Chapter 330: Rebels!
Marshal Wu, "..." He said to Lian, "Who are you calling old man?"
Mei replied, "The old man."
AN: I wonder who taught the twins to say that. Its do as I say not as I do.
Marshal Wu, "..." Rebels! These kids were now rebelling against this old man for a useless prince. "Apologize for disrespecting your grandpa," he demanded.
Lian said, "Grandpa, but I said nothing wrong."
Mei chimed in, "Yeah, you are old. Grandpa, you are a hundred and nineteen years old."
Marshal Wu yelled, "You..." but the scolding words were swallowed back. He didn’t want Xiang Yu to witness such a scene. His family business would be a joke in Xiang Yu’s eyes.
Xiang Yu couldn’t tolerate the disrespect, especially when he had to rely on the Marshal to take care of the twins in this world. "Apologize to your grandpa," he said to the two.
Lian and Mei instantly wilted and simultaneously said, "Sorry, Grandpa, we didn’t mean it."
Now Marshal Wu was in full panic mode, though his expression feigned calmness. The twins were like any other children. They weren’t perfect, and when they did something wrong, they would protest but eventually accept punishment and rarely repeated the same mistakes.
Now he had just told them to apologize, but they refused. Yet at Xiang Yu’s command, they instantly wilted and apologized. He couldn’t help but wonder what sort of poison Xiang Yu had fed his grandkids. This was unacceptable.
Xiang Yu took the overfilled glass, some of the liquor spilling over. "Marshal, don’t take the words of children too seriously. They are still learning," Xiang Yu said.
Marshal Wu retorted internally, "Aren’t you the same age?" The Marshal couldn’t help but feel like Xiang Yu was like a father trying to speak up for his kids after they did wrong. The Marshal gritted his teeth. He was their grandfather, yet he felt like an outsider.
Xiang Yu raised his glass and toasted the Marshal before downing the overfilled glass of liquor. He couldn’t even appreciate the taste as he accepted the punishment. The Marshal, who had only taken a sip, froze as he watched the prince guzzle down a full glass like it was water.
He was both impressed and upset that such a bottle was wasted on someone who couldn’t even appreciate the taste. The former marshal took another sip just as Xiang Yu set the glass down. Marshal Wu watched for any signs of intoxication, but Xiang Yu appeared normal.
"Are you okay?" Lian asked.
"Do you feel any discomfort?" Mei added.
Marshal Wu was stunned speechless. Was Xiang Yu so fragile that they were afraid he would die from one drink? "I am fine, finish eating," Xiang Yu said.
Han Xin, watching from the adjacent room, knew very well how potent Gold Nebula was. He was surprised that Xiang Yu would drink that much. He also knew the Marshal was punishing the him when he poured out that much, and like the Marshal, he thought Xiang Yu would refuse. But Xiang Yu surprised them both.
Soon, they left the private room. Outside the restaurant, Marshal Wu said to his granddaughters, "You take that hovercar, and I will take His Highness home."
Lian and Mei wanted to protest, but Xiang Yu gestured for them to go, and the pair grumbled before getting into the hovercar. Xiang Yu sat inside the Marshal’s hovercar and tugged at his collar, feeling slightly uncomfortable. When the door closed, he was struck by an oppressive aura bearing down on him like a boulder.
"My apologies for the intrusion, but my granddaughters are precious to me. They trust you, but I don’t," Marshal Wu said.
Xiang Yu smiled slightly. "Do what you have to do. I would do the same."
Marshal Wu thought he would see some form of resistance or resentment in Xiang Yu’s eyes, but all he saw was total surrender like he had nothing to hide. Marshal Wu sneered internally. "We will see if you can keep up the act," he thought.
The Marshal infiltrated Xiang Yu’s consciousness, clearly demonstrating his power as a superior alpha. Xiang Yu grimaced in pain as those tendrils slithered into his mind, testing his resolve.
He felt like he was going to collapse from the pain. He clenched his fists, his nails digging into his skin, leaving red marks. But soon, it was as though he was floating in a dark void, and the pain abruptly dissipated.
He closed his eyes and found himself suddenly in a room that oddly resembled those in the red light district. Xiang Yu couldn’t remember why he was here or how he got here in the first place.
Just as he was trying to figure out what was going on, the door opened, and Mei and Lian walked in. At first, he was happy to see them, but his face darkened when he saw what they were wearing. Since when did his disciples have to sell themselves?
Mei even had the audacity to say, "My lord, let us serve you," in a coquettish tone that sounded just like his mother when she was trying to solicit customers. Lian chimed in, "Yes, my lord."
Xiang Yu immediately picked up whatever he could get his hands on and threw it at them. He threw teacups, cushions, and even a vase. It never hit them once, but it was enough to shake them. Lian said, "My lord, we charge extra for violence."
That’s when Xiang Yu went berserk. He had never beaten the twins before, even when he punished them, but today he took off his boot and chased them out of the room, yelling, "If I don’t kill you today, my name is not Xiang Yu!"
The Marshal, who had created this illusion in Xiang Yu’s mind to see if this frivolous prince had such thoughts towards his grandchildren, was shocked. He had heard the rumors that this alpha played with both alphas and omegas so much so that even his royal attendant wasn’t spared. After seeing how they interacted in the private room he was afraid that this prince had evil intentions.
If this was the case, then Marshal Wu planned on killing Xiang Yu and leave him with no body to bury. He didn’t even care whether Xiang Yu was the heir to the throne or not. Infiltrating Xiang Yu’s mind was the only way for him to determine his true purpose, but he didn’t anticipate this turn of events.
Xiang Yu chased the two young women with one boot on while angrily waving the other. "You brats, I will kill you both today!" he shouted and threw one boot. It hit Mei, and she fell comically to the ground. One down, one more to go.
He took off his other boot and threw it at Lian, who was still running for dear life. Lian was hit too and fell just as Mei was getting up to continue running. Xiang Yu stood there tiredly, with his hands on his waist, looking like a disappointed father.
Marshal Wu, "..."
