Chapter 686: The Mid-Autumn festival

The mighty little peep star: [I was wrong, Fang Chi came through for us after all.]

The old short video of Su Xiaoxiao and Fang Chi’s ex girlfriend fighting at the first camping event was shared.

Chi Lian laughed when she did this, knowing that it would raise the hopes of many and then crush them when they realized that nothing actually happened this year.

The second edition of the camping event ended successfully, and everyone went off to celebrate the moon festival. Most of the family members flew home on either Chi Lian’s private plane or Muyang’s new private plane which he was quick to replace after receiving a hefty reward from the emperor.

All of the Jun’s gathered at the main Jun mansion, to celebrate the festival together as a family.

Muyang, however, did not even allow Chi Lian to take one foot inside the house before dragging her off to her parents house to look at the space ship.

That’s how Chi Lian found herself awkwardly staring at her mother who had just asked her why she was there and not at her in-laws home.

"Mother, we are here to pick some things up from the basement." she answered.

"Couldn’t that wait?" her mother whispered when Muyang came to the living room looking for Chi Lian.

And before she could answer, Chi Zimo walked up to them and asked, "Sister, why are you here?"

She waved her hand, inviting him to lower his head so that she could tell him why. The moment he did, she hit his head with her knuckles and said, "Have you forgotten that this is my home too?"

"Aww, you didn’t have to do that. Mummy, tell sister not to beat me on the head. I keep telling you all that I will become dumb if you keep it up." he whined.

"You are already dumb." Chi Wei joined them in the living room and slapped Chi Zimo on the head as well, albeit lightly.

Chi Zimo was irritated and he pouted and said, "Mother, he is doing it too."

"Stop teasing your brothers and go to where you are supposed to spend the moon festival. Chi-Chi, you should be helping your in-laws to make moon cakes. Rui, you are expected in the palace, stop dallying around here." Their mother replied.

"Mother-in-law, we are just picking up some few things and we will be out of your hair." Muyang said anxiously on his behalf and Chi Lian’s.

It looked like mama Chi was all but ready to shove Chi Lian outside and send them both packing. He would not leave without taking a look at that space ship.

He stole her away before his mother-in-law could say anything else and quickly had her open the door leading to the basement.

She opened the door and they went inside, with Muyang taking large hurried strides as his eyes darted back and fourth. His head did the same as well, moving from side to side.

"Where is it?" he asked eagerly.

"Hubby, calm down before giving yourself a heart attack." she told him.

She touched a part of the wall and said, "Old tiger expanded the basement to dig a tunnel that leads to our bunker but it’s taking a while because we have to do it secretly. Go and press that red button on the wall."

He did not even bother to question the use of the red button which was loudly obviously, begging to be pushed.

While he was doing that with his back turned to her, she swiftly opened the door with a key card and dropped the space ship in the empty space and then turned around.

Muyang turned around at the same time she did, looking around to see what the button opened.

"It’s here." she said.

He rushed past her, leaving only a trail of wind that carried his cologne lingering behind.

Like a kid with a new toy, he admired every part of the space ship, touching it gently as if he was afraid that it would fall apart if his hands were too rough.

It was grey in color, and slim, shaped like a long submarine. It had gorgeous circular patterns encased into it’s hard exterior.

"Look at these lines." he gushed. "And the scratches, it looks like it encountered something that damaged it over here. What in the world could have done such damage to it? Do you suppose that it could have been a dangerous weapon?"

He was studying every inch of the outside of the ship and admiring it deeply.

"What kind of fuel do you think it runs on?" he asked.

"I don’t think it uses fuel." she answered.

"Mmm, you are right, it must use a very sophisticated type of energy, something we don’t have on earth." he said.

She pulled him away from the space ship forcefully and closed the secret door while saying, "Okay, you have seen it and we can now go, I promised grandmother that I would assist her in the making of the moon cakes."

"No, wait a bit, honey, I haven’t seen enough, please." he wailed.

"No," she refused, insistently and continued to drag him out of the basement. "You can use the route through the antique shop in the catacombs to return on your personal time."

If he wanted to, he could have easily wrung his hand out of hers and turned back but he didn’t do so. He left the basement with her and sulked like a child all the way back home.

She had to keep promising him that he would spend all the time he wanted with the spaceship, coax him and even bribe him with a kiss in order to cheer him up again.

’Good Lord, he is no different from his daughter.’ she thought. Even little monk was not this troublesome.

But nothing could escape the old madam’s discerning eye and she noticed that something was wrong with Muyang, immediately.

"What happened to him?" she asked Chi Lian as they made the moon cakes.

"I don’t know." she lied.

"Do you think that he is hungry?" she asked him.

"Maybe." she replied.

The old madam sent a maid with some snacks to give Muyang and the others. All the brothers were home and so were their parents. It was a full house, and someone was bound to be hungry.

She was right, because the snack tray was returned a minute later with a request for more snacks.

"Mother, we are here to help." Muyang’s mother and his aunt came into the kitchen to assist the old madam.

"I told you to relax, why are you doing this again?" the old madam asked them.

They were always working, and it was okay for them to rest in such times. Especially Weili who had been running around for all three days of the camping event.

"Mother, I will feel guilty if I sit while you work alone." He Weili told her. "In fact, you should rest and we will do the rest."

"It’s just moon cakes, why are you all making a fuss?" the old madam complained as the two women hijacked her, taking control of both her hands and forcing her to take a sit.

Chi Lian looked at the old madam and she had a brilliant idea on how to keep her busy. "Grandmother, maybe you can bring the wedding book mother-in-law told me you have been arranging. Muyang and I decided to have our wedding next week."

Muyang’s aunt dropped the small jar of the osmanthus wine which was meant to be taken to the old master.

"Sorry," she apologized immediately.

The nearest maid rushed to clean up the broken shards while the butler got another jar of the same wine. Chi Lian had brought an entire drum of that wine after spinning the wheel a few times.

"Say that again, you are going to have a wedding!" the old madam said, slowly.

"Yes, next week or the one after." Chi Lian added. "We already have a venue and clothes so help us pick a day, decorations, a guest list of only close family members.

The old madam got off the chair, took the tray of half finished moon cakes out of Chi Lian’s hands and said urgently, "Forget all this, let’s go and plan the wedding properly."
