Chapter 145: Perhaps There Were Never Easy Decisions?
[GREALOR]
The morning in Grealor was filled with sorrow as usual. The pack was still trying to come to terms with the people they had lost and it was not easy on them.
They had gone through hell and back but even then, they couldn’t help but think that there was a storm coming, a greater storm that would rip through them like it was just a little game of catch.
It wasn’t going to be easy and they know it too, judging by the looks on their faces. Perhaps this was the kind of thing that they hadn’t been ready for, right?
"Good morning Grealor. As you go on with your duties of the day, I need to warn you that Tamiko is in the pack. He will try to do things to agitate you and I highly suggest you don’t fall for the traps.
"He is insane and is bound to fuck things up. If you feed into his delusions, he will be able to tear it from the inside out. However, if you don’t, then you won’t have to worry about anything.
"Be careful and keep going on with your daily activities like he is not here," Gabe said to his people in the mind links. He was currently in the alpha’s office with Zakhar and Danny who looked like he had every other place to be but here.
Ever since the chaos had begun, Gabe had reailsed that Danny had no interest in anything to do with Grealor. It was like he just wanted to live his life peacefully without having to worry about anyone.
It was probably not too much for him to ask, but at the same time, it was a great temptation because his mate had been killed because of Gabriel Grealor.
"Excuse me," Danny said as he walked out of the alpha’s office not paying heed to anything that Garbiel had said. He wasn’t bothered by all of this because he wanted them to take over quickly so his life could end.
Danny wanted to fight so he would be able to join his mate. His heart was shattered one too many times and he couldn’t take this just any longer. Perhaps he wanted to fight so badly that he was willing to trigger a fight with Gabriel.
However, today wasn’t his lucky day because Gabriel had realized that it was a pattern for Danny. He knew that Danny was hurting and he knew that it wasn’t something they could help him out of.
Perhaps if they found a way to fuck things up for the intruder in their home, they would be fine, right?
"This is the fifteenth time he is doing that, Gabe. Are you always going to let him off that easily?" Zakhar asked while Zula, who had just gotten in, sighed like she knew something that the two men in the room didn’t know of.
"He lost his mate, Zakhar. Things like that don’t just disappear in an instant. His mate didn’t just break up with him. He lost him. He was murdered. That is something that is never going to be easy to get past.
"I understand we are all angry at the situation with Tamiko and the king camping her, but we can’t overlook the pain that we are feeling. Think of what Judd’s mate went through that day and what she is still going through.
"We can’t just turn a blind eye to everything," Gabriel reasoned and Zakhar sighed.
Things were really bad if they were getting a reasonable Gabriel and not the alpha’s son who was used to getting whatever the fuck he wanted. Perhaps the world was healing or maybe this war was just the beginning of a different set of chaos.
It wasn’t comforting at all, not in the least of ways this time.
"What do you plan on doing with them? You realize they are here to fight us for what happened to Tamiko, right?" Zakhar asked and Gabe started in earnest, the confusion and sadness on his face making a show.
He was a desperate alpha, one who needed to act and while Gabriel was always an emotional person this time, he couldn’t be emotional. The fate of his pack members was dependent on how he reacted this time, especially with the mad king on their lands.
It wasn’t something that could be easy to deal with because, on one hand, they could make the king’s presence in Grealor public and get the warriors to come after him, but on the other hand, they would risk anarchy.
All of that wasn’t just saying to let go and Gabriel was learning slowly.
"Wait for alpha Ashton to be back. He began this cycle and he had to have known that this was bound to happen one day or the other. There are more people involved in this madness than we can think of.
"Tamiko being here with his father is also another thing though if it helps, I think the king and his son are at odds. We can put a distance between them to make sure they never get to the same page.
"If Tamiko still has issues with his father, that is a weakness we can exploit. We can make sure to increase it by going to the king in a corner and he wouldn’t be able to resist, yeah?" Zula suggested and they looked at her like she had grown an extra head.
King Zaffuto Hinata was by far the best strategist in the realm. He was an evil piece of shit if he wanted to be and nothing would ever change that. He was the one person that realm had remained forever scared of, especially after the death of his wife.
What Zula was suggesting was suicide for the entirety of the Grealor pack and even she had to have known it to some point, right?
"Father will be back soon, so that works. But on creating a rift between the king and the mad prince, that is just insane. Have you seen these two? They are powerful and the king isn’t the kind of person to be swayed by mind games.
"He will definitely know what’s up and fuck us over one too many times. Tamiko may have rejected me in his own way, but screwing up with something that could burn the realm is not something we should be discussing easily," Gabe pointed out.
He couldn’t believe that they were resorting to dirty tricks to do this. They had struggled to get to this point and they were still reeling from the aftereffects of what Tamiko had done to them.
It hadn’t been the easiest of things for them because of how chaotic they had been but what the fuck would happen this time? Besides, it wasn’t like the king could let his son go after all the years and years he had waited for him, right?
Or was there something that they had not counted on yet?
What the hell would that even be at this point?
"You’re right. The king is a strategist in all matters of power, but he is not accustomed to emotions let alone what it takes to be around his son. At this point, he is still trying to figure things out, otherwise, he wouldn’t have come to a mere werewolf pack.
"He is the Lycan king and can outsmart us like that. But as a father, he won’t ever be able to think that fast. So, we use that to our advantage," Alpha Ashton spoke.
