Chapter 359: Get out!
Xiang Yu’s expression shifted suddenly, a subtle change that did not go unnoticed. A sharp pain surged through his nerves, causing his brows to crease in discomfort. Hex sensed the shift and fell into a panic. In Xiang Yu’s mind, Hex’s voice was urgent. "There’s something in that drink. I am going to slaughter that bitch." By bitch, Hex meant Leia. He believed she had a hand in this.
Xiang Yu shook his head mentally, glancing at the scarred man standing a bit further away in the room with the bodyguards. They had allowed the group into the inner chamber after discussing their plans. Who would have thought his father was so desperate to get them together that he would send this man to stir trouble? A sneer crossed Xiang Yu’s lips as the drug coursed through his body.
"Everyone, get out," he commanded, his voice deep and authoritative. Lian and Mei jumped at the suddenness of it, and so did the others. When he repeated, "Get out," the urgency in his tone left no room for argument. The princess’s entourage turned to her, and after a quick nod, they complied. Xiang Yu’s bodyguards followed suit, retreating from the room.
As the door closed behind them, Lian and Mei rushed over, concern etched on their faces. "Master, are you okay?" they asked in unison.
Hex, with Xiang Yu’s permission, sent a message to the twins. When they read the message, their expressions turned serious having realized he had been drugged. Lian’s instinct was to fight, to confront whoever was responsible, but Xiang Yu’s voice cut through her thoughts. "We need to make them think they succeeded.
Leia looked puzzled. "Succeeded at what?"
Xiang Yu struggled to maintain his composure. Clenching his fists against the wave of pain that tormented him, he spoke to Sienna directly, "Your attendant and Lian and Mei should leave together."
Leia’s frustration flared. "Why would I leave you and Her Highness alone?"
Xiang Yu’s gaze hardened. "She can leave through the emergency door at the back." The manager of the establishment had ensured there was a discreet exit for clients, knowing well that people might come looking for them or that paparazzi might be lurking in the night to take unflattering pictures of his important clients. The original Xiang Yu had appreciated that feature, especially with his father watching his every move.
Lian and Mei exchanged understanding glances, quickly grasping his intentions. Princess Sienna appeared apprehensive, uncertainty flickering in her eyes. "It’s only temporary," Xiang Yu reassured her. "Your people can wait for you on the other side. You said you were willing to play along."
Sienna bit her lower lip lightly, her instincts telling her something was wrong with Xiang Yu. She had witnessed an alpha enter an unexpected rut before, and Xiang Yu was displaying all the signs. "I swear I won’t touch you," he added, his voice low but firm
Finally, after a moment of hesitation, Sienna nodded her head in agreement. The tension in the room shifted, and Xiang Yu felt a flicker of relief amidst the chaos, knowing he had bought them a little time.
Since the princess had agreed it left no room for Leia to disagree. She could only glare at Xiang Yu while threatening, "If you dare lay your filthy hands on her highness, I will chop off your third—" Her voice was fierce, cutting through the tension like a knife.
Lian rolled his eyes, a smirk playing on her lips. "Yeah, yeah, we know. Let’s go." She reached for Leia, her grip firm as she pulled her away.
"Get your hands off me!" Leia protested, squirming in herhold. But she quickly realized Lian was far stronger than her. She huffed, crossing her arms as they moved.
Mei, with her bright smile, chimed in. "Let’s not delay. The earlier we leave, the faster you get your princess back." The urgency in her voice propelled them forward. Lian and Mei led Leia toward the outer room, where they abruptly shut the party down.
In the shadows, a man with a scar watched silently. Seeing that they had all left the room leaving behind his highness and princess Sienna he felt relieved. His eyes suddenly narrowed as he searched for a moment to inform his majesty of their success. As the noise of the party faded, he turned to another bodyguard. "Watch the door. Make sure no one disturbs his highness."
"Yes, sir," the bodyguard replied, standing at attention while the scarred man strode away, his rank clear in every step.
Meanwhile, Xiang Yu tapped the table, drawing Sienna’s attention. She jumped, startled. "You can leave in two minutes," he said coolly, "that should be enough time to follow the tunnel to the end."
As he got up to leave, Sienna’s hand shot out, grabbing his wrist. "What about you?" she asked, her voice laced with concern.
Xiang Yu’s demeanour shifted, a flicker of annoyance crossing his features. Sienna glanced down, realizing she was holding him. Her face flushed. "I—I am so sorry!" She let go, the warmth of his skin leaving her feeling oddly empty.
The comforting scent in the air was Xiang Yu’s pheromones, a subtle allure that wrapped around her senses. Most alphas exuded dominating scents that demanded submission, but he was different. It was inviting and soothing, making it easy for her to forget herself. She hadn’t even realized she was drawn to him until now because of it, unwilling to part with the connection that had felt so natural.
Xiang Yu’s voice was steady as he said, "You should leave." He turned, walking toward the private room’s bedroom. The door clicked shut behind him, leaving Sienna alone in the dim light.
Sienna picked at her fingers, the heat in her body rising. She stood up, but her knees felt weak, and she staggered. Gripping the furniture for support, she moved toward the back door. She wanted to knock on the door and say something to him but she gave up and headed for the hidden exit Xiang Yu had mentioned.
Her hand brushed the wall, and a blue light pulsed to life. A door whooshed open, revealing a dimly lit corridor. The emergency lights flickered on, guiding her path. As soon as she stepped inside, the door sealed behind her with a soft thud.
Walking down the corridor, anxiety gnawed at her. She quickly messaged Leia, saying she might need an inhibitor when she came out because she wasn’t feeling well. Leia’s fury sparked through the screen, her responses sharp and urgent. "Where are you now?" she demanded.
Just as Sienna began to type a reply, an overpowering scent enveloped her like a warm blanket. It was sandalwood, creamy and sensual. The aroma was so intense that her knees buckled, and she struggled to breathe, her senses igniting in a blaze of heat.
