Chapter 251: Swift rescue

"Han Zhan!" Die Banhan called out. Han Zhan turned, his eyes blazing with fury at the sight of Little Bai on his knees, tears streaming down his face. One of the men took advantage of Han Zhan’s distraction, kicking him to the ground. Han Zhan clenched his fists, his voice a roar of defiance. "Let him go!"

Die Banhan sneered, his eyes glinting with malice. "I am here for you and these two girls... as for this kid, he is of no use to me." He gestured for his henchman to finish the job. Just then, a dagger flew through the air, embedding itself in the man’s back. He spun around, roaring in pain, as Lian fell to the ground. She quickly found her footing, glaring at him with a devilish grin, another dagger ready in her hand.

Everyone froze for a moment, stunned by the sudden turn of events. Mei darted past the man, her blade slicing through his Achilles tendon blood splattering everywhere. He collapsed, screaming in agony. Lian pressed her blade to his throat, her voice cold and steady. "One more step and it’s lights out."

The two girls wore haunting expressions, like evil spirits possessing their small bodies. Die Banhan was momentarily shocked, but he quickly regained his composure. Despite their ferocity, they were still just children. He signalled his men to advance.

As the men rushed forward, a gunshot echoed through the factory. One of the attackers dropped, a bullet hole in his forehead. Die Banhan looked up, spotting a sniper on the roof. "There! Get him!" he barked. But before his men could react, another shot rang out, and the man next to him fell.

Panic spread among Die Banhan’s men. Three of them bolted into the abandoned factory, seeking cover. The others tried to capture Lian and Mei, but each time they reached out, the sniper picked them off one by one. Bullets flew towards the sniper, but they missed miserably, and the sniper retaliated with deadly precision.

Suddenly, five cars roared into the factory grounds, their speed startling everyone. Han Xin’s car rammed into Die Banhan’s vehicle, sending it skidding. Die Banhan, who had been about to get into the car, jumped away just in time. Han Xin emerged, guns blazing, targeting Die Banhan as he ran towards another car.

The sniper took out the tyres of Die Banhan’s escape vehicle, forcing him to dive behind it for cover. He swore under his breath, realizing he was trapped. The sound of gunfire and the cries of his men filled the air, but Die Banhan remained hidden his breathing heavy. "Fuck!" he swore in rage, "That bitch better not have double-crossed him otherwise, I will skin her alive."

Xiang Yu lay prone on the cold, dusty floor of the abandoned factory, his breathing steady and controlled as he suckled on a lollipop. The dilapidated building, with its broken windows and rusted machinery, provided the perfect cover.

Through the scope of his sniper rifle, he could see the Die clan members moving about below, oblivious to the danger lurking above. His heart beat with a calm, rhythmic precision, a stark contrast to the chaos below.

Seeing the twins amidst the chaos fueled his resolve, but he kept his emotions in check. The sight of Lian and Mei, their faces set in fierce determination, made his heart sink into a dark abyss. They were his bottom line. He knew Peng Xiu had a hand in this, and he would react with a vengeance.

Earlier, when Han Xin told him what had happened he had quickly come up with a plan. He had checked the properties in Old Song’s name near where Han Zhan was and orchestrated the plan to lure the Di clan there. Driving with Han Xin to the nearby warehouse, they gathered their weapons from his secret armoury. This was how they ended up here, in the heart of the storm.

Seeing Little Bai in distress broke Xiang Yu’s heart. This was not the time for anger or fear; this was the time for cold, calculated action. Xiang Yu’s finger hovered over the trigger, his eyes narrowing as he focused on his first target. The Die clan member’s head came into sharp relief through the scope, every detail magnified. He exhaled slowly, the world around him fading into a blur as he became one with his weapon. With a barely perceptible squeeze of the trigger, the rifle bucked against his shoulder, the silenced shot echoing softly in the cavernous space. The target dropped instantly, a look of surprise frozen on his face.

Xiang Yu didn’t pause to admire his handiwork; he was already lining up his next shot. Each pull of the trigger was a precise, deliberate act. He turned his muzzle brake towards where the leader, Die Banhan, was hiding. Die Banhan had his gun close, crouching behind a car, and Xiang Yu was trying to get a clear shot, but Die Banhan was well hidden.

In the chaos, Lian and Mei had managed to kill the man earlier. They rushed to grab Little Bai after Xiang Yu had shot the man holding him hostage. Han Xin rushed over to them, pulling them out of harm’s way. Meanwhile, Han Zhan picked up one of the guns from the ground, clutching his abdomen where he had been kicked. Han Xin grabbed his arm and pulled him back, asking, "Can you handle it?"

Han Zhan, enraged by Die Banhan, growled, "What do you think? That fucker is mine."

Han Xin replied, "Being angry is good. He is all yours."

Han Zhan, usually the funny and chilled one, now had a cold expression, the malice in his eyes terrifying. He raised his hand and aimed the gun at the car Die Banhan was hiding behind. Han Zhan pulled the trigger, and the glass shattered, making Die Banhan cover his head while swearing. The shots kept coming, and the last two wheels were shot out, leaving the car completely grounded.

Die Banhan cursed before firing back, but then he realised he had run out of ammunition. He swore, throwing the empty magazine aside. The realisation of his predicament dawned on him as he looked around, seeing his men either down or retreating. The tables had turned, and now he was the one cornered.

Xiang Yu narrowed his eyes through the scope, spotting the top of Die Banhan’s head sticking out from behind the car. His tongue rolled the lollipop in his mouth as he pulled the trigger, the bullet narrowly missing the man’s ear. This shot was meant to startle, not kill, giving Han Zhan the opportunity he needed.
