Chapter 194: A Dance of The Impossible Truths [2]
[GREALOR]
"No fucking way. That man looks nothing like an omega man. He looks like he has been in the business of killing forever and knows where to attack and how. I wouldn’t believe that the big bad unhinged Igor Konstantin is an omega. That would be crazy," Zakhar mused.
Of all the ironies he had expected when he heard of the Alpha’s insane plans for the pact and the realm no to mention Tamiko, Zakhar had expected it to be as unhinged as this., there was just no way that the man who had spread fear across the room was a mere omega.
Omegas were supposed to be weak little things that needed to be protected all the time.
Omegas were meant to be used and harassed by many, they were quite literally to do nothing in front of the realm and they were almost like the goddess’s apology for making the realm a huge place with so many unhinged people.
Omegas were the pesky weak and little things that anyone would have fun with. They were literally tools of pressure in a world and they never had a voice, let alone held high positions like the Lycan Chief.
That was absurd and Zakhar was willing to call the bluff on the great Igor Konstantin being one. That man was a horror and it was humiliating to even think of what the man had made Gabe and Zakhar go through over the years.
The worst of it all was then that Igor had tortured them for an entire right just because they had made Tamiko cry. The thought of that night still horrified Zakhar to this day.
But learning that they had all been forced into that by a mere image was worse humiliation than anything the realm had ever seen. Or maybe that was why Zakhar was determined to not believe the news he was getting from this best friend, right?
But then what was there for Gabe if he lied about a dangerous man like Igor Konstantin?
"And yet it is the truth," Gabe added in disgust and awe at the same time. The man wasn’t sure if he needed to be happy that Igor was an omega or disgusted that Tamiko had chosen an omega over him, an Alpha who could help him unite their races.
Even then, what races were they supposed to reunite when the wolves had been the main source of pain for Tamiko and his kin?
Was there ever going to be a salvation for the lot of them or was this just their chance at wondering what the fuck the world was made of for the hundredth time then?
"Well, in that case, we are fucked. If he was that powerful as an unmated omega if he managed to make the realm cower at the mention of his name almost like the mad king. Imagine what he will do now that he bears the mark of the crazy Tamiko," Zakhar said as he got up and began pacing too.
He didn’t quite understand what game the moon was playing with them and frankly, it wasn’t a vine guy. This was not what they had been willing to be subjected to, so it wasn’t the best of things right now.
Someone needed to say it was a prank or something because this was a thousand times crazy.
"Tell me about it. It is just a crazy day, man. And the worst part of all that happened there last evening was that the mad Tamiko revealed to everyone that he was the cyan prince," Gabe said and Zakhar stopped in his steps.
He needed to listen keenly because there was no way all this shit happened in a day. What life were they supposed to be living this time then? Where was the pause button? Where was the rip cord that could be pulled in such instances then?
Surely someone had to realize that there was only so much they could do like that out there right?
"He did what?" Zakhar questioned in disbelief.
"He was determined to see his omega and the only way to do that was to become one with himself. So, the Kawai kingdom knows they have the prince back, and he is raging," Gabe explained as his jealousy threatened to show.
He had always wished to have that kind of love, the one that would risk everything for him, he had known damn well that he would have protected his mate and saved him from evert, but then the fates just had to be the worst of the worst.
The pairing of him with Tamiko was a match that was literally made in hell because, after all that Gabe had done to Tamiko, there was just no way that the young Lycan would have wanted to stay with him, let alone stand the sight of him.
It was the most psychotic of setups and even now, Gabe was asking himself what the fuck had been the reason for his pairing with the boy he had broken himself.
"How the fuck do you know this information?" Zakhar asked because he could have sworn no one in their right mind would try to peddle information in the realm like that.
It was too sensitive and King Zaffuto wasn’t the most patient of men when it came to protecting that which he cared about. Surely there had to be a misunderstanding somewhere because this was not normal.
So much tragic news had been released into the air and it didn’t even make sense to anyone anymore.
What the fuck was this even meant to be like then?
"The king sent messengers across the realm with the memory letters. Each faction and pack had to get it regardless of whether they wanted it or not. That is how crazy that old Zaffuto is," Gabe said.
Zakhar could have worn them while living in Utopia.
There was just no way that this was real and yet at the same time, it was obviously as real as anything could get for the lot of them.
The mad king was known for his dark twisted games for fun and if this was just one for him, then there was never going to be a way for anyone who had wronged the Lycans of Kawai.
It wasn’t just about the mad king being hideous anymore. And it wasn’t about the entire race of beasts coming after them just because their king commanded them to. This was a fate that even the dead wouldn’t have wanted to live through.
"Why though?" Zakhar’s mate, Maki asked as she walked into the office to find two defeated best friends. Their faces were a mirror of the situation they were in and she couldn’t believe it too.
Granted, she hadn’t heard the entire story, but she could tell that it had something to do with the mad king. Zaffuto Hinata was the devil himself and Tamiko was his favorite child, a truth that had haunted Gabe since the first day he had learned of Tamiko’s true identity.
Maybe he had called the bluff years ago because no one had ever thought the king would ever snap out of his great depression.
But when he did, Gabe knew that he was never going to make it to the need of whatever was aiming for him in the hands of the cruelest and most evil of the goddess’s creation.
"Because he needs to remind everyone that his son is back and that he is coming for vengeance."
