand by it," Danny said in a steady voice even though he was shit scared. He knew he was doomed and that nothing could save him anymore. But then what else was he supposed to do?

"You have been good to my son, Daniel. So, I have an offer for you, but you can refuse and still, nothing will happen to you. That, I swear... in my honor."
