Vengeance of The Broken Lycan Prince [BL]
Chapter 159: A Love That Knew No Bounds

Chapter 159: A Love That Knew No Bounds

[KAWAI]

Listening to Kosta made Tamiko feel like this was a dream entirely. It was impossible for his life to have changed this fast, and yet as he sat there in the room they shared, Tamiko knew that the Lycan chief was being honest with him.

He had seen for himself the lengths to which the trio was willing to go to just to see his smile. He was certain about Danny coming along and he had expected his father to deny entry for a werewolf in his home and yet King Zaffuto hadn’t once questioned it.

It was almost like it was a non-issue when in a real sense, Zaffuto Hinata despised wolves. The wolves had taken something that had been his and his happiness.

The wolves had ruined everything he had and he wouldn’t ever stop until he eliminated the wolves.

However, at the same time, the fact that Danny, a wolf, had been there for his son through the years in exile had given Zaffuto another perspective on what the wolves could be.

Danny was the reminder that the king had needed to knit that perhaps not all wolves are vile and wretched. So, he wouldn’t eliminate an entire race, just because Danny had been kinder to his son.

Daniel Belova had saved an entire race without knowing, but maybe that was the only way for there to be a balance in the realm.

"But what if they think Danny and I are a liability?" Tamiko asked earnestly. He appreciated the way that the trio was willing to step up for him but he also had to be objective with his thinking.

He wasn’t a kid anymore and he knew that with power came so many sacrifices. With power, there were people in the shadows who would want to see them fail and clearly Hanzo Senior was already on that bandwagon.

Tamiko had made an enemy of his first day home and it wasn’t something that he could just shake off just because he had the best protectors out there.

"Honestly, you being alive is all that we live and fight for. I will give up my life for you because you are my erasthai. But your father and Lord Sadako, they changed since knowing that you didn’t die or perish like the wolves hurt our queen Liana.

"Your coming back was the hope that we all needed desperately because without that hope, Kawai would have gone back to the dark ages. The king would have never been the same and Lycans would have had to seek asylum elsewhere.

"But you lived and I can’t even begin to be thankful for that enough times. You saved an entire race, my soul, and we will forever be grateful for that. If anyone does this shit with you, then they’ll have to deal with the mad king himself;

"... and I can promise you that the mad king and your father are definitely two different sides of the same coin," Kosta said and Tamiko sighed.

He had been attentive to his father all this time, and even thigh deep down he cared for the king, he was still angry that it had taken the man so long he even loved the fact that the king hadn’t tried to pressure him into accepting who he was and all that shit.

His father had been patient and Tamiko was thankful for that because honestly, he couldn’t imagine coming home just to be handed more responsibilities without even having to take a breather. Funny how on the first day back officially he was already in trouble.

"What will happen to me now?" Tamiko asked earnestly.

"Nothing. Hanzo took matters into his own hands which is against the laws of kawaii since he is not Lord Sadako, me, or the king. So, nothing will happen to you legally. But I have a feeling that Hanzo will start plotting.

"Don’t worry though, you won’t be harmed. Just keep being yourself and having fun," Kosta reassured and Tamiko wondered if this was a good position.

He had been pushed to a different spectrum, but just this time, he would let them do what they wanted. He would let them stand up for him. He would let them deal with the matter on their own.

"What about father... did he... does he know what Hanzo did?" Tamiko asked. He hated that this had to happen but at the same time, he had no regrets for defending Danny because if he had to do it again, he would have done the same.

If Kosta hadn’t shown up at the time he did, Tamiko would have killed Hanzo. It was a deep dark desire that he had almost given into and Koata had saved him from it.

Granted, Kosta didn’t know that, or maybe Kosta knew that which was why he had chipped in. All that had happened so fast that Tamiko hadn’t even processed what had taken place at the time. But now, he had to turn and be rational.

"My beautiful..." Kosta trailed off.

"Just tell me. Did he go after Hanzo?" Tamiko asked his question so neutrally that it got Kosta looking at the young prince with questioning eyes. It was almost like Tamiko’s statement had no hitch to it, and at the same time, it had more than enough.

"Do you want him to?" Kosta asked carefully. He knew the king would respect whatever decision his son made and Kosta wanted to see what it was that Tamiko would decide now that he had all the power to decide a person’s fate.

"What? Me? I have no influence on the kingship of Kawai," Tamiko said even though his words were foreign to his ears.

He knew so damn well that he was right at the center. If he hadn’t kept the distance between himself and his father, his father would have decided the fates of everyone depending on what Tamiko was feeling.

Sure, it was a dangerous kind of power, but what else was there for the both of them when they had been apart for years and King Zaffuto Hinata was a man filled with regrets for the way he hadn’t even been able to save his dearest son then?

"Even then, would you want him to do anything? The mad king is your father at the end of the day. He loves being your father more than he loves being the king of the Kawai kingdom, my beautiful.

"You could ask him to step down and he would do it without so much as a second thought or even the opinions of the council," Kosta said earnestly.

He knew Tamiko had to have known that too, but perhaps the young prince was in denial; it wasn’t easy to be the prince of such a powerful kingdom and the favorite son of the worst of all Lycans out there.

Tamiko knew his father was the worst devil and that he was the only light that his father saw, but still, what would he want his father to do to Hanzo Senior?

"He can’t do anything to him. Hanzo is a high council member and I am just a rogue Lycan fortunate enough to be mated to a Lycan chief. I am not even a former member of Kawai.

"If father acts on what Hanzo did, he would be discrediting himself," Tamiko said worriedly, and Kosta smiled at him. It was interesting to know that even though Tamiko was defiant to his father, he still cared about him that much.

Kosta could tell that this wasn’t the time for all that, but he appreciated his erasthai line of thinking. It was the kind that made him thank the goddess for such an understanding mate, even though there was a challenge with the king.

"You worry too much, dusha. Your father can handle himself. The king or not, his majesty is capable of doing whatever is needed regardless of how shit goes. There is no reason for you to worry about it," Kosta said and this time Tamiko was the one staring.

"I know, but like you said he is still my father. I won’t admit that to his face. I just don’t want to cause disruption in the Kawai system just because I showed up and have some apparent privileges," Tamiko said in earnest.

"I love you," was all Kosta could say as he marveled at the mate he was given. Oh, he was a beautiful royal with brains and one who was responsible. Sure, for now, it didn’t seem like such a big deal, but Kosta was glad that Tamiko had turned out to be like this.

He was a prince in the real sense, there was no denying it.
