Chapter 197: What About All The Answers You Had?
[GREALOR]
"You don’t mean that. The Lycans will never let us live it out," Zakhar tried to reason.
He knew that this was dangerous no matter what angle they looked at it from. If Ciel went through with this, he would be hurt and it wasn’t even funny anymore.
The chaos was already here and with the Alpha’s sudden change of loyalties, there was nothing that could leave them all safe.
The only way out of this was for Ciel to back down, which didn’t seem like a good choice for the wolf, and that was very crazy and dangerously delirious.
"And they still won’t let us have our peace, even if we don’t fight back. We tortured Tamiko for twenty-five long years. His father might not be coming for us, but one thing that I know is that Tamiko is coming.
"It is no longer a matter of if. It is a matter of when. He already took the only person we could have leveraged on him with him to the dark lands. There is no escaping them and if siding with these damn Furfantes is the only way to get ahead of the Lycan for once, then I am willing to do it.
"The Furfantes succeeded twenty-five years ago and I have faith that they can succeed in what they put their minds to this time too," Cil explained determinedly.
He was not going to buy into the fear of the Lycans anymore. That race had taken the love of his life from him and he wasn’t about to forgive them just because the losses would be ruthless for Grealor.
Maybe that was determined by the pack that they had lived in, but there was an emptiness in Ciel that even a peaceful Grealor would never be able to fill. They hadn’t even let him be with his mate for a good time before he was snatched.
The fates were cruel to them and the Lycans had been handed the upper hand. That was the kind of thing that Ciel was not going to just sit by and watch. He refused to be complacent just because the Lycans were beasts and could kick their asses.
Ceil wanted revenge and he would side with whoever was going to give him that. Judd deserved better and he wasn’t going to compromise on that.
"What you are suggesting is pure suicide, Ciel," Maki said trying to explain to the ma the dangers of all this.
But then what did Ciel not know that they were trying to sell to him? If anything, for Ciel, this seemed to be the only way to deal with his pain, the one thing that was drowning him hopelessly.
He needed to find a way to stop his mind from raging all the time and hold himself back from the way that his heart was continuously getting shattered. He had never had peace since the day that Judd had been taken and he was sick of the assurances of a better future.
The moon goddess wasn’t doing anything to help him with his pain, so he would figure shit out on his own. If the others were not on board with it, then they could go fuck themselves. Ciel wasn’t going to back down. It was evident in his eyes.
"I can either wallow for the rest of my life as I miss my mat, or I can find a good channel for my rage, Maki. At the end of the day, it’s not like the results are going to be any different from what is coming for us.
"We just have to find a way to fit out vengeance in between," Ciel insisted as he reminded them of what was at stake for him.
He was going not to go crazy eventually because that was the curse that came with the loss of a mate, so he preferred to act out of the impulses he was feeling over silent sorrow because it had been a year since Judd had been murdered and no one had even done anything.
The memorial that had been set up for Judd wasn’t as cutting as it was intended because Ciel was in a lot of pain. He couldn’t breathe with ease back then. He wouldn’t even understand what the fuck was happening.
So, he had been unable to say his goodbyes properly. Then again, what was the proper way of saying goodbye to a soul that had been reduced to ashes in an instant?
"I don’t know what you guys think but I am with Ciel on this one," Zakhar said as he looked at Gabe and Maki who seemed to be deep in their throats.
Tides they had were destructive almost like a ticking time bomb, but at the time, their silence was not even making shit any better. They had to work things out, and they had to be fast enough.
Zakhar had thought about this for a while and when Ciel made the suggestion, even though Zakhar had been trying to stop him, they both knew that at the end of the day, there was a kind of loss and emptiness that was never going to be filled no matter how much time passed.
If anything, an eternity would always seem like hell and they knew it too well.
"It is a terrible idea, that one is a given. But what else can we do then? We have to figure out a way to fight back, and we are just er wolves against an army of the worst beasts in the realm. We are done for, just like Ciel said," Maki added after a short silence.
She had been trying to keep on the safe side, but there was never a thing safe about Grealor since Tamiko had left. Everything is in shambles and with Danny gone, their ages have been sealed.
Danny had been their only solace because they were sure that Tamiko wouldn’t hurt Danny. Then again, Tamiko had slaughtered the man’s family right before him.
It was the kind of fate that Danny had been too shocked to even say a word about and for months they had all watched the Beta suffer at the cemetery while his mother disappeared into her sorrows never to be found.
It was the pain that would never be better and now, Ciel understood Danny so damn well.
"Igor Konstantin can’t be kidnapped, guys. Let us just be rational. The man has been an omega from birth and he has been suppressing his scent only. Just his scent. The man is just as evil as he was before we all knew what he was born as.
"Surely you don’t want to run into that without knowing the scope of the danger, right?" Gabriel reasoned as he tried to stop them., he was slowly coming to terms with his father’s involvement with the Furfantes, and now he was back to the key thing that had gotten him here.
The Kawaian omega.
Going after the man was not the best of ideas because regardless of what state of mind Igor Konstantin was, he wouldn’t easily snap out of it. It was no secret to even his fellow warriors which was why Gabriel needed his friend to understand him too.
They were playing the rough game and they would be hurt, badly if they didn’t think this through.
"Tamiko is reason enough."
