Chapter 193: A Dance of The Impossible Truths [1]
[GREALOR]
"After Konstantin?" Zakhar asked in confusion before continuing, "What the fuck do you mean by after Konstantin?"
"Isn’t that what you were talking about when you mentioned decisions?" Gabe asked in equal confusion. He had been talking about the godfather’s insanity as it related to the barbarian of the realm, so he just didn’t understand what his best friend was on about.
"No. I meant that he is one of the Furfantes," Zakhar said with raised eyebrows. Someone was not making sense and right now he wasn’t sure if it wasn’t himself to his best friend. Either way, there had to be a path out of this confusion, no?
"Wait what the hell do you mean by that?" Zakhar added, trying to make sense of it all.
"Who the fuck ate the Furfantes, man?" Gabe asked.
"Wait, slow down. You go first and then I’ll talk next. It seems we have a misunderstanding right now," Zakhar said and Gabe knew that this was going to be a long morning.
Perhaps they would need tens of cups of coffee, even though deep down this kind of stress was even beyond a damn coffee cup.
If they didn’t sort this out as soon as possible they would be screwed over and not even the fates would have their backs to save them from the fury of the Lycan king. Hell was coming, and they had to pray for the fire that would ravage them.
Otherwise, they wouldn’t even have the time to spare from the chaos.
"Last evening, everyone felt the shift when the Lycan ministers were murdered by Tamiko," Gabe began as he walked to the window of Zakhar’s office.
It had a good view of Grealor and Gabe’s heart broke for the innocents in the pack who didn’t know what hell was coming for them. He could see the kids running around happily, ignorant of the demon that had just been released out there.
They didn’t have the slightest clue that their parents were part of the worst vengeance scheme that the realm had yet to see. They were happy, and as their laughter filled the Grealor air, Gabe couldn’t help but feel like he needed to be better for these people.
If not for their parents and Grealor, then for the innocent kids who had done nothing to anyone.
Then again, there was also the lingering thought that Tamiko had been yanked from his mother’s belly in a horrifying way that ended with pregnant mothers and their newborns being murdered that day.
The people who had committed such acts were the worst of the worst and Gabe couldn’t imagine watching the children on Grealor being ripped to pieces.
It was a sight that he wasn’t a brave knight to face and perhaps that was why she was scared of what Tamiko would do to the rest of the if he had managed to murder the council members of the Kawai kingdom.
The councilmen were supposed to be the best and the worst of the Lycans on both ends and yet Tamiko had managed to turn them into pudding just because he could. It was something that scared the hell out of Gabriel, even to this day.
He needed to save Grealor, but what if the people of Grealor couldn’t even be saved in the first place? What if it was his family’s fault that they were doomed then?
"The outcast did what now?" Zakhar wondered as he stared at Gabe with his jaw on the floor. The statement itself contained so many absurdities, and yet, Zakhar knew he would expect such a thing from Tamiko, the mad prince.
The outcast was not just an outcast and they had known it for the longest time. The man had been a lot of things back in Grealor and now that he had returned to his home he had started spreading doom.
Shit was really going down for real this time, and it was scary as fuck.
"Well, he murdered all the Lycan ministers because they trampled on Konstantin, who presented as an omega," Gabe added frustratedly as he had just realized that he was never truly ever going to belong to Tamiko Hinata.
This was unfair and it hurt at the same time too. However, at the same time, there was the fear of what would happen to Grealor if Tamiko decided to go the way he had dealt with the Lycan ministers.
All of this was dysfunctional on so many scales but then there was always a message on everything that Kaito Hinata did.
The lines between love and hate were forever invisible to Tamiko because of Grealor and now they were contemplating what they needed to do in the wake of the young Lycan’s rage. Would they ever make it out?
"Holy shit. He is crazy. Does he know what that means? Eliminating all the ministers like that? Does he even understand that he literally subjected everyone to the mad king’s single-handed and unchallenged rule?" Zakhar asked in disbelief, the dynamics of what had happened slowly dawning on him.
Without the ministry, the king was an all-powerful man. He would choose their assembly ministers or why would quite literally run the kingdom without taking advice from anyone.
This time, he wouldn’t have to worry about the ministers not approving what he did, or the ministers trying to make him understand what humanity was.
Tamiko had given his father absolute control and had managed to ruin the lives of several people at the same time, then again, wasn’t it they who had triggered the young Lycan prince?
If Tamiko hadn’t been pushed to so much hate and pain in Grealor, maybe he would have been open for a conversation, right? Maybe he would have tried to make them understand that his Kosta was a good person who deserves respect.
But then again, the boundaries had long been crossed when the concealment was determined to ruin the love of his life so this was not something that anyone could have managed to talk Tamiko out of.
"Apparently Konstantin was brought to trial and was supposed to die on his behalf and Tamiko fought. In the process, the entire Lycan kingdom learned that the barbarian that had bested the entire realm for years and years was an omega," Gabe continued, even though the things he was staring at were so unbelievable to him.
All of it just didn’t make any sense and the confusion was something there he was constantly getting wrapped into. Who the fuck even made such delusions? When the fuck had the lives been that drooped for them to be playing this kind of shitty game?
Then again, Gabe knew that there was always a fire in Tamiko, and for the hundredth time since his rejection, Gabe wished he was the one that Tamiko had chosen. He wished that the Lycan prince had had him and taken care of him.
No one had ever fought like that for Gabriel and he knew that if he hadn’t tried to fuck up the Lycan prince’s life, maybe they would have been living better lives. But then that was never going to happen for him anymore.
He was just another man on Tamiko’s long list of vengeance and that was the kind of shit that scared the shit out of Gabriel.
"No fucking way. That man looks nothing like an omega man."
