Chapter 178: Sword From The Grueling Stone

[KAWAI]

"You stupid little Lycan. Are you sure you want to do that? If you kill me then the wolf will die too. The Lycans won’t forgive you and they will do whatever it takes to ruin you and everyone you ever met," minister Inara said with a chuckle despite the life-threatening position she was in.

She wasn’t scared of Tamiko and that should have worried Tamiko. However, as someone who had dealt with smug-looking people all the time, Tamiko knew that his woman loved the thrill of being in this position.

It was probably her way of getting a higher position like being a Lycan chief if Igor Konstantin was taken out. It was a political move and Inara had been agitating him on purpose. Oh, this was crazy and insane, but what else was there to be done?

"Everyone has their fate, Minister Inara. Everyone. And if the fate of my friends and the apple they have met lies at this moment, then trust me, I won’t change it. We can chat about it in the afterlife, and enjoy beer and bunnies while at it.

"We would have quite the reunion; you see. Given there wouldn’t be any rules to keep us hooked to anything. But now you know that I am the Grealor outcast, but surely you don’t think I was the outcast;

"... just because I was their slave who was bullied right?" Tamiko stated casually as his hold on the woman’s neck tightened. He was not going to relent, not until they let his Kosta go.

He wouldn’t sit and he wouldn’t sacrifice the love of his life for anyone, not even the politically motivated assholes who were determined to ruin his life and that of the people he cared about.

He would fight for them, and he would make sure that Kosta survived this. Tamiko was fine with paying the price of what he had done, but he was never going to be fine with his erasthai being disrespected and hurt because of him.

This was the kind of humiliation that Kosta would probably never come out of, but did that even really matter to Kosta right now?

Was it about his reputation or was it about his erasthai, the beautiful mate the goddess had given him that night under the blue skies and the sad little moon that had been showing at the time?

"He made his choice, young Tamiko. We cannot change that," Minister Hyou said, trying to make it make sense for the Lycan prince. He knew that this could take a risky wild turn and that the sign could be so mad at them that he would probably take them out.

Minister Hyou was trying to be reasonable with the young wild Lycan, but Tamiko was not going to listen to all that bullshit.

He wasn’t going to accept that decision that Erasthai had made, because it hurt that Kosta had trusted him, then again, he knew that if Kosta had told him the truth, then they would have still taken him.

The Lycans were a complicated bunch, but what Tamiko wanted was his erasthai. Surely that wasn’t so hard, right? Then again, he refused to believe that Kosta had wanted this.

’Made his choice?’ What a bunch of lies that the high-borns had made to manipulate his sweet erasthai into this shitshow. They had to have totally manipulated his mate and made Kosta feel like Tamiko was being threatened.

That was the only possible reason and Tamiko would not forgive such impudence. He wouldn’t sit back and watch this madness unfold just because he was arguing and he had no official social standing among them.

He could stomach the idea of his erasthai leaving him, and maybe he was crazy for that, but what else was there for him to do then?

"Murdering Lucyna chief is the stupidest thing you have ever come up with. The Lycans won’t march to hell for me, but they sure as hell will march for him, for my Kosta. Hanzo is obviously a dick and yet the sky can be out there protecting his murder.

"What do you think they will do to you when they realize that you were the ones who saved a rogue and eliminated their most efficient bounty hunter and a Lycan chief whose entire life has even been dedicated to the good in Kawai then?" Tamiko challenged.

He knew that these politicians cared more about how they looked to the people of Kawai and their positions than anything that was just and unjust. If it made them look good, they would go for it, and it was an unfortunate truth, but none of that would save Kosta.

Tamiko would make sure his erasthai was okay.

"You strike a hard bargain, young Lycan," Minister Hyou said and Tamiko just shrugged while Kosta stared in shock and surprise. He hadn’t known that Tamiko would go this far for him and honestly, it tugged at his heart.

He felt loved and wanted. He felt like he was worth fighting for. And as Tamiko smiled at him, Kosta knew that Tamiko would never let anything happen to him, just like he wouldn’t let shit happen to him. So, what the fuck was going to happen now?

"And yet it does seem to me that we are communicating better than before, mister Hyou," Tamiko said with a chuckle as he looked at the Lycan Minister. He knew that this was an act that the councilmen would never forgive.

However, Tamiko wasn’t there to be forgiven by anyone. He wasn’t there to be shown mercy either, so he wasn’t looking forward to anything like that. Lord Sadako looked like he wanted to say something, but the king raised a hand and stopped him.

That simple gesture got the councilmen gasping lightly as they stared at the king who was now looking in the direction of his adamant son.

King Zaffuto hadn’t moved but right now as he looked at his son, he could see a younger version of him and it pleased him. For someone who was in danger, his son was holding on well.

He didn’t even seem to be the least bit bothered by that little possibility that he would be ruined, no. As long as Kosta was alive, Tamiko would do whatever they wanted. Anything.

"What the fuck do you want?" Minister Inara asked when he felt the pressure Tamiko was putting on her to make her lose her breath. Tamiko wasn’t playing about eliminating her and she was feeling it to the core.

She knew that there was something in the young Luna’s eyes, a determination that was dangerous and one that could bring the kingdom down.

She had dared to mess with the wrong Lycan and frankly, while she wouldn’t be admitting that out loud, Inara was slowly following her lesson.

At that moment, she was slowly suffocating and Tamiko was just smiling sheepishly at everyone in the room like that was the only thing could do to listen to him. But what were the chances that they listened to him?

"Are you really asking me that, Inara? Are you sure the conditions aren’t clear enough for you or do you want me to pry into your head now that you are weak and figure out where your dear family is?

"Maybe that will be enough motivation for you?" Tamiko asked casually and Minister Inara stilled.
