Chapter 62: A ring of anxiety.
The mighty Little Peep Star: [My darlings who love to gossip, I have it on good authority that young master J was kicked off the bed by Lady C. I will not attach a picture, let’s play the guessing game.]
Princess meow: [All gossipers assemble. Begin the mission to unveil these two people.]
Ratatouille: [This game is for primary students, I refuse to participate in it.]
The cultivator: [It’s easy; just list all the young masters in the empire whose animals start with J and the women whose names start with C.]
Jun Muyang’s legal wife: [You rotten paparazzo, you just want people to assume its Jun Muyang
and Chi Lian but I refuse to believe it.]
Fire baby: [Everyone is missing the most important issue here. What were they doing in bed? Let us guess that first.]
Your daddy:[I know what they were doing but I am too shy to say it?]
Lao-tzu: [As a married man I can guess what they were doing. I do it everyday. ]
Man with muscles: [ @Lao-tzu what supplementsare you using. Kindly share your experience. ]
Peep star for life: [If J is Jun Muyang and C is Lady Chi Lian does this mean their relationship has progressed. Also is Jun Muyang weak in bed? Heheheeeee..]
Jun Muyang who would soon be trending for being kicked off the bed was busy sulking like a child because he did not get a gift.
He looked at Chi Lian expectantly and asked again. "Where is my gift?"
"It’s in the bag." She laughed nervously and pulled out the large jewelry box. Out of it, she took out a smaller box. It was a tiny black box, the kind in which rings are placed before someone proposes.
"Huh." Shocked gasps came from the women. Was Chi Lian actually going to propose to him?
They looked at one another in shared shock and astonishment.
Muyang was astonished as well. Surely she was not planning to do something drastic. Would she take a mile just because he had allowed to take her a step?
"You are not really....uhm..." he stammered slightly.
She opened the ring box and removed a green jade thumb ring.
"I got this made for you from one of the stones I won in the stone gambling plaza." She happily presented it to him.
He looked at her with a hint of fright in his eyes. This woman really knew how to get his heart going wild.
Without saying anything, he grabbed the ring and the box and went upstairs with them.
She was actually disappointed when he left like that. She had taken time to design that ring and was expecting a smile or some bit of praise from him, not cold silence.
Cautiously, she turned around and asked his family, "Is he upset?"
"That one." His mother mocked, "He has always been a sully kid. Don’t mind him. If he did not like your gift, he would not have taken it with him." He Weili understood her son more than he understood himself.
"Yes, granddaughter in law, Muyang loves your gift."
Together, the Jun family assured her one after the other. That kid would not be allowed to scare his wife away on their watch.
Jun Muyang returned downstairs in a suit and said he was leaving for work.
"It’s a weekend, why are you going in?"
"Oh," he sat down, crossed his legs and kept flipping his right hand in the air as if he were swatting invisible flies away.
"He is wearing the ring." He Weili whispered and the rest of the group tried hard not to laugh at his awkward reactions.
Gift giving was done. It was time for her to go and see her baby. Early in the morning, Muyang had received a text informing them that she was sleeping. Surely, she was awake by now.
"Grandpa, Grandma, mother, I am going home to see Mei-Mei now."
"Yes, yes, you should do that. Mei-Mei has missed you so much." The old madam rushed her. Nothing was more important than the happiness of her grandchild.
"By the way Chi-Chi," He Weili asked, "Is Mei-Mei still breast feeding? I read online that these days it’s good for children to breast feed at least until they are two and a half years old."
Like a magnet, Jun Muyang’s eyes moved straight to her chest.
Chi Lian blushed and shook her head wildly. "Mother, Mei-Mei stopped breast feeding a while back. Once she tasted food, she did not want the breast anymore."
"Oh, she is just like her father then." He Weili laughed. "Back then, _"
"We are leaving." Muyang grabbed Chi Lian’s hand and dragged her out of the house. Why did his family insist on telling embarrassing stories?
Once they were out of the house, she pulled him back. "Muyang slow down." She said to him.
"Sorry." The hold on her hand loosened up somewhat. "I just thought you would love to see your sooner now."
"About the house_"
"It is grandpa’s gift to you, he will not take it back no matter what you say or do."
"Can I pay for it?" she noticed the scowl on his face and continued, "I just feel terrible accepting such an expensive from him?"
"You gave him an expensive ginseng. It’s a lifesaving product and almost the same price as the house. By that logic, Should he pay for it as well?"
"No, no, no..." she refused.
"Then accept his gift happily. I handed the papers which show your ownership to your mother. Ask her or them and keep them somewhere safe."
"En_"
"If my mother asks you about breast feeding again, find an excuse and exist the room."
"Okay." She nodded. She would have to search for all the details on breast feeding though and educate herself just in case.
The house was just a one minute walk away and they arrived soon.
"I will give you some privacy with your family."
Before he could leave, she tugged on his shirt and asked, "Will you be living by yourself in your old house."
She liked having him as a neighbor. She loved looking out the window and seeing him coming back from the gym, playing with his dog or watering his flowers. She loved the fact that she could go from her house to his at any time and share a car with him sometimes on the way home or to work.
"I am living with my family for now and I will be here for the next foreseeable future. I can’t be too far from Mei-Mei."
"Well, that’s good."
"Why are you acting like you will die if I don’t live close to you?"
"I am not.’
"Yes you are." He smirked and insisted.
"Is that Mei-Mei?" Mama Chi’s voice was heard asking from inside the house.
The dog started barking and scratching the front door.
"I am going now." He quickly left.
The door swung open and Black guard jumped on her while barking loudly.
