Chapter 252: Miniature Assassins
Han Zhan understood Xiang Yu’s intention immediately. He strode over and delivered a powerful kick to Die Banhan’s face, sending him sprawling to the ground. Half of the man’s face was now covered in dirt, the other half marked with an obvious boot print. Die Banhan tried to crawl away, like a cockroach seeking the dark crevices to hide.
Han Zhan aimed his gun at the ground near Die Banhan, firing shots that forced him to change direction repeatedly. After the fifth time, the man realised he was trapped. He turned to face Han Zhan with an ugly smile, knowing he had no escape.
Han Xin, observing the scene, commanded his men, "Tie him up and take care of his remaining minions." His men responded with a unified "Yes, master" and began to move.
Han Zhan kicked Die Banhan in the chin and blood spattered everywhere. He fell back and pass out, his gaze darkening as unconsciousness took over. Xiang Yu, having completed his task, packed up his rifle and stood up. As he reached the rusty door, Han Xin walked in, his tall frame blocking the light. He took the rifle case from Xiang Yu like a caring husband not wanting his wife to carry something heavy.
Xiang Yu raised his head slightly, asking, "Why did you come up?"
Han Xin reached out to touch Xiang Yu’s cheek but stopped when he noticed a small smudge of dirt. He pulled out a handkerchief and gently wiped it away, saying, "I was worried about you."
Xiang Yu’s lips twitched, trying to suppress a smile. "Aren’t you uncomfortable? This place is filthy."
Han Xin looked around at the dust-covered floor, broken appliances, vulgar graffiti on the walls, crusty blankets left by transients, and the cracking walls. He suddenly felt discomfort rising in his chest. He didn’t want Xiang Yu to stay in this place any longer. Without a word, he grabbed Xiang Yu’s hand and dragged him out of the factory building. Xiang Yu pursed his lips, watching Han Xin walking ahead of him, carrying the case while holding his hand. The touch sent a tingle through Xiang Yu, a sweet reminder of being cared for.
As they emerged from the factory, Lian and Mei ran over, their uniforms stained with blood. Xiang Yu didn’t care; he hugged them tightly, checking to make sure they were okay. Han Xin stood nearby, his hand in his pocket, watching the reunion. He couldn’t help but marvel at how these two had managed to subdue someone thrice their size. They were like miniature assassins.
Xiang Yu heaved a sigh of relief, seeing that the twins were unharmed. But then he realised someone was missing. "Where is Little Bai?" he asked.
Lian pointed to the car. "Brother Bai is not doing so well."
Mei added, "Brother Zhan is taking care of him."
Worried, Xiang Yu hurried to the car and found Little Bai weakly resting in Han Zhan’s arms, his eyes red and swollen from crying. Not wanting to disturb him, Xiang Yu whispered, "Is he okay?"
Han Zhan, who had returned to his calm self but looked like he had aged ten years, nodded slightly. "He will be fine."
Han Xin handed the case to Ran Lan and walked over to Xiang Yu. He placed his hand on Xiang Yu’s waist, his fingers curling slightly to reassure him. "Let’s go. We can get everyone checked out when we get to the villa."
Xiang Yu nodded, and Han Xin opened the car door for Xiang Yu. Han Xin leaned in and pulled the seat belt across Xiang Yu’s body, clipping it into place with a soft click.
As Han Xin’s hand lingered, Xiang Yu reached up and clutched his sleeve preventing him from leaving. Han Xin’s heart skipped a beat, and he was about to ask what was wrong when Xiang Yu’s lips met his in a swift, unexpected kiss.
The kiss was fleeting, but it ignited a fire in Han Xin’s veins. He tasted the sweetness of Xiang Yu’s lips, the hint of a lollipop still lingering on his tongue. It was a brief moment of passion, and Han Xin found himself smiling softly as he pulled away.
He took the half-melted lollipop from Xiang Yu’s mouth and popped it into his own, savouring the last remnants of its flavour. It was a small, intimate gesture but the man in the back seat widened his eyes in shook. Han Zhan shouldn’t be surprised at this point but damn, it was still so shocking.
Han Xin closed the car door gently, his eyes holding Xiang Yu’s gaze for a moment before he turned and walked around the front of the car. Xiang Yu watched him, his heart racing, as Han Xin slid into the driver’s seat with an air of casual confidence.
Inside the car, the twins, Lian and Mei, were already seated, their curious eyes taking in the scene outside the window. The cleanup crew was hard at work, disposing of what had to be disposed of and cleaning what had to be cleaned. By the time they would be done with this place, it would be as if nothing happened.
As Han Xin started the engine, the convoy of six cars began to move, leaving the abandoned factory behind.

Peng Xiu stood in the building overlooking the docks, wisps of smoke rising from the cigarette pinched between her fingers. Dressed in all black, she stood on the second floor, her eyes fixed on Agent Lu, who was waiting at the wooden pier below. She had given the Die clan information about Xiang Yu being the one who shot up the docks and ruined their business. She had also told them about the two girls beside Xiang Yu. In exchange for this information, she demanded they leave Han Xin alone. The Die clan had reacted swiftly, dispatching the lunatic Die Banhan, but she hadn’t heard any news since.
Peng Xiu had tried to contact Han Xin and Han Zhan, but neither of them were picking up. Considering Xiang Yu’s luck, she wouldn’t be surprised if they had failed to capture the twins and, in turn, Xiang Yu. Her mood was gloomy, and to make matters worse, she had this idiot Lu to deal with.
Her phone vibrated in her down jacket pocket. She took it out and glanced at the screen. It was Agent Lu. She looked down at him and a crooked smile appeared on her face. He had to go; he was a loose end. She threw the half-smoked cigarette on the ground and crushed it under her foot. Taking out her gun, she screwed a silencer onto the barrel before walking out.
Outside, Agent Lu was still on his phone, calling Peng Xiu. He heard a soft voice call his name and turned around with a smile on his face. He cut the call and walked towards her, arms outstretched for a hug. Peng Xiu stepped back, and Agent Lu, a little embarrassed, brushed it off. If he only knew what was about to happen, he would have never agreed to meet her.
