Chapter 155: Perhaps The Fire Wasn’t As Hot Yet?

[KAWAI]

"You little shit. What the fuck did you just do?!" Danny glared in disbelief as he wiggled his way from the Lycans who were holding him. They let him go with ease, knowing so well that he would run to Tamiko, probably for help.

And just like they had thought, Danny ran towards Tamiko, calling his brother’s name repeatedly as if to be the consciousness that Tamiko held onto. He knew this wasn’t going to end well and maybe if he stood Tamiko then all would be weak, right?

"I’m fine, Tamiko... see?" Danny began but his brother was a goner.

"I told you not to lay a hand on him. Do you want a fight? I’ll give you one," Tamiko said as he used his magic to strangle the Lycans, who had come to taunt him and Danny earlier.

He intentionally left Hanzo to watch what he was doing to his friends. The one thing that had always separated Lycan rogues from the Kawai Lycans was the fact that they were not stronger than those who were in Kawai.

Yet Tamiko managed to return the same bruise they had left on Danny and knocked them out with one wave of his magic.

He was too strong for them and even the Lycans who had been standing next to him, had gotten a few steps back, worried about being collateral damage.

"You should have fucking listened to him and went your way, Hanzo," Danny said Hanzo’s name with so much disgust and disappointment, you would think that he had known the man for the longest time.

But then again, Daniel Belova had known Tamiko so well and they should have listened to his brother.

Now his friends were poisoned with Tamiko’s magic and were bleeding too, despite the fact that they should have healed thanks to their Lycan healing, all of this just didn’t make any sense to them and the murmurs resumed again.

"Impossible. You are just a ROGUE," Hanzo insisted and Tamiko laughed in his face.

"I am mated to your Lycan chief you fucking shit," Tamiko said and Hanzo just stared in disbelief. The other Lycans didn’t seem to buy into that because they knew the Lycan chief had little power.

It just wouldn’t make any sense to them so what the fuck was this about right now? There was never a Lycan as powerful as Tamiko was to them and it was unsettling.

"No way. The Lycan chief’s magic is just a little more potent than those of the royal guards. Even he couldn’t do what you have done with eleven Lycans at the same time, that is too much power," Hanzo said as he faltered.

He is worried about his fate this time and it was something that got Tamiko smiling at him even more. The smile was creepy and once again, the older Lycans thought back to the only other person with such a creepy smile.

The resemblance was there but no one had the guts to spell it out for them. It just did make sense and boy was it strange as hell.

"Aww, come on, Hanzo. Don’t tell me you’re scared of a little rogue and his wolf brother," Tamiko teased and Hanzo glared at Tamiko. As if to tell him to back off. This was not what he had the gut and Hanzo was genuinely scared.

The only worst part of all this? Tamiko was excited even more with the smell of fear that was radiating off of Hanzo. It was like he was face to face with another bully determined to fuck up his life again.

"Stay away from me!" Hanzo said and Tamiko asked.

"I warned you, Hanzo. I told you and your minions not to lay a hand on my brother and you did. You know that makes you not only stupid but also indifferent to instructions. If these Lycans were to ask you what we did to teach you to come at us like that, you wouldn’t have a say.

"All you know is that one is a rogue and the other is a wolf and they deserved to be bullied right?" Tamiko asked as he healed his brother’s torn hand.

He made sure not to leave an arm there because he couldn’t handle his brother having scars that were not gotten on the battlefield. This right here was no battlefield and Tamiko knew it. They all did anyway.

"I wasn’t the one who hurt him!" Hanzo defended and Tamiko chuckled.

"You gave them orders and they followed your orders. It’s only right that I kept my end of the bargain, right?" Tamiko stated, almost like he was trying to reason with Hanzo and not because he was studying the man.

Maybe he was trying to lure Hanzo into a false sense of camaraderie and make him understand that bulking wasn’t nice, but then Hanzo himself didn’t seem like the type to stop hurting people just because he had grown a conscience.

Hanzo was a bully and Tamiko had encountered powerful bullies in his time at Grealor and he knew they wouldn’t change even one bit.

Their words were just hot air that never meant shit because they would still continue this and that was the one thing that pissed Tamiko off more than he ever thought possible.

"Ask me for anything, and I will give it. Just please, don’t hurt me. If you don’t want to be a rogue again, I can tell my father to make that possible. He can remove the rogue stench off of you and cleanse your scent.

"No one will see you as a rogue again and no one will bother your brother too. Please, Tamiko. Don’t hurt me," Hanzo pleaded and Tamiko laughed. This is just another typical Gabriel Grealor and his fuck-ass friends who had bullied him back in Grealor.

Back then, Danny wanted to stand up for him, but Tamiko let him down because he didn’t want his friend to be hurt. It wasn’t the kind of thing that he needed and he had maintained it until the very last day in Grealor.

He had protected Danny even then. Now here he was, back in his home and he was experiencing the same shit. What the fuck was this kind of fate? Why was the universe so cruel to him and what was his?

"Anything?" Taniko asked and Danny spoke up.

"Brother, no... please. I’m fine. I’m healed. They won’t try it again, just spare his life, please," Danny pleaded as his words earned gasps from the crowd. What he was talking about was insane.

No rogue had ever dared to take the life of a Lycan in Kawai and that too, a Lycan who was a real one. This was not what was supposed to happen.

"He can’t kill him. Hanzo senior will have his head before noon if he hurts his son," the Lycans whispered and Tamiko laughed loudly, getting their attention again. They could see his eyes shifting between blue and gold, and honestly, they were confused.

No rogue ever had those traits and it was disturbing.

"I can’t risk that. You’re all I have, Danny," Tamiko said before he slapped Hanzo’s head off his neck, and burned his remains to ashes, a sight that got the Lycans certain that this was an act of war. But Tamiko didn’t care.

Hanzo had come after what was his first.

And Tamiko was ready for any retaliation.

"Let’s get out of this place, I have other sights to show you," Tamiko said to a shocked Danny.
