Chapter 48: Yao Qi

"Hello, I’m Yao Qi, I got your number from Li Lingyun. Can we meet at Royal’s cafe."

That was the message Lin Yan got immediately she entered the car with Li Xiao, she took out her phone and called Li Lingyun and immediately the call was answered.

"Are you done with your shopping?"

"Yes and Yao Qi sent me a message saying that we should meet at Royal’s cafe. I can’t take Li Xiao with me because it will ruin the surprise and I can’t take her home because I don’t want her to be alone."

"Bring her to me."

"Ok."

Lin Yan looked at Li Xiao and was surprised that the little girl was already sleeping.

’She must be really tired.’ Lin Yan muttered to herself and began driving.

The stores was not that far from the Li Corporation, so within thirty minutes, Lin Yan arrived at the Li Corporation.

She carried Li Xiao who was still sleeping in her arms and when she arrived at Li Lingyun office, she opened the door without knocking and saw Li Lingyun standing at his office window speaking to someone on the phone in English.

Hearing the door of his office opened without knocking, Li Lingyun turned around and saw Shen Yi with a sleeping Li Xiao. He ended the call and walked towards Shen Yi as he said "Give her to me."

Lin Yan gave Li Xiao to Li Lingyun and she stirred a little before going back to sleep.

"Come, follow me." Li Lingyun said and walked towards a door that was in his office.

Lin Yan had never given meaning to the door that was in his office, perhaps she has always thought that it was the bathroom but she never actually thought that it was room, a big one at that.

She watched as Li Lingyun placed Li Xiao gently on the bed, kissed her forehead and tucked her in.

Warmth seeps into Lin Yan hearts as she watched Li Lingyun and Li Xiao.

After tucking his daughter, Li Lingyun held Shen Yi hands and led her out of the room.

Before Lin Yan could realized what was happening she felt Li Lingyun lips on hers as he pushed her against the door. He deepened the kiss as he plunged his tongue into her mouth.

Li Lingyun smiled when Lin Yan wrapped her arms round his neck and respond to his kisses with the same fervor.

They kissed like that for minutes, enjoying the taste of each other mouth before the ringing of Shen Yi phone separated them.

"Don’t answer it." Li Lingyun said as he joined their forehead together.

Lin Yan wanted to ignored the call until she remembered Yao Qi.

"It could be Yao Qi calling."

Li Lingyun sighed and separated himself from her as she answered the call.

"I will be right there." Lin Yan said to the person on the phone.

"I guess it was Yao Qi?"

Lin Yan nodded and said "I need to go, I can’t make her wait too long."

"Go ahead, I have a meeting in five minutes anyway and drive carefully."

"Ok. You don’t have to keep reminding me and besides the accident happened because of the brakes not because of my reckless driving."

"Just drive carefully and do me a favor."

"What favor?"

"Try to get along with Yao Qi."

Lin Yan could see that Li Lingyun really wanted her to get along with Yao Qi, maybe because she was Meng Zhu wife. "I will try my best to get along with her."

"Thank you"

After leaving Li Lingyun office, Lin Yan drove off to Royal’s cafe. She entered the cafe and wondered where Yao Qi was? Just has she was about to call, she heard her name from a woman sitting at the window side of the cafe.

Yao Qi stretch out her hands and said "I’m Yao Qi, Meng Zhu’s wife and also your sister-in-law."

Shen Yi smiled and shook her hand as she said "I’m Shen Yi, Li Lingyun wife and your younger sister in-law, please take care of me"

Yao Qi laughed and said "You were not what I expected. Due to the stories I have heard and plus your negligence to Li Xiao all these years I actually thought...."

"That I was a bad person."

Yao Qi shook her head and said "That you were just a rich spoilt brat who couldn’t accept reality for three years but once again Meng Ziyi got the award. Sorry for being too blunt, sometimes I can’t help it."

Lin Yan smiled and said "No offense taken, your words are true anyway. It’s a good thing I woke up to reality, right?" To be honest she was glad that Yao Qi wasn’t one of those rich and boring women who only cared about looking prim and proper in front of society and truth be told, she was actually beginning to like Yao Qi.
