Vengeance of The Broken Lycan Prince [BL] -

Chapter 166: Relationships... Take Effort
[KAWAI]
Kawai was burning.
The rage was evident in how the Lycans responded to the king’s announcement of Hanzo’s death. What had been a warning; a reminder of who the king was and had been had been gotten clear by the people of Kawai.
The message lingered in the air, the warnings so harsh that everyone knew that there were bound to be consequences. And yet the morning that followed was filled with riots and the stench of burning coal as the opposing Lycans made their stance on what the king had done.
Maybe it was because they thought the king had grown weak, or maybe it was because they just didn’t understand why the Lycan king had gone that far for a rogue that didn’t mean anything to the Lycan kingdom.
It was a dare towards the king; a challenge of what was and what was bound, a reminder that at the end of the day, there were rules to be followed, and rules that the king himself had set.
So, would the mighty Lycan king abide by the laws of his crafting or would he keep his insistence on the chaos that would ensue?
"Oh, my goodness," Danny sighed as he watched the Lycans shouting in the distance. They had steered clear of the palace like that was the one part of the kingdom that they knew was the most dangerous.
They were not looking to oust the mad king, because they knew what that would mean to their people, however, they were looking to get answers, answers that the king himself had not given them.
Everything had been so vague and underestimated and it didn’t look good on any scale.
"I never thought I would ever be the reason for a riot," Tamiko whispered as he looked at the mess too. The Lycans were dangerous creatures, too dangerous and violent but right now, they were shouting, asking the right questions.
Tamiko was tempted to self-sacrifice, but his father had told him not to. He had promised the mad king that he would let everything be. Tamiko had promised his father that he would wait and see what the king did and that he was a good son.
He had promised to accept his father’s protection, which was more than he had ever thrust possible.
If it had been any other day, Tamiko would have chosen to leave because it was clear they didn’t want him, but with his father’s backing, the young prince was not leaving again. This was his home and his father was sure of that.
His father would see to it that he was okay. That much Tamiko trusted.
"He is just protecting what he loves the most," Kosta said as he walked up to the two friends. He had left earlier to go and meet with the king and the council and he had just come back, much to Tamiko’s relief.
"Still, this is wild and very new to me," Tamiko admitted in earnest.
He wanted to be glad that his father was standing up for him but at the same time, he was scared of what this would truly mean for them. It was like the world was going round and round and they were just parts of a wheel that didn’t know what to stop.
Would it be that bad though?
"Don’t worry about anything. We’re expecting breakfast. Wash up and join us there, both of you," Kosta said as he kissed Tamiko’s forehead gently. He then proceeded to leave the two of them as he was heading back to his duties.
"I don’t think we will ever get used to this," Danny said, his eyes still focused on the rioting Lycans. No one ever told Danny that Lycans were ever capable of rioting. They were people who were known for their organization and their ability to get what they wanted.
For years there had never been any riots in Kawai.
Sure, there are complaints about other things but there has never once been a full-blown riot like right now. Perhaps it was the one thing that the duo needed to embrace because clearly, the change that was coming in Kawai would need a lot more than just brevity and wits.
"Let us let the adults handle that, Danny. Besides, we are new to the land and its customs. The least we can do is dare to hope that all will be well for us," Tamiko reassured and said that he trusted his father to make things right.
It wouldn’t matter how long it took or even how hard sometimes it all got because, at the end of the day, they were not alone. That was the one thing this father, uncle, and mate had drilled into his head one too many items since the first time he had stepped foot into Kawai.
Perhaps it was the best of things that Tamiko was understanding this time.
"Alright then. Still gives me chills though," Danny said.
Tamiko let out a light chuckle before he and Danny went to clean up. The Lycan chief had shown them where to clean up previously. They were using the rear exit to the room, seeing as they couldn’t walk right through the fort door either way.
At first, Tamiko had been suspicious, because Kosta was never the kind to make things that complicated. The Lycan chief always wanted what was best for Tamiko and it was pretty obvious that he would give the kid what he wanted and more.
The suite that Tamiko shared with Kosta had a washroom in it, and yet Kosta had insisted that they use the private one, which was strange because Tamiko could have sworn that he had been to that room before.
"Well, holy shit what the fuck?" Dany asked as they walked into the room that wasn’t lit up. They were using their Lycan and werewolf sights and boy was it impressive. Even in the dark, the room was what anyone would consider perfect.
It looked like it belonged to a high-born, a place where only power and royalty resided, which was somewhat strange because Tamiko could have sworn that the last time he had been here, there had been no mention of that.
"It’s one of the storage rooms," Tamiko said, as they walked around careful not to turn on the lights or even try the wires.
It was a protected area nonetheless and with the way that there was too much magic in here, Tamiko could tell that this was the one place that would reject any and all magic that didn’t belong.
And yet as he and his best friend stood there awed by the sheer magnificence of the place they hadn’t even raised that this was not just a storage room.
"Damn, it doesn’t look like that. Wanna check it out? We still have a few minutes before breakfast that we can spar," Danny suggested.
"Absolutely, might as well explore since we’re here," Tamiko said and they high-fived before they began their exploration. The room was a suite, a magnificent one, Tamiko had noticed. It was filled with treasures and not just any treasures.
It was filled with treasures that screamed something else, something that he had not been able to see the last time he was here, perhaps because his uncle had made sure to cast a blinding spell so he wouldn’t pay too much attention.
But now that he did, Tamiko choked back his tears.
This was the Lycan prince’s chambers.
