Chapter 154: We’ll Always End Up On The Same One
[KAWAI]
"Well, well, well. A wolf and a rogue Lycan in the Lycan kingdom, eh?" a Lycan spoke, making Tamiko and Danny turn to them with amused faces. They were older than Tamiko and buffer than both the boys by far.
It was almost insane just how good a build they had, which was wild because they were literally playing with fire right now. This wasn’t the best thing for them to do, and maybe they would get the right mind to leave before shit hit the fan, right?
"What do you want?" Tamiko asked broadly like he had better places to be.
"Woah, so the rogue talks. He probably thinks the king will save his ass again just because he was here once upon a time, right?" the Lycan said as the others laughed at his statement. It was hilarious to some extent and they were obviously enjoying this.
"The rogue also breaks bones. Now, scram before you find yourself in trouble that you hadn’t planned for, yeah? Let’s not ruin each other’s morning, because just so you know, I will kick your ass;
"... And I won’t even need the backing of your king for that," Tamiko said emotionlessly and they stared amusedly. They had seen the king and the boy before them get a little too familiar, but right now, they were hearing him refer to the Lycan king, as THEIR king.
What had changed then?
"Aww, is that so? How about this, you beat me in a fight and we don’t turn your werewolf friend into minced meat given how treacherous his trace is. What do you think?" the Luna said as the other surrounded them.
Two of them were holding onto Danny who wasn’t even resisting their actions. It was like he wasn’t in the mood for this and he couldn’t also just be the first one to lift a finger, because then it wouldn’t be self-defense.
That was what he had been trained and what he had taught Tamiko in their sparring lessons. Hopefully, that would work in their favor and the green amulet wouldn’t be used.
When Lord Sadako had mentioned the amulet and the fact that one of the three of them would show up, Danny hadn’t thought too much of it.
But now that he was here and, in this state, it just dawned on him that the king was one of the three which was dangerous as hell because heads would literally roll. Danny knows that and Tamiko too.
"Are you sure you want to do this? I am giving you the chance to back out before I hand your ass over to your friends in the shape of a pretzel, man," Tamiko said with a laugh and the Lycan who had spoken before him let out a growl.
It was a loud growl meant to draw attention, and attention it had drawn, because more Lycan sewer headed in their direction to see what was happening, it didn’t take long for the Lycans to surround Tamiko and Danny, not to mention the other Lycans who were taunting the two boys.
Danny had insensitively flinched because the Lycans were stronger than him, a mere beta wolf. They were more powerful than he could ever be. But then he wasn’t worried for himself.
He wasn’t even worried about Tamiko.
He was worried about the rage that his little brother had been holding in for so long and hadn’t found a channel for it yet. Granted, Tamiko had killed the Belovas and humiliated the Grealors, but he had a long-term rage that hadn’t been quenched just yet.
"Listen to this pesky little thing talking like he has that much power to bring me down," the Lycan said mockingly and Tamiko laughed heartily. He knows that they were all there to see him beaten and bruised, but even if Tamiko wasn’t in Kawai he wouldn’t let that happen.
"All I did was give you a chance and you didn’t take it. By the way, tell your friends not to leave a mark on my brother, because if I smell blood on him, I’ll be spending the rest of my life in the Kawai dungeons, and you will be dead, dead and dead," Tamiko warned with a smile on his face.
It was a sinister smile, one that the older Lycans had once upon a time seen in the king, but this time, none of them dared to make that reference. They didn’t know what else they could expect from this because no matter how they looked at it.
It just was impossible.
"Oooh... the rogue outcast from Grealor has the strength to threaten a real Lycan, born and bred in the great kingdom of Kawai. What do you say I do to him?!" the Lycan mocked and laughed as he looked at the audience that was giving him the courage.
Maybe he was stupid and wanted to die as soon as possible or he was just here to cause trouble and leave it at that. Tamiko wasn’t quite sure about it, which was why he had left everything to Danny’s fate to decide what he would do.
If they didn’t hurt Danny, Tamiko wouldn’t do anything to the man, let alone even spar with him. He would simply dodge every hit that came his way. But if they hurt his brother, he didn’t care if his father would come and scold him for it. He would tear the lot of them apart.
"Show him who you are, Hanzo!!" The crowd cheered and Amiko smirked.
"You’re dead meat... ROGUE," Hanzo said, his tone threatening but Tamiko didn’t do anything or even say anything that would give the man a clue as to what was going on in his head.
If anything, it was like the man had finally gotten over the phase of life that needed him to care or give a shit about anything or anyone right now.
"Are you going to keep talking or are you going to fight?" Tamiko asked, making Hanzo glare at him. The Lycan was smart too, he knew the king hated fights. It was something to throw words at each other, and it was another to pick a fight with anyone in the kingdom.
Lord Sadako would hang him by the balls, literally in the dungeons as a reminder of what it meant to be a Lycan of Kawaii. Peace and prosperity had been the rule of all time and rowdy as the Lycans had been, none of them wanted to be hanged by the balls like that.
So, they waited... and waited.
"You little—" Hanzo said right as Danny winced in pain.
"What the fuck did you do to me?" Danny asked as he saw blood profusely dripping down his hand like a huge cut had been made. This wasn’t what he had signed up for and he despised the Lycan even more for this.
"We can exactly start the fight because we know the rules of the kingdom. However, if the rogue is the one to start the fight, we can claim self-defense," Hanzo said with a laugh and Danny looked at Tamiko whose eyes had begun glowing gold and blue.
Oh, this was not good.
"You little shit. What the fuck did you just do?!" Danny glared in disbelief.
"I’m fine, Tamiko... see?" Danny began but his brother was a goner.
