Chapter 63: The return of a beloved daughter.
"Slow down big guy, you are going to throw me down." She laughed as she caressed the big dog. It was trying its best to lick her face but she kept dodging.
"Chi Lian, so you know how to find your way home again." Mama Chi said. She was standing in the door way and looking at her with an unimpressed look.
"Mother, shouldn’t you be hugging your daughter?"
"I will hug my daughter when she stops playing around with the dog."
Chi Lian abandoned Black guard and went in for a hug with a mother.
"Mother, Chi-Chi missed you so much." She said childishly.
As her mother caressed her hair, she tightened the hug and rubbed her head against her chest like a kitten. It was really nice having a mother. Her warmth alone was enough to make her close her eyes and fall asleep with sweet dreams.
"Such a grown woman but you are still acting like a baby."
"I am not so grown that I stopped your being your baby."
"Let’s go and find the others. How have you been? Were you injured in any way on your trip?" Mama Chi questioned her as they walked.
Along the way, she noticed three new maids in the house and one of her her body guard carried her very large suitcase upstairs.
"Mother, who hired new maids?"
"Your elder brother Chi Wei, He said this house is too big for one person for clean. Now we have four maids, a cook, a butler, driver and the four bodyguards. Even with them all living here, we still have empty rooms. I never thought I would live in such a mansion my whole life. I am telling you Chi-Chi, if only those wealthy madams who used to turn their noses up at me in the past could see me now.
By the way the first movie our company is shooting is almost finished. That’s why your brother_"
"Daddy," Chi Lian run away from her mother gladly. Mama Chi could talk one’s ear off if she was given the opportunity.
"Chi-Chi, you are back." Her father hugged her and turned her around. He checked her body for any sign of injuries.
"Mama," Mei-Mei screamed. She was in Chi Zimo’s arms and waving her chubby arms around eagerly.
"Baby, come here." Chi Lian squatted down and Mei-Mei run to her. She threw herself into her mother’s arms and Chi Lian whirled her around. "You are getting heavy." She laughed.
Mwah, mwah, mwah, she kissed Mei-Mei entire face. "Did you miss mummy?" she asked.
"I don’t think she understands the term missing." Chi Zimo said.
"She understands the concept." Chi Lian told him. "Every time she notices my absence and cries, she is missing me."
"Sister I missed you." Chi Zimo said. He was swinging his body from left to right lightly.
She knew her brother very well. The boy was angling for something.
"Let me guess, you want your gift."
"Sister." Chi Zimo pretended to be offended, "How can you think so little of me! But if the gift is nearby I will happily take it off your hands." He laughed mischievously.
While shaking her head and laughing, she told him, "Check my bag, there is a black lap top, it’s yours."
Off Chi Zimo went, laughing joyfully.
"Chi-Chi, you have some guests by the way. They arrived yesterday and Muyang left them here because they said they only trust you."
"Visitors, who are they?"
"An old woman and a young boy, they are in the gardens right now. I asked the butler to tell them you are here." Mama Chi informed her.
She recognized them from her mother’s descriptions. It was definitely Wuxi and his grandmother.
Black guard showed up first, running towards her and Wuxi was happily running after the big dog. His grandmother followed slowly.
"Chocolate aunty, you are here." Wuxi hugged her legs when he saw her.
"Chocolate aunty!" she looked at the little boy in puzzlement.
"He doesn’t know your name. All he remembers is that you gave him chocolate in the village. We did not have access to such snacks and sweets in the village so he will forever remember you as the aunty who gave him sweets." His grandmother explained.
Chi Lian was embarrassed to realize that she also did not know the old lady’s name.
"Uhm, Wuxi’s grandmother, I did not ask for your name back then."
"Is that why you are looking embarrassed like this? I understand you; we were caught in a chaotic situation. Things like names were not on our list of priorities. My name is Meng Furui but you can call me grandma Meng."
Chi Lian nodded, "Call me Chi-Chi." She introduced herself as well.
"Is this your daughter?" grandma Meng pinched Mei-Mei’s cheek.
"Yes, she is my baby Mei-Mei."
"Beautiful little sister," Wuxi shouted. He tugged on Mei-Mei’s feet with a desire to play with her.
"Oh, my Wuxi, do you like the beautiful baby?" his grandmother asked.
Wuxi shyly nodded and the adults laughed.
"Chi-Chi, we should raise Wuxi as Mei-Mei’s husband."
Wuxi the eight year old knowledgeable boy blushed and run away while the adults laughed some more.
Chi Lian looked around and realized she had yet to see her older brothers.
"Mother where are my brothers?"
"They are both at the company working. Chi Wei said he is almost done with the project you gave him while Chi Rui is monitoring the shooting of the movie but I sent them a message telling them that you are home so I am sure they will be home soon."
"Good because I brought gifts for everyone. Let’s go inside so that I hand them out."
The group headed inside and gathered in the living room.
Chi Lian carried a sturbbon Mei-Mei who refused to go down and headed to her bedroom. She was planning to bring down some of the orchids and medicinal herbs she had picked from the forest with her. If possible, they would be planted in the garden.
When Mama Chi pointed the room out to her, she did not expect its extravagance. It was three times bigger than her former room. The closet was large and full of expensive outfits, shoes and bags which she definitely did not buy for herself.
"Where did all these things come from?" she asked herself.
The bathroom had the same lay out as Muyang’s bathroom. The only difference was that her tiles were black.
Her dressing mirror was full of expensive cosmetics and perfumes which also were not purchased by her.
"Was this the work of Jun Muyang?"
There was a phone in the room on the table next to the head board. The buttons on the phone indicated where the call would go.
She called the butler and asked for a maid to come to her room and help her carry out the gifts.
She used this opportunity to include the harvested rice, tomatoes, corn and apples. She placed them in boxes for easy transportation.
"Congratulations on your first harvest, please buy some machinery to process your remaining crops." Tetra joyfully informed her.
"Tell T4 to do it." That conniving fox was now spending half of his time in the farming game.
