Chapter 153: Dancing In The Lonely Fields
Chapter 153: Dancing In The Lonely Fields
[KAWAI]
The king’s departure from the table was a statement that couldn’t be ignored, not even by the rational Lycan lord who always knew what to say. This time, Sadako could tell that the king wasn’t about to play about his son, and deep down, he was proud of him.
There would be risks, just like he had wanted the king about, but the king wasn’t weak. Just because he had Tamiko back, didn’t mean that the boy was a weakness and that was getting more and more obvious by the day.
"Chief Konstantin, we have an assembly to assess. Come with me," Lord Sadako said before adding, "You two can explore the kingdom. If you run into trouble, use the green amulet I gave you. One of the three of us will show up for you."
"Sire," Igor acknowledged before he got up too.
"I’ll see you both around, excuse me," Lord Sadako said as he went on ahead, knight Tamiko would want to say goodbyes for the day to his erasthai who was staring at him with warm eyes.
They were so in love and Lord Sadako hoped that there was a bond that would last. He couldn’t think of Tamiko as being hurt by the Lycan chief. Because Igor didn’t seem like the type to hurt his erasthai.
Then again, if ever Igor thought to even try that, he would be dead before he lay a hand on the Lycan prince.
"I have to go, my soul. Have fun and if you’re hungry, you can teleport to the palace kitchens and food will be given to you both," Kosta said as he kissed Tamiko’s lips sensually. It is most likely this was the first time that they were seeing each other.
But then it wasn’t that hard to tell that they were like this because of the mate bond that had intensified between them. Even the blind could see the sparks that were around them each time they held hands or showed each other affection.
They were both so down for each other that it was sweet and disgusting at the same time. But as long as they were happy, everyone would be happy, right?
"You too, my precious," Tamiko said after he kissed Kosta’s forehead, an act that got Danny’s jaw on the floor of the dining room they were in. Oh, this was going to be more exciting than anything they hadn’t even thought of yet.
"I love you, always," Kosta said before he rushed out of the dining room, leaving Danny and Tamiko there.
"Spill," was the first thing out of Danny’s lips once he was certain that Kosta had left.
"I don’t know what you’re talking about," Tamiko stated lightly and Danny gave him the kind of look that screamed curiosity. Of course, the young prince knew what his best friend was talking about, but he had to make him work for it, right?
"Walls have ears, you know? Should I ask my question out loud or will you answer it nicely in the mind link we both share, hmm?" Danny asked and Tamiko sighed. Danny was a piece of work, and even then, Tamiko couldn’t have asked for a better best friend.
"Fine, it is what you think. But not a word about it to anyone. He is my erasthai, Danny," Tamiko said, getting a little protective at the end and Danny chuckled. He had never thought there would have been such a day, and that too with Kosta, but then here they were.
"Alright, alright. I won’t tease you about it. Come, let’s go exploring. We need to talk anyway," Danny said and Tamiko stared at him curiously. They had just been done with their breakfast so they had all the time in the world.
However, even then, Tamiko couldn’t help but feel terrible for his father, a man who was more than ready to bring everything down for him. He had known it from the very beginning, but hearing the king growl at his best friend and brother was just something else.
He had never imagined there would come away when Lord Sadako was on the receiving end of the king’s harsh words, but today it happened. Granted, they hadn’t talked about it with Kosta, possibly because there was no time, but as they walked out of the dining room.
Tamiko couldn’t help but look up at the door to his father’s chambers. He wondered what the king was doing right now. Whether he was even in his chambers or he had gone to torture people.
He wondered if his father was that upset but then again, Tamiko understood him. The man had had his whole life taken from him in just one night and now he had to walk on shells too.
That wasn’t what the king was like and Tamiko knew it was just a matter of time.
"This place is huge and so beautiful!" Tamiko bemoaned suddenly and Danny glared.
"As beautiful as the horse shit we were left to sleep in last night?" Danny whined.
Tamiko let out a laugh.
That was something that they hadn’t talked about at their little reunion earlier. It was interesting to know he was the king who had slept, seeing as the a was used to luxuries and yet had spent a whole night with the horses, along with his mate and best friend.
That was certainly the kind of night that they wouldn’t get either way.
"Well, to be fair, you weren’t alone? There were two royals with you," Tamiko laughed and Danny related to chasing him around the place, where the lines were waving them wearily.
To see the wolf and rogue running around like that with ease could only mean one thing. They had the approval of the king and it was a dare for the entire kingdom to try and fuck around with that happiness on their faces.
The Lycans were portable with this and it was so obvious in their faces.
Danny and Tamiko were on high alert, even if they were running around. They were intelligent enough to know they were playing with fire, but then what else were they supposed to do now when they had the most dangerous man looking out for them?
Did they even have a reason to be worried?
"Y’know, I don’t know what was worse... the king intentionally snoring and ruining the entire night for all of us, or the horses that kept farting in our faces. I swear that was the worst and the longest night I ever had.
"It was horrible and it hurt, to say the least. My ego was bruised and mended at the same time, seeing as the king was there with us. But then he was too loud. At some point, I figured he was doing it intentionally to make sure we didn’t sleep just like he couldn’t sleep.
"Oh, he is a piece of work, that man," Danny said, taking a break from all the running.
They are free spirits here with no responsibility other than being there for each other. It was heartwarming and anyone could have wished to be like them, if they didn’t know the kinds of pain that the two men had gone through.
This was what life had dished out to them and boy was it tiring.
"Well, well, well. A wolf and a rogue Lycan in the Lycan kingdom, eh?"
