Chapter 179: Be My Help... Be My Savior [1]
[KAWAI]
"Are you really asking me that, Inara? Are you sure the conditions aren’t clear enough for you or do you want me to pry into your head now that you are weak and figure out where your dear family is? Maybe that will be enough motivation for you?" Tamiko asked casually.
Minister Inara stilled.
Each time that Tamiko spoke, the woman felt like a lifeline was deducted from her immortality spell. It was like the kid just didn’t care anymore and that terrified her on a really different scale too.
The kid was a little too daring for someone who had no one this side of the realm other than his erasthai who was currently chained up.
Kosta was staring in surprise, clearly not having expected that Tamiko would have gone this wild for his sake.
"He is insane."
"How dare he?"
"What kind of a kid is he?"
"Does he know the power in this room?"
"You talk too much and give no responses. So, I will make you an offer. I will let your Inara go, and you will let my Kosta go. If you so much as look at him in the wrong way, I will have our heads and I am not worried about mine, like I already mentioned before.
"You and I know it. As for the punishment for your dear Hanzo, I’ll take that sentence. If it is death, it is mine to deal with. Not my erasthai. Never my Kosta. So be quick and release the bonds you have on him or so help me;
"... I will kill all of you," Tamiko offered with a smile and Inara felt her stomach churn at the simplicity that the kid was talking with. It was almost like life and death never really meant shit to him, which was the strangest thing ever.
The last person they had all known didn’t care that much was right there in this room, staring at them amusingly like this was some sort of a circus. Well, it probably was because the Lycan king was so bothered by what was happening.
"He is definitely insane," the council members said as they looked at him closely.
If they had wanted a kid they could manipulate, then they would have not threatened his erasthai. They shouldn’t have made him feel like he had to choose between the love of his life and a kingdom that meant nothing to him at that moment, right?
"Decide fast. I have better things to do than be here with you a lot," Tamiko stated, even though he was scared of what they would do to his erasthai. Tamiko wasn’t going to lose Kosta, but he was scared of what they would do to the both of them.
Of course, he wasn’t about to show the council that he was that scared. He had to stay brave and it was a good thing that he had mastered the art of pretending throughout his years in Grealor, right? Oh, this was going to be a long day for them.
"What?" the councilmen wondered as they tried to gauge what the fuck the kid was on about. Maybe they were having way too much fun too but then what could they do when in the past years there had never been any unhinged cases like this?
The council members looked at Inara and then at Hyou who was still trying to negotiate with the young Lycan. It was something so delicate and of the age of Tamiko then it would mean that they had no control of their people.
Who didn’t send the right message to the people of Kawai?
Especially with the Lycans who were out there.
"Don’t... please, my soul," Kosta said and Tamiko looked at his erasthai with a sad smile. He could see that this was never going to be easy and that life was challenging in every aspect.
However, Tamiko also knew that some things had to be done however hard they were or could get. It was the end that mattered what the councilmen were thinking of right now.
"The decision has been made," Minister Hyou said as he looked at Inara, his face blank and Inara felt like her world was going to topple upside down. Surely the council had not made the worst decision this time, right?
"Great, what is it?" Tamiko asked, ready to give them what they wanted as long as they felt his Kosta be. Oh, but the Lycan chief was clearly the greatest strength and weakness for the young Lycan prince and this was the ultimate test of their love and loyalty to each other.
"You will let Minister Inara go, and we will let you out of this room without harming you. But you will be detained for daring to harm a minister of the royal court. Your Erasthai’s sentence still stands as a man is only as good as his word.
"He will not be pardoned and that is a truth you must live with, young Lycan. Chief Konstantin will die a slow and agonizing death, today, and you will be freed only when he is dead so you can spend the rest of your life as a mateless Lycan in the kingdom.
"You will probably run mad in a few years after your Kosta’s demise and that will be the justice for the house of Hanzo," Minister Hyou declared.
Tamiko stared at him in shock. He should have expected the decision and insistence, but then again, Tamiko had been considering that his father would help. However, the king was just watching in silence like this didn’t mean shit to him.
Oh, he was a piece of work.
In Tamiko’s hesitation, the young Lycan felt himself suddenly chained and bound even worse than his erasthai had been.
He realized that regardless of what happened along the way, his father had yet to say anything, which surname because he could have sworn his father had the power to overturn the decision that the councilmen were making.
It was cruel but what was even crueler was the way that lord Sadako himself didn’t say a word. What the hell was wrong with the both of them this time then?
"You should have saved me sooner you little shit," Minister Inara said to Minister Hyou who just stared at her with a sinister smirk on his face.
He had had the ensign of the woman and frankly, if there was a chance to leave her in the hands of those who would hurt her, then he would have.
But right now, the council members wouldn’t have allowed that to happen, which was also why they had made the choice to save Inara and teach the mates a lesson.
"And miss the way that you were pleading with your eyes? Never," Minister Hyou said and Inara smacked his arm lightly.
Well, she was glad she was safe, and now, her garage was turned toward Tamiko, the boy who had done what no one in their right mind had ever done. He was a daring Lycan for a rogue and it wasn’t making any sense.
This, all of this, was just unhinged and there wasn’t a valid explanation for it all because, at the end of the day, no one understood the aspects of what had been happening even to this point.
"Guards! Drag them both outside!"
