Vengeance of The Broken Lycan Prince [BL] -
Chapter 196: The Triggers of The Mad Man’s Fury
Chapter 196: The Triggers of The Mad Man’s Fury
[GREALOR]
"Well, he can do it. If he is part of the Furfantes," Ciel added determinedly like he really believed in the Alpha and h group he had just mentioned.
His mate being murdered in cold blood was something Ciel had never forgotten and one that I would never forgive and if he had to be hopelessly hopeful, then that was what he would do.
He needed justice for his mate, the kind that wasn’t easy to get on the streets that were filled with people who were scared of the Lycan king and his high royals. It was the kind of truth that had forever haunted Ceil and he despised a lot of things because of that.
But perhaps this was his chance at a better life, right?
"What is that? This is the second time I have heard of that term," Gabe questioned curiously. For some reason the name itself made him wonder about so many things; like why there was so much faith in that group by his friends.
It was not just an obsession for that sort of surety. But would it ever be enough to balance the chaos between the Lycans and the werewolves?
Would the Furfantes make sure that life was a tad better or would they be the newest sponsors of the chaos that they had been running away from then?
"They are the four intelligent men who kidnapped the bastard heir of Kawai and murdered all the mothers and their unborn twenty-six years ago," Ciel responded coldly.
He held no remorse for the race that had taken the man he loved and she wasn’t about to pretend that it was all sunshine and rainbows this time. If there was a chance to get his vengeance, Ciel would take it without a doubt.
He wouldn’t stop to think of what seemed right and wrong at the time. His mate dying aimlessly was not something that he was ever going to make peace with and this right here was just the beginning of his evident fury against the Lycans.
"The massacre in those years was them?? And you think my father is a part of that?" Gabe wondered disbelievingly. There was just no way that his father was part of a cult. That was impossible.
Alpha Ashton seemed like the most rational of Alphas when it never came to Tamiko. He was always fighting for the people of Grealor, so it just did not make any sense that he would be part of a vigilante group.
The man was risking everyone’s life by being part of that group and once again, Gabe wondered what the fuck was going on in his father’s head.
The man had to have lost touch with his senses because this right here couldn’t be real, it had to be an accusation and his father could redeem himself, right? Oh, how desperate Gabe was for that hold, even just a little.
"It makes sense. These books talk of the werewolves being the key players in the massacre that year and they were suspected to have the kid. Only for Tamiko to grow up in Grealor with your father being a dad protective over him," Maki pointed out and Gabe could have sworn that they were delirious.
His denial was slowly becoming a thing for him and he hated how shit was becoming.
Perhaps he needed a break, but from who or what when the realm was slowly catching the drift by the father and son who had sworn nothing but rage and destruction for their foes?
"But still maybe he was given the prince in passing to confuse the realm?" Gabe found himself defending his father’s actions.
He was not ready to believe that his father the man he had loved growing up and the man he had looked up to all these years was cruel enough to take a child from its mother, and that too in the most gruesome of ways.
Gabriel had read about the queen of hearts and how she had lost her life over the years and frankly, his heart had bled for the woman and the other woman in that birthing hall. That massacre was so sudden that he had found himself wondering what could have truly triggered it.
The women were at their weakest and were defenseless. If they had wanted the kids they could have taken them all, but why murder the mothers and their nurses, not to mention all the kids that had just been born?
What the attackers had done all these years ago had made Gabe wonder if humanity was really a thing back then. It didn’t make him appeal to the fates for Zaffuto to forgive.
In fact, Gabe was on the side of the mad king and his decision to ruin everyone who had done horrendous acts to this queen and the helpless women back then.
However, here and now, learning that his father was probably part of that cruel team wasn’t making him feel any better. It got him wondering who the fuck his father was and if he truly was a monster that had done that to the women of Kawai.
"Your father is no saint, Gabe. Let’s not start thinking this is the savior of the realm when he is the reason we are stuck in this predicament," Zakhar stated the obvious. Anyone who knew Alpha Ashton knew what he would like most of the time and clearly what he was capable of.
Perhaps that’s why it was so easy for Zakhar to accept that the Alpha was probably part of the Furfantes, the cruelest and most vile of the realm’s villains. No one in their right mind would have ever wanted to see that kind of shit happen.
No one and yet they had pulled off the one thing that had scarred the realm so much so that the king himself had to step aside.
Of course, they all gotta learn that the king could have burned the realm to the ground to avenge the women of Kawai who had lost their lives in that massacre back then, but the man had exercised control.
Which was why this time, vengeance would be coming with a fury.
"He couldn’t have. He cares for his people," Gabe insisted and they just stared at him in disbelief. Then again they could blame him because every son always looked up to his father.
To Gabriel, alpha Ashton was a hero and would always be for the longest time.
So, their attempt to shatter that illusion was not going to work as fast as they were hoping for. And that too was understandable because Gabriel knew his father was a good man and there were people who knew his father as a monster of a kind.
"The man is power hungry. If Tamiko didn’t chop off his legs, he wouldn’t have willingly left the seat for you. He would have wanted to run Grealor on his own. Who knows, he never tried to beg Tamiko not to turn you into an omega the last time that damned outcast came here with a vengeance or did he?" Ciel remembered.
Gabe felt like they were twisting the blade that was already in his chest. That was a truth he had never wanted to think of and he refused to even imagine what it would be like for him.
No matter how complex the days had gotten and the nightmares he had had to deal with, Gabriel refused to believe that his father still had a hand in that. It wasn’t the kidney of fate.
How the hell was he supposed to make peace with the possibility that his father was part of the group he himself had despised for years because of how cruel they had been over the years then?
It wouldn’t make any sense then.
"He is not that bad," the young Alpha insisted, despite having seen for himself that his father was as bad as the spawn of the devil himself. Perhaps he just needed time to accept what he was being told this time, right?
Oh, how devastating that acceptance would be for Gabriel.
"Well, whatever lets you sleep. However just keep in mind that he is part of the Furfantes and that he left through a portal last evening, probably to Kawai since Tamiko coming out at the Lycan prince is definitely the worst part of their plan," Maki reminded harshly.
She was not about to soothe the young alpha when he himself was one of the demons himself.
Gabriel and his father truly deserved each other, but Maki wasn’t brave enough to spell that out of her mouth because at the end of the day, no matter how they were, they were friends.
They had to survive together otherwise their fate was headed for doom, and there wasn’t a soul in sight that would ever be able to save them from themselves regardless.
"Oh, goddess," Gabe defeatedly signed for the hundredth time in the little time they had. The reality of things was getting to him a little too fast and he was processing it all too slowly and he had to act fast. Maybe that was all he had to do this time, no?
"If they plan on relay kidnapping Igor Konstantin, I’ll help them. If that is the only way to bring justice to Judd. I won’t lag behind," Ciel said, his tone cold and calculated.
He despised the Lycans no doubt and he had every reason to, but then shouldn’t have been on that same page with Gabe and the other warriors who caused the rift and who had forced the realm into that state?
This was a dangerous road Ciel was shedding into and it was not going to end well.
"You don’t mean that. The Lycans will never let us live it out," Zakhar tried to reason.
