Chapter 309: Body pillow discovered

Xiang Yu had no idea that his secret purchase had aroused Han Xin’s curiosity. That night, he slept very well, cuddling the body pillow like it was the most precious thing in the world.

Hex, who couldn’t stand it, snorted, "Yu Yu, it doesn’t even look that comfortable to cuddle."

Xiang Yu replied with a smirk, "That’s why I am cuddling it and not you."

Hex retorted, "I would be more comfortable to hug."

Xiang Yu’s brow arched as he said, "You are really getting too idle."

If Hex had a mouth, it would have pouted. Instead, it switched off the lights, and Xiang Yu hugged the body pillow tightly. He would have preferred it be Han Xin in his arms, but he could only settle this for now. Xiang Yu slept very well these days, and his mood was so good it gave others the illusion that he had won the lottery.

Han Xin had been busy lately and hadn’t gotten the chance to sneak into Xiang Yu’s room to find out who he was in love with. Today, he finally had that chance when he heard that Xiang Yu was going to the healing capsule since it had started working as the seven-day cooldown period had passed. Xiang Yu would be in the medical bay for at least a day, so Han Xin had more than enough time to sneak into the man’s room.

Han Xin turned on the invisibility feature on his suit and slipped into the room. The room was dimly lit, making it difficult to see, but for a high-ranking alpha like Han Xin, his eyesight was sharp. He knew where Xiang Yu usually hid things that he didn’t want the Imperial Lord to find.

Xiang Yu had three safes in the room, and if he was hiding something, it had to be in one of them. He broke into the one behind the painting first, but other than a storage device containing his mother’s final will and testament and her belongings, there was nothing.

Han Xin closed the safe and moved to the one hidden underneath Xiang Yu’s desk in the study. His fingers deftly worked the lock, and the safe door swung open with a soft click. Inside, he found something unexpected.

In an era where physical papers were almost obsolete, it was rare to find them, but those who wanted to hide something often resorted to physical copies with no digital trail.

Inside the envelope in the safe was a picture of a mansion, its design, unlike anything in the republic. Han Xin’s eyes narrowed as he examined the image. Alongside it were three inactive communicators and a Stellar Vault.

The Stellar Vault was a state-of-the-art, portable storage device designed to securely store and protect Star Coins, a form of digital currency with no digital trail. It combines advanced biometric security, quantum encryption, and interplanetary connectivity, making it the ultimate solution for secure financial transactions across the galaxy.

Han Xin stared at the Stellar Vault, his mind racing. Why would Xiang Yu need this? Then it clicked. Xiang Yu was creating a way out for himself. This was his exit plan. Han Xin sneered, the corners of his mouth curling up in a cold smile.

There was nowhere Xiang Yu could hide in this world that he wouldn’t be able to find him. The fact that Xiang Yu thought he could get away from him was almost laughable.

Han Xin took pictures of everything, ensuring he had a record of what he found. He shut the safe with a decisive thud.

He then walked towards the bedroom to find the other safe, but when he passed by the bed, his steps paused. He stared at the bed blankly, memories of that night flooding his mind. He clenched his jaw, anger simmering beneath the surface. The humiliation he had felt through the years resurfaced, and the urge to kill Xiang Yu suddenly grew.

He was about to go find the other safe when he remembered something. The package he had seen was a bit bigger than what would fit in the safes. He glanced at the bottom of the bed and suddenly had a feeling. He walked over and pulled the cover. There was a secret compartment underneath the bed where Xiang Yu usually hid his weapons. He pressed the surface, and with a click, it opened.

He pulled the door open and his brow furrowed, seeing something that shouldn’t be there. There was a black pillow almost the size of a body right above the neatly packed firearms. He pulled out the body pillow, and his face froze when he saw his own face on the pillow. Han Xin swore under his breath as he stared at the pillow, which was not only his face but also his body. It even had a zipper to open the jacket and underneath was a shirtless torso.

Han Xin dropped the body pillow like he was holding a hot potato. His breath caught in his throat. He blinked, hoping his eyes were playing tricks on him, but there it was, a body pillow with his likeness in Xiang Yu’s possession. The absurdity of the situation hit him like a punch to the gut. He felt a wave of nausea wash over him. His stomach churned, and he had to steady himself.

The room seemed to close in around him as he tried to process what he had found. The image of his own face staring back at him from the pillow was surreal, almost grotesque. He took a deep breath, trying to calm the storm of emotions raging inside him. This discovery was more than just unsettling.

Han Xin felt a whirlwind of emotions—confusion, anger, and a strange sense of violation. Was this some twisted form of mockery, or did it hint at something deeper, something more unsettling? He couldn’t help but wonder if Xiang Yu knew he would sneak into his room and had set this up. Otherwise, what else could be the reason?

In his past life, there had been no signs that Xiang Yu liked him, let alone loved him. In fact, Xiang Yu had told him that he hated him several times, and those were even his last words on his deathbed. So what the hell was going on?

The questions swirled in his mind, each one more disturbing than the last. He took a step back, his mind racing. The room seemed to close in on him, the walls pressing down with the weight of this bizarre revelation.

His initial shock began to morph into a cold, simmering anger. He put the body pillow back where he found it and returned everything to how it was before. He walked out of Xiang Yu’s bedchamber with a look of confusion on his face. Meanwhile, Xiang Yu was lying in the healing capsule, completely unaware that Han Xin had found his little secret.
