Chapter 156: Of Retaliating Unhinged Fates

[KAWAI]

The news of what Tamiko had done to Hanzo spread like wildfire.

The Lycans are antsier than ever, and they were scared for the sake of Tamiko himself. It was like they knew that there were just some rules that couldn’t be bent, and one of them was Lycans killing Lycans.

King Zaffuto despised that possibility. He hated the fact that his people killing each other could create animosity and he had long declared that no life was to be taken. And now, his son had taken the life of another Lycan.

Would the big bad king have a thing to say about that or would he pretend like Hanzo wasn’t as important as his son and let the young Lycan free?

"We are getting so many stares, Tamiko. Are you sure it’s a good idea that we are here given what happened at the breakfast table earlier today?" As he looked at his best friend, Tamiko understood Danny’s worries.

They had barely been here for a day and there was already chaos. But Tamiko didn’t care about that. Hanzo had been the trigger for this and if there was a punishment that was waiting for him then he would take it in with pride.

He didn’t care that his father would probably be disappointed or that his uncle would be worried sick for him along with his erasthai. What he had done was self-defense and there were witnesses.

"Who the fuck murdered my son?!" a voice that Tamiko presumed to be Hanzo senior’s ripped through the air as the Lycans pushed themselves away from the scene of the crime.

They didn’t want to be involved in this because they had lost here more than once and this wasn’t the day or even the time for that. It didn’t matter how long this would be because at the end of the day what mattered was harmony.

But then that didn’t seem to be the kind that they needed right now. Blood had been spilled and there was a chance that there would be a demand for blood too. Even with that at the back of his kind, Tamiko didn’t give a shit about all of this.

"Go to the palace. Wait for me there. No one will hurt you when you’re inside the palace unless they want to answer to the king. I’ll come for you as soon as this is over, now go!" Tamiko said to Danny as he opened a portal to the Kawai palace.

He wasn’t entirely sure that Danny would be safer there but he knew that compared to being the only wolf in Kawai and outside the place that damned palace was a better bet for his brother’s safety.

Tamiko hadn’t gotten Danny from Grealor just to come and subject him to a different kind of pain. His brother had already lost enough in his hands, and he refused to be the reason Danny got hurt again. He would protect Baby even if he had to do it with his life.

"What about you? You’re still new here. You can’t fight them all alone. Let me fight beside you, little brother," Danny pleaded as he stored at the portal that was right in front of him.

He knew Tamiko wanted the best for him but right now it would be Tamiko against so many Lycans at the same time. That was nothing that didn’t look too good for the young prince and it would cause more trouble than Danny wanted him to have to deal with this soon.

"I’ll be fine, Danny. I’m their prince and no matter how many times I deny it, I know it will catch all of me someday. I have my father’s strength and agility. I can fight and protect the both of us.

"Besides, my father won’t ever let anyone hurt me, not when he is around, and I have Kosta and Sadako uncle too. I’ll be okay, I just need to make sure you are safe so that they don’t try to hurt you, because if they do;

"... I’ll kill more of them and they won’t even see me again," Tamiko said ear to sky and Danny felt his heart constrict. He wanted to argue and insist but he knew that Tamiko was being realistic this time.

At the end of the day, Danny was just a wolf in a sea of Lycans and he was in danger already judging by the growling walrus and the way that the Lycans were acting around them. He wanted to say a lot, but this time he couldn’t.

He had to listen to Tamiko and he hoped that his brother would come back to him.

"Okay, but if you need me, just send me a portal," Danny said and Tamiko laughed in earnest. He loved the way that Danny cared so much for him even when danger was looming over the both of them.

"I will, I promise. Now go, brother. The palace servants will tend to you as the king’s guest, so if you get hungry or need anything within, just summon a servant and they won’t say no to you, alright?" Tamiko pointed out and Danny chuckled nervously.

However, he didn’t miss the way that Tamiko refused to refer to the king properly as his father unless he was talking about him generally. It was not going to be as simple and Danny knew that the mad King had a lot to work through with Tamiko.

However, even then he hoped that they would not take too long because he really wanted to see Tamiko loved by his father openly instead of how shit was right now.

"Alright then, I’ll see you later," Danny said as he went through the portal.

Tamiko waited till the portal closed before he turned towards the Lycans who were being rowdy around him. He could see their excitement at the possibility of Tamiko getting hurt or even the chance that the young lycan would be in real trouble with Hanzo senior.

It was something that should have worried Tamiko but he wasn’t worried.

It wasn’t even because of the three Lycans that he was sure would turn Kawai upside down if anything happened to him, but because Tamiko had been bullied his entire life and he wasn’t worried about this.

He could handle himself just like he did in Grealor. At least this time he was certain that no one would be hurting Danny as leverage against him. Which meant that he was free to ruin lives and give them a taste of their medicine.

Oh, the thought itself excited him so much that he felt jittery when he saw Hanzo senior coming at him, rage on his face like this was going to be the last day THAT Tamiko saw the sun.

"So you are the one that dared to hurt my dear son?!" Hanzo senior said and Tamiko just stared at the man boredly like they both had better things to do than just be standing there like the world was theirs to rule.

Maybe that was the same for Tamiko but the young prince didn’t care about what Hanzo senior wanted from him, with him or against him. He just wasn’t bothered to deal with it.

"You raised a bully and he is dead... Hanzo... not hurt. DEAD."
