Xiang Yu’s brows furrowed in his sleep feeling a tightness around his body, as if he were being strangled by a boa constrictor. Up until this moment he had had the most peaceful sleep of his life despite sleeping on the rough ground.

Panic surged through him when he recalled that there were snakes in this cave. His eyes flew open only to be met with a sight that sent shockwaves through his heart. Instead of a snake, it was a strong, broad chest right before him in his face.

That wasn’t the problem. The problem was where his hand was. His hand was inexplicably nestled within Han Xin’s lapel his fingers brushing against the warm fabric as if searching for something.

Xiang Yu’s breath caught in his chest, confusion and embarrassment flooding over him like rising tides. ’Fuck,’ he swore internally wondering what the hell was wrong with him. He wondered what he had been looking for in Han Xin’s clothes.

He braced himself and slowly retracted his hand, only to feel a warm breeze brush past his hair. Then came Han Xin’s deep husky voice breaking through the silence, "Are you awake?" Xiang Yu closed his eyes, biting his lower lip in embarrassment.

What had he been dreaming about? A flurry of images flickered through his mind. He dreamt himself in the backyard of his palace staring peacefully into the horizon. But how could that dream equate to where his hand was? None of it could explain why he found himself groping at Han Xin’s clothes.

Before he could gather himself or craft some semblance of an excuse, Han Xin pulled him closer his grip gentle but firm. He acted with a sense of familiarity like they had been together for years. This ignited both anxiety and exhilaration within Xiang Yu’s chest.

"You were pinching my nipple for some reason," Han Xin teased lightly, amusement dancing in those deep eyes as they locked onto her bewildered gaze. "What were you dreaming about?"

With a jolt, Xiang Yu sat upright and pushed away from Han Xin instinctively. The sudden movement caused Han Xin to suck in a sharp breath as though he had hit him. It was then that reality rushed back into focus and Xiang Yu remembered that Han Xin’s arm was hurt.

Concern washed over as he leaned forward instinctively to check on his arm. But before he could check its condition, Han Xin grabbed hold of his waist and pulled him down with a soft chuckle. His expression was one of pure contentment as if he were the happiest man in the world despite their rough surroundings.

Xiang Yu stiffened his line of sight right at Han Xin’s Adam’s apple. The way it rippled underneath his skin as he laughed made it look so enticing that he wanted to take a bite. "You’re too much," he said angrily but butterflies were swirling riotously in his stomach. He got up and straightened his wrinkled clothes his back towards Han Xin.

Han Xin stared at her his heart blossoming like spring had come. He had spent his first night with her and it felt so right that he was determined to marry her at any cost.

Earlier on he wasn’t lying when he said she was touching his nipple. He was woken up with her fingers wandering on his chest fondling and groping him. He thought she was awake and called her but she was fast asleep.

When she brushed past his nipple his body stiffened. He felt the heat rushing to his lower half. Just when he thought she would stop, she escalated, pinching his nipple twice before letting go. He breathed a sigh of relief but she still kept groping around. It was both amusing and cute. Now she was acting all shy.

"Ah-Xiu?" he called out the softness in his voice cutting through the silence. It was so alluring that it almost made Xiang Yu’s ears pregnant. Xiang Yu turned around with a look that seemed to say, ’you better not start some shit. I am not in the mood.’

Han Xin got up and wrapped his arm around her waist. He pulled her into a hug and said, "Thank you for taking care of me?" his voice barely above a whisper.

Xiang Yu felt Han Xin’s arms wrap around him in a warm embrace. His heart pounded in his chest, each beat echoing in his ears. His hand hovered awkwardly in mid-air for a heartbeat before falling limply at his side.

He couldn’t bring himself to return his embrace. His new goal of having Han Xin fall for him had been achieved, and he knew he should retreat to minimise the heartache when he found out the truth, but he couldn’t bring himself to.

Han Xin’s brow furrowed with concern. He feared that she would regret their kiss and retreat into her shell, rendering all his efforts to win her heart pointless. But then something shifted. He felt her hand rest gently on his back, and his heart melted. He tightened his embrace instinctively feeling the warmth of her body against his. It felt right as though they were two pieces destined to fit together.

Xiang Yu’s fingers curled, gently gripping the fabric of Han Xin’s clothes. The sensation was both foreign and comforting.

Han Xin leaned closer until his lips brushed against her ear, his breath tickling her sensitive skin as he whispered, his voice laced with longing, "Can you give me a good morning kiss?"

Xiang Yu’s alarm bells went off. Wasn’t that kiss last night enough? His lips were still tingling after all that. He might have been scolding him in his heart but his heart skipped a beat like he was excited to go again. He gently pushed Han Xin away, his eyes filled with determination. "We need to find a way out of this place," he said softly.

Han Xin rubbed the back of his neck, a little embarrassed, but he couldn’t help but smile at her resolve. Seeing her walking towards the cave entrance, he followed after her, catching up with her in two steps.

The air in the tunnels was cool and damp, and the sound of their footsteps echoed softly off the stone walls. Xiang Yu walked through the dimly lit channels with Han Xin standing so close to him you would think that there was no more space in this wide tunnel.
