Chapter 191: The Return of The Furfantes

[KAWAI]

Sadako looked at his brother, and he knew that Zaffuto wasn’t about to relent so he had to agree to the proposal knowing so well that this was him saving the life of the Lycan Chief.

Funny how calm the wild King had been all that time and now he got to decide on what change he needed to make. Maybe he had lost his mind as the king, but then they had more pressing matters at the moment,

"They are back," King Zaffuto said and Lord Sadako looked at him in confusion. His brother’s statement left so much to the imagination and Lord Sadako was honestly not to be in the mood to play games with him.

The kingdom was already in shambles and without a council, People were going to be worried about Kawai becoming a dictatorship again. It was that simple and complicated at the same time and frankly, it was a time that scared the hell out of the Lycans of Kawai rightfully.

"Who are they? It’s already bad enough that we have to deal with a whiny omega who doesn’t know the difference between power and submission. What did you do this time?" Lord Sadako asked and King Zaffuto raised his hands in surrender.

He could see the way that his brother was upset and honestly, it was worth paying attention to. The kingdom of Kawai did owe the Lycan Lord so much that they wouldn’t be able to understand in just one day.

So much had happened and in all of that, the Lycan Lord had one right there in the middle doing the kingdom the greatest of all favors.

"The Furfantes. They came back months ago when I left Kawai and then left again, I just didn’t think they would show up again," King Zaffuto said casually as he walked alongside his brother around the palace.

It was like they were talking about the list of subjects when in reality they were discussing the craziest of things ever. The Furfantes were the chaos masters of Kawai; the people who had been the masterminds of what Kawai had turned into.

They were the main suspects of the massacre twenty-six years ago and King Zaffuto had been looking out for them. He had gotten a whiff of one of the Furfantes when he was parading around as Toshiro and he hoped to the goddess that he had been hallucinating.

However, time had once again proven to him that hallucinations were never going to be a thing for him and that someone in this palace was really determined to bring down the Lycan kingship.

Maybe it was the mad King they were targeting to the point that life had become a greedy mess for them, but, maybe this was just another day that they would have to work through and try making shit right. Would it ever matter to them though?

"They already know about Tamiko... which means the kid is in danger, fuck," Lord Sadako said and the King just smiled at him sheepishly. It was almost like he didn’t notice the immediate danger that his own son was in at the moment.

That was seen on so many scales and regardless of what happened it just wasn’t supposed to come out at this moment.

"You worry too much," King Zaffuto said and Lord Sadako stared at the man like he had lost his mind.

"Me? Are you sure?" Lord Sadako asked and the King just smiled.

"No one will hurt him. No one, Sadako. My little angel has been through enough shit already, and he won’t be hurt again. Even the Lycan Chief has only one option. To love my son. I don’t care if he finds it hard to commit.

"As long as he bears my son’s mark, he belongs to Tamiko. He can try to fight it, but I will make sure my son doesn’t shed a tear because of anyone ever again," King Zaffuto said with a sinister smile.

Lord Sadako was tempted to call the bluff, but he knew the King would never joke when it came to his son. The young prince was his father’s everything and hell would freeze over if he let anyone hurt him.

Then again, the King had just made his stance, which meant that no one would live to see the next minute if they so much as hurt the young prince, and frankly, Lord Sadako was glad for that.

He had wanted the kid to suffer one too many times. He had seen the way the kid had struggled in Grealor and that wasn’t a fate he was going to let his son back into. He would fight for the kid too, and they would win.

All of them regardless of what happened to the lot of them. Or, maybe they really had lost their minds, right?

"Looks like I have my work cut out for me, don’t I?" Lord Sadako said and the King just smiled sincerely this time. They would make sure the realm knew what was happening if they didn’t already know.

They would see to it that the sun would rise in the direction that Kaito Hinata willed it; if the stars were against that, then King Zaffuto would pluck the stars from the sky and see to it that his son got what he wanted.

He was a dangerous king, but more than anything, Zaffuto Hinata was a dangerous father. He wouldn’t stop until he got what he wanted, which right now, was his son’s safety and happiness.

And he would get it, come hell, or high water. And he was both of those elements.

Oh, Zaffuto Hinata.

"We all do. Looks like I’m going to have to address the people soon. Make sure to get through to the kid and let me know alright," Zaffuto said and his brother just nodded. To Hear that walked the three kingdoms, looking to see what was happening.

It was almost like they had a few expectations but then the longer they walked around, the more they realized that there was so much peace and quiet around. The kingdom that had always been buzzing with life even on bad days was completely silent.

And it was unsettling.

"They make us seem like monsters," King Zaffuto said when they were on their way back.

They could feel the eyes from the windows of the Kawai houses. But then they couldn’t say much about that because, at the end of the day, the Kawai citizens were at liberty to decide what they wanted to do with their days as long as the kingdom was functioning well.

Maybe the life that they had hoped for was never going to sin because of the way that the King and his son were back. But what if Kaito Hinata was the hope that they had all been waiting for?

What if the son was better than the father and had a heart of gold that his father never had in the first place? Would it be right for them to make assumptions like that then? It wasn’t going to be easy but they had to keep trying.

They had to because otherwise, they would have nothing.

"They are scared, and they should be. Some of them played a role in the kidnap of the Lycan prince. I am never forgiving them for that," Lord Sadako said angrily, his rage making a show like never before.

King Zaffuto stilled.
