Chapter 76: An Unknown Number.
Everyone turned to Li Jun who was standing at the door, they watched as he stood besides his mother and said "Li Xiao is lying. My mother wasn’t the one who gave her that knife."
"Are you saying that my daughter is lying? Why would she lie against your mother?" Li Lingyun said as he hugged his daughter tighter. Even though he knew Li Xiao lied, he would never allow his daughter to be seen as a liar in front of the family. He has to make Li Xiao lie become the truth no matter what.
"Can we take this outside? You are all frightening Li Xiao with all the yelling." Lin Yan spoke up. It doesn’t matter why Li Xiao lied against Wang Hua, she has to make this lie become the truth, for Li Xiao and for her brother sake.
"Shen Yi is right, you all should leave. We will speak more about this matter downstairs." Old Master Li said calmly and left, Wang Hua, Li Ran and Li Jun followed him and closed the door.
The room became silent with only Li Xiao, Li Lingyun and Lin Yan.
"I’m sorry" Lin Yan said, breaking the silence.
"Can you leave as well?" Li Lingyun asked as he still held Li Xiao.
Lin Yan was hurted by his request but she nodded her head and left the room, leaving only Li Lingyun and Li Xiao together.
Li Lingyun pulled a frightened Li Xiao from his body and asked "Why did you lie? It wasn’t Wang Hua right? Was it Lin An who gave you the knife?" Li Lingyun was very calm as he asked these questions but not only did Li Xiao refused to answer she also refused to look at him.
Li Lingyun sighed and said coldly "Fine, don’t say anything but as from now on, not only will I no longer speak to you again but you will no longer see me again. I will go abroad and never come back."
Li Lingyun stood up from the bed and was about to leave were Li Xiao said "Daddy."
Li Lingyun turned to her and asked "Will you tell me the truth now."
Tears were already falling from Li Xiao eyes as she looked at her dad and asked "Will you not speak to me anymore? Will you really leave me?"
His heart was breaking, each tears falling from his daughter eyes was breaking his heart more and more, but he had to do this, he needs to know the truth. "Yes. Only if you tell me the truth will those things never happened."
Li Xiao who scared of her father leaving her told him everything. She told him of how Chun Wei bullied her, she also told him everything that happened when she was with Lin An.
"Then why did you say that it was Wang Hua who gave you the knife?"
"Because uncle An told me of how bad aunt has been to mummy, that was why I pointed her. And also I didn’t want uncle An to be in trouble because of me."
"You have only known him for one day, why do you care if he is in trouble or not."
"Because uncle An is really cool." Li Xiao said with excitement in her eyes.
"Was it Lin An who asked you to point at Wang Hua?" Li Lingyun asked and he was not surprised when Li Xiao shook her head.
"Did he tell you that Wang Hua deserves the worst for hurting your mother?"
Li Xiao nodded her head.
That bastard manipulated his daughter by using the love she felt towards Lin Yan. He never thought that Lin An was that sick.
"Do you regret stabbing that girl?"
Li Xiao shook her head without hesitation and said "Uncle An said, Chun Wei deserve that for being a bully, he said that thanks to me, no child will be bully by Chun Wei again. He said he is very proud to have me as his niece."
Every child wants to be a superhero one way or the other and that was what Lin An did. He painted a superhero picture for Li Xiao by telling her that she has done a good deed. Lin An was able to wash away every ounce of guilt or regret from Li Xiao because now his little girl think that thanks to her no child will ever be bully by Chun Wei.
But how did he even speak to her? When he came back from Australia and saw Li Xiao, she looked scared so when and how did he even tell her all these. And then a thought came to him. It must have Lin Yan. Was Lin Yan really here as he filled his child with those nonesense, Is Li Xiao just another way for them to get revenge on Wang Hua and Li Jun. If that is the case then he will make them both pay for it.
...
"Explain why you think your mother is Innocent, because I know my Little Xiao will never lie." Old Master Li said.
Li Jun smiled gently before saying "Due to some suspicion I had on Lin An, I ordered some men to follow him and guess what? They saw him picking Li Xiao up from school."
"What?"
"At first I thought that he was planning to kidnapped her but when I spoke to the homeroom teacher she said that Shen Yi over here gave Lin An permission to collect Li Xiao from school. Am I wrong?" Li Jun asked as he looked at Shen Yi.
"You are not wrong. I indeed gave Lin An permission to pick Li Xiao up from school but I don’t understand how this affect the fact that your mother instigated Li Xiao to almost commit murder at the age of four." Lin Yan said in a very compose manner.
"Was it really my mother? Wasn’t it Lin An who gave her that knife?"
"Am I to believe that the person who once saved my life gave my daughter a knife to murder someone? To protect your mother you will label my daughter as a liar?"
"You have no proof that my mother did it."
"And you have no proof that Lin An did it."
Li Jun laughed softly and finally asked "Just who is Lin An to you? Why do you always protect him? Could it be that there is an unspoken relationship between the two of you?"
"Li Jun!"
Li Jun turned and saw his uncle walking down his stairs as he said "Don’t over do it"
Li Lingyun looked at his grandfather and said "You can judge whatever you want to but Li Xiao will no longer stay here or even come for a visit as long as Wang Hua is still staying in this house."
"Li Lingyun! do not forget that I am still your elder. You can’t disrespect me this way, I have no idea what manners you have taught your daughter but one thing I know for sure is that she is liar!" Wang Hua screamed out. She felt wrong, she refused to leave this house, especially when she has done nothing wrong.
"Choose. It is either me and Li Xiao or Wang Hua, so make your choice right now grandfather."
Old Master Li felt conflicted, Wang Hua was still his daughter-in-law, but at this point he felt he didn’t have a choice, he cleared his throat and said "Wang Hua, I think it is best if you leave this house right away. My granddaughter will always be in danger as long as you are in here. I will get you a nice house for you to move into, so in the meantime pack your things and leave before Li Xiao see you again. It is obvious she is afraid of you."
What was happening? Why was Li Lingyun supporting her? She was sure Li Lingyun knew that Li Xiao was lying so why? Could it be because he didn’t want Li Xiao to be seen as a liar or was it something else, just what was going on in his head?
"No! You can’t do this to me! I refuse to leave. I didn’t do anything to her. I don’t know why she would lie, but I promise, I wasn’t the one who gave Li Xiao that knife." Wang Hua said.
"Grandpa, I’m sure it wasn’t mother who did it. Perhaps someone has threatened Li Xiao to blame mother for this. Asking her to leave the house is too harsh." Li Jun said as he tries to reason with his grandfather.
And just then Lin Yan felt a vibration on her phone, she looked at the message and froze. Who was this? The message was from an unknown number and it read ’Do you want to know a secret about Lin An?’
What secret does this person know about Lin An and why was this person messaging her and just then another message pop up in her screen and it says ’When he and his twin sister were little, they killed someone.’
