Transmigration: Lady Chi Woos The Ice cold Professor Jun -
Chapter 687: Becoming a true lady.
Chapter 687: Becoming a true lady.
The mighty little peep star: [I found the location of the newly divorced and single crown prince but I won’t say a single thing.
Shhhh!!!!]
A picture of the crown prince hiking in a mountainous area was shared. He was carrying a green bag pack and in his hands was a special aluminum flask bottle of Juan tea reserved for special customers.
It had only been a while but the crown prince had grown a beard already, although it was not very thick.
If one observed the picture carefully, they would spot a woman a few steps ahead of the crown prince. But, she knew that no one would pay attention to the woman because it did not look like the two individuals were connected.
When the romance became known, people would come back to the images of the crown prince which she shared and make connections.
[Oh my God, it’s been almost two weeks since the divorce already. A dark day in the history of our empire.]
[If I didn’t know better I would think that this is a sponsored Ad and the crown prince is advertising for Midas Chi.]
[The crown prince has lost weight, our poor prince. Where is he and how can I comfort him?]
[You won’t share the location but I can take the images in the background and use them to discover the location.]
[This should be an invasion of privacy so please can you allow the man to grieve and get over his heartbreak in peace.]
[Those images of the former crown princess in a black dress, being escorted out of the palace by the emperor’s guards still haunts me. She looked sick and malnourished but nobody cares about her pain. Where was she sent after being sent out of the palace?]
[You above, everyone knows that she was sent to a temple in the southern palace to live the remainder of her life in isolation and repentance. Isn’t that the tradition of our empire? It might be outdated but when one marries into royalty they should know what to expect if things go wrong.]
This post was made in the morning, on the day that the emperor was set to bequeath noble titles on a number of families. It was a special occasion, held at the royal palace with glamour and pomp. The individuals or patriarchs of the families to be awarded noble titles had been invited along with three family members.
Two hours before the ceremony was to begin, the peep star made another post.
The mighty little peep star: [This peep star got her hands on the names and specific titles to be awarded. You will never believe some of the commoners who made the list!!!! These three caught my eye.
The Chi’s and I mean Midas Chi’s father, so finally she can really call herself a lady.
Song Yen, the poet whose words have sold the beauty of our empire far and wide.
Mo Tao, the painter and professor of ancient art at Guanze Arts Institute.
To name but a few and you also won’t believe which former aristocratic families have been excluded from the list. I will only mention one.
The Yan family, from where the former crown princess hails.]
The list which was shared was long but some names were blurred while others were visible.
Because this issue was of great interest to everyone in the empire and outside, many people paid great attention to everything which was related to it.
In fact, even the international media had sent their reporters to cover the ceremony. The return of noble titles had sparked a debate in other empires where such titles had been abolished. If it was successfully carried out in the Chinese empire then it might spread to other empires as well.
At the royal palace, sitting next to Chi Lian, Chi Zimo was reading some of these comments out loudly.
[Is the Yan family not being on that list a surprise to anyone? Come on people, it was to be expected. The family is a disgrace and they should be made nobles and then stripped of that nobility and made commoners like the rest of us.]
[It’s undeniable that Chi Lian is a role model among the young ladies of our generation so,,, yippee, go Lady Chi.]
[Midas Chi is will soon be Lady Chi, wooow.]
[In the ancient days, the Yan’s would be sent into exile and sent out of the capital to a far away place to suffer harshly. They are lucky that all that is happening is simply being denied a noble title.]
[Our professor Mo, congratulations, nobody deserves it more than the man that has worked hard to promote our empire.]
[Peep star, you really have first hands!!! How did you get your hands on this list?]
[You did not tell us the titles that they would given, I think professor Mo might be a Viscount and Midas Chi’s father a baron. Those who have contributed to the empire should be given higher titles.}
That comment did not sit right with Chi Lian and immediately, she frowned unhappily.
"What a load of crap." she mumbled to herself.
Who in this empire had contributed more than her? She had found treasures, lost paintings, wanted criminals, foiled a rebellion, introduced new technologies, created thousands of new jobs and she would create even more in the future. If anybody here deserved the highest honor, it was her.
"Fucking idiot." she whispered beneath her breath.
Mama Chi who was sitting next to her heard her curse and she winced. In addition to the wince, she squeezed Chi Lian’s arm and shook her head.
They were in the royal palace, waiting for the empire to come out and address them. This was a noble and graceful occasion, she could not dishonor it by cursing.
Chi Lian scoffed and looked at her phone.
"Youuuu!!" her mother whispered.
"Sorry." she replied dryly without an ounce of sincerity.
Even if she explained to her mother the cause of her dissatisfaction, her mother would not understand. She would say something about them being grateful because commoners like them had been awarded a noble title, after all, most of the people here were from aristocratic families.
The emperor walked in without a formal announcement and everyone scrambled to get to their feet. Behind him, was the royal butler, a new one, not the old one with whose face and history she was familiar.
’Huh, I wonder what happened to the old royal butler.’ she thought.
"He left the country with his family." T4 told her.
"I guess that means the emperor sent him away, I told you, he was a liability in the palace." she told him.
"I will look into the new one." T4 told her.
"No need, I am sure that the emperor has taken care of it, a quarter of the staff in the royal palace has been replaced. He would not do it without taking proper precautions." she said.
Unless it was a mission, she had no plans of interfering with royal affairs for a while. Her life was good and peaceful, everything had worked out for her and she wanted the stability to remain for a good long while.
"Htv is selling more of it’s shares, should I buy them?" he asked.
"Buy and continue releasing their dirty laundry until we own the entire network." she answered.
She had continued her assault on HTV, even there new show tea with a beauty did not make it past one episode before being canceled. As far as she knew, Ehuang was searching for a new job but the media industry was small, rumors about her had already spread so it would not be easy for her to get a job in the capital.
"Yes, host." T4’ saluted and vanished from the virtual screen.
She smiled and paid attention to what the emperor was saying, as he gave his concluding remarks and Chi Rui, as the minister for lost culture stepped up to read the names while the emperor handed out documentation that proved the identity of the noble.
