Chapter 195: I Am Not The Only Traveler
Chapter 195: I Am Not The Only Traveler
[GREALOR]
"Because he needs to remind everyone that his son is back and that he is coming for vengeance. It is the only reasonable excuse. Besides, the man wouldn’t go to that length just to terrorize the entire realm in one evening.
"He is unhinged," Gabe sighed like this wasn’t ever going to get better for them.
And on a different scale, it probably wouldn’t and they were painfully aware of that too. As long as the alpha was out there doing whatever the fuck he wanted and how he wanted to, they wouldn’t ever be able to get out of the chaos in peace.
That was the most grueling truth for the Alpha’s son. Maybe they would find a way to make it all better, but who was to say when shit got better for the rest of them then?
"Well, that is going to be interesting. What about Tamiko? Does he know about that?" Maki asked as she sat on the couch in Zakhar’s office.
She could see the mistress of her mate’s face and was demoted to say something comforting, but where Tamiko was involved, they had long learned that comfort was just a passing thing.
It never stayed because the devil’s son was always looming over them in one way or the other. Perhaps this was what they needed to embrace so that it would get better too, np?
"He probably doesn’t, but even if he knows, it isn’t like Tamiko cares about anyone like that. He only cares about burning Grealor to the ground, and he has always been vocal about it even in his cabin in the woods," Zakhar chipped in, his understanding of Tamiko’s game plays making a show.
He had seen the man.
He had bullied him as a boy and now the bastard was close to his father and doing whatever the fuck he willed himself to do.
The king would protect his son, everyone already knew that, judging by the way that he had even tried to stop the kid despite knowing so well what the consequences of eliminating them sisters would be.
It was crazy though, because regardless of what they had dealt with, the gray wolves would always find themselves in a different kind of trouble and many at times, as it revolved around the infamous house of Hinata in Kawai.
"Which makes what my father intends to do even more horrifying," Gabriel added as he thought back to his adamant father, a man who was probably about to walk into the troops of the Kawaian king himself.
He needed to be stopped and it was proving a lot harder with the way that he was decking with his son. Alpha Ashton was hopeless and was clinging to whatever was left of the life he used to live.
He needed a reminder that perhaps he didn’t have to break his back for things that would quite literally break his back and the backs of those that he cared for and held dear.
Whatever was happening needed to stop, and he needed to face the truth.
Was it that easy though?
"Don’t tell me he wants to sign up for the Lycan council now that they are all gone," Ciel, Judd’s mate, said as he walked into the Beta’s office and they all stared at him.
They were surprised, clearly expecting him everywhere else but right here. But then again, was it that big of a delay for the dead friend’s mate to pop up on them talking about the layers of his mate?
"You should be resting. This is not the time, Ciel," Maki pointed out the obvious. The man looked terrible. He looked like he had been through the worst of the worst and was still going through it with no one to help him.
His hair was a mess, his clothing was dirty, and his entire appearance was shoddy and heartbreaking. The man looked homeless for someone who held a higher position in the largest of werewolf packs in the realm.
He looked like shit and it wasn’t even a joke anymore. He needed to rest, but was Ciel going to do that just because they thought so for him?
"Judd is never coming back, Maki. No matter how long I mourn, I am never going to get my mate back. I have been angry for far too long and if this is a chance for us to make Tamiko pay the price for what his uncle did;
"... then I am in, without a doubt," Ciel spoke as he stared at them sadly as he sat on the couch next to Maki.
He knew why they were worried for him and rightfully so because he was grieving the loss of a mate that had been taken unlawfully for him.
His mate didn’t even get a chance at trial and he wasn’t even accused of anything, instead, he was a sacrifice that the Lycan Lord had decided was befitting for smoothing as delusional as Tamiko’s capture and insanity.
It was a cruel time for them and Ciel didn’t know how to deal with the grief.
He had mourned for months and months and yet to this day, his pain was constant. His eyes were still swollen from the long nights and days of crying endlessly for a mate that he knew was never going to come back.
And honestly, right now, all he needed was a distraction from the pain that had long consumed him. He wanted to feel something other than anger, rage, and denial. He needed a breather even if he was already suffocating without his mate.
He had to make it out alive, though.
"Worse. He wants to kidnap the Lycan prince’s omega," Gabe said and Ciel let out a lonely amused laugh. It was a strained one, the rider that his throat was always in agony from the growling he did when he was mourning his mate.
Oh, he had suffered so much for a mate that was taken for him barely days after the mating ceremony. It was a different kind of hell and he despised himself for not being able to protect that which he had loved and word.
Perhaps pain was his dose of sanity.
"The Lycan prince, as in the outcast of Grealor? That one?" Ciel asked in confirmation, his laughter never stopping, even when it was coupled with dry coughs that made it seem like Ciel was coughing blood.
Even that wouldn’t have stopped the man from laughing at the absurdity of the situation. This was not what life was supposed to be like and after eating each item, Tamiko and the Hinatas were driven to the realm where Grealor was an entire circus.
"Unfortunately, yes. The realm is already in shock to the point that no one in their right mind wants to cross the Lycans, and yetFatherr is so sure that he can best Tamiko. A part of him thinks he can kidnap Igor Konstantin and use him against Tamiko.
"In fact, he said it is the only way to make sure that Tamiko doesn’t come to burn down realtors," Gabe sarcastically quitted his father. The man had to have gone insane because what he was thinking of was not only possible but it was also a death wish for any normal person.
Grealor was already doomed to burn regardless and if his father went through with that line of thought, they would all be dead and gone before first light anyway.
"Well, he can do it. If he is part of the Furfantes."
