Chapter 97: [Bonus Chapter] Could Not Afford Losing Any One Of Them

Li Lingyun sighed in relief after Lin Yan fever went down. His phone vibrated and he saw that it was a message from Lin An. "Has her fever reduced?"

Li Lingyun saw the message and ignored it. After a few minutes later, he received another message "How is she? Should I check up on her myself. Of course that means me coming to your house to see my sister."

Li Lingyun sighed and sent a message back to him "The fever has reduced and she is asleep."

Li Lingyun looked at Lin Yan and carress her hair as he whispered "I will be the one protecting you from now on."

...

Lin Yan woke up with the worst headache she has ever had in her entire life.

Wondering where Li Lingyun was, Lin Yan got up from the bed and first checked on Li Xiao and saw that she was not in her room and when she was about to leave she bump into Li Lingyun.

Li Lingyun first placed his hand on her forehead and sighed in relief before saying "Go freshen up and come down for breakfast."

Lin Yan was surprised by his cold tone towards her and held his hand before he could leave "Are you angry with me?"

Li Lingyun just stared at her without saying anything.

Seeing that he was silent, she decided to use another card "Where is Li Xiao?"

Li Lingyun separated his hand from Lin Yan and replied "She’s gone to school."

Lin Yan frowned and asked "School?"

Lin Yan who was confused on why Li Lingyun was just staring at her suddenly gasp when she remembered that today was Li Xiao first day at her new school.

"Freshen up and come down for breakfast." Li Lingyun said again and walked away.

.....

Few minutes later, Lin Yan came down and directly went to the kitchen where she saw Li Lingyun cooking. She hugged him from behind and whispered "I’m sorry."

Li Lingyun who was suddenly hugged from behind wanted to badly turn to her and hug her but he restrained himself and said "Go sit, I will bring the food to the table."

Lin Yan hugged Li Lingyun tightly and shook her head.

Li Lingyun held her hand and remove her hand from his waist as he said "Go wait at the table. I will be there soon."

Lin Yan nodded and went to the dining table.

Few minutes later, Li Lingyun came in with plates of food and set them on the table.

He placed a small bowl in front of Lin Yan and said "Drink the soup, it will help with your handover."

Lin Yan obediently nodded and was about to picked up a spoon when an idea came to her mind.

She held her head as if she was in pain and said "My head hurt too much, I don’t think I can eat by myself."

Li Lingyun scoffed and said "You are using your hand to eat and not your head."

"Maybe you don’t know this but anytime my head hurt, I become unable to use the other part of my body." Lin Yan replied shamelessly.

Li Lingyun wanted to smile but he immediately restrained himself and asked "Should I feed you?"

"Yes." Lin Yan replied with no hesitation.

"Why should I do that? Since you can go out without informing me then you can also eat without me." Li Lingyun coldly said and stood up from the dining table.

Lin Yan immediately held his hand and said "I’m sorry. I won’t go out again and I won’t drink again, so please forgive me."

"Lin Yan do you even know why I’m angry?" Li Lingyun finally asked.

Lin Yan looked at Li Lingyun innocently and said "Because I got drunk."

"That is part of it but not it."

"Then why are you angry?"

"I tell you whenever I will be working late and even yesterday I sent you a text that I would be home late but yet you couldn’t even do the same. Why? Did you think that I was controlling and I wouldn’t let you go out?"

Lin Yan immediately shook her head and said "Of course not."

"Then why didn’t you tell me you were going out? That you might end up drinking a lot."

"Lingyun."

"I was so worried when I got home and you weren’t there. I called you multiple times and there was no reply and I couldn’t help the thoughts that came to my head. A text would have been enough for me, Lin Yan." Li Lingyun finally said his mind.

Lin Yan regretted her actions, even she did not know why she did not send him a text or call.

"I’m sorry, I won’t do it again. I will always tell you whenever I’m going out, please. I don’t like it when we fight." Lin Yan said as she stood up as well.

She moved closer to Li Lingyun and pecked his lips as she whispered "Let’s not fight."

Li Lingyun closed his eyes for brief second when he felt Lin Yan lips on him before saying "Don’t do that to me again. I was really worried about you, I wondered where you were and if you were alright only to see you drunk in a club. Do that again and I really won’t speak to you anymore."

"Does that mean you have forgiven me?" Lin Yan asked with a smile.

"Can I really stay angry with you?" Li Lingyun asked in a gentle voice.

Lin Yan hugged him tightly and said "I promise I won’t do it again."

Li Lingyun wrapped his hand around her and said "You are also forbidden from drinking more than one glass at any event we are not attending together."

"Why?"

"Because you a terrible drunk." He hugged her tighter and continued "And I won’t be there to take care of you."

Lin Yan smiled in his arms and kissed his cheek as she said "My husband is truly the best."

Li Lingyun just chuckled at her actions and held her. He really wished he could be angry with her a little longer but he couldn’t. Lin Yan and Li Xiao were his everything and he could never afford losing any of them.
