Chapter 395: The morning after

Early in the morning the next day, Muyang came downstairs with a storage box which he took to the kitchen. In there, the chef and the maids were preparing a sumptuous breakfast for the family and when they saw the young master, most of them stopped their actions.

It was rare for Jun Muyang to enter the kitchen, one he could not cook and two everything he needed was delivered to his room, his office or wherever else he was in the house.

"Young master," the chef said with a smile, "What brings you into the kitchen today? Do you need something special to be prepared?"

Muyang unlocked the storage box and unloaded it’s contents. These were all products from the virtual farm which Chi Lian brought over.

"Do you know how to prepare winter melon soup?" Muyang asked the chef.

"Of course I do young master. I will prepare a very nourishing soup with these winter melons. They are fat and juicy, they even look fresh." the chef said with appreciative eyes.

"Alright, store away the rest of the things. Serve them when need be and make sure that you inform my parents about their presence in case they want to eat something from here. Separate them from the normal items which you buy from that markets."

"Yes young master." the chef replied.

These were all good looking fruits and vegetables. How could he not store them carefully?

Muyang left the kitchen with a cup of hot coffee in his hands. Slowly, he walked to the dining room and sat down with a newspaper in his hands. He perused through the contents slowly while sipping his hot black coffee. Ten minutes into this activity, he was interrupted by the voice of his elder brother.

"You still haven’t given up your habit of reading physical news papers brother." Ringo said and he pulled out a chair and sat down. "Don’t we all get our news from the television or the internet today?"

Muyang gave Ringo a lazy glance and he flipped a page over to the business section.

"So," Ringo continued talking anyway, "I heard that there is some movement in the Peninsula. Do you think it will affect our stock market?"

"I think everything affects the stock market." Muyang replied.

"But this is specific." Ringo emphasized by pointing his finger downward.

"There is no such thing as specific when it comes to the stock exchange." Muyang answered.

"Oooh," Ringo groaned a little petulantly too. "You are impossible to talk to little brother. Everything is cryptic with you. All I need is a yes or no."

"Don’t blame me if you are too lazy to think. I am more interested in the rumor of a prisoner swap that is costing our empire eight billion dollars. Who exactly are you buying back from the British?"

"That information is on a need to know basis." Ringo replied with a cheeky look on his face.

Ringo was happy because for once he had the upper hand on confidential information over his brother.

"I can easily deduct and narrow down the field. One it cannot be an ordinary criminal, for this much money to be exchanging hands it must be a political criminal or a researcher. Seven to three odds are it’s not a criminal or a researcher but it’s a high value asset that has been gathering information but he or she was arrested and needs extraction.

So what are you all spending our tax payers money on brother, a criminal, a scientist or a spy? Do you know why I still prefer to read the physical newspaper brother? It’s because only in newspapers do I get to see the ignored reality of our empire."

Muyang turned the second page of the newspaper over and he showed it to his brother. "This is a group of young university research students who went to exchange ideas at a winter camp in Manchester. Among their midst are three students whose shoe laces are tied in a way that oddly reminds me of an army knot.

An ordinary person sees this picture and they think, ’boring,’ there is nothing to see here. Me on the other hand, I see the picture and I think, ’huh, that’s odd, what are the chances?"

Ringo scoffed and placed both of his hands behind his head and leaned back arrogantly. "If you want in on the game brother, just say so."

Muyang rolled his eyes and he replied, "I am a married man, I don’t have time to play games. I understand that from the beginning of time all nations thrive on espionage to stay ahead of the others. I was just curious about the individual who was worth eight billion."

"Speaking of marriage," Ringo changed the topic "I have heard through the grape vine that your wife has bought more than a dozen buildings near the cold prison. What is she up to? We both know why that place is a desert town."

"She is moving her lab there."

"Aah, the most mythical lab in the world which we have all been searching for. So we will finally be able to put a face to it." Ringo chuckled. "I can recommend some highly skilled researchers."

"No thank you." Muyang cut his cut his brother off.

"Don’t say no just yet brother,"

Muyang placed the newspaper down and he said in a very cold and serious voice, "You will not be planting spies inside my wife’s lab. If you do and I discover them I will return them to you with their eyes carved out from their sockets."

Ringo laughed it off, "Sheesh, lighten up will you? I was just trying to help my one and only sister-in-law."

Ringo’s hand was placed over his heart as if his innocent offer was being twisted by his little brother.

Muyang gave Ringo an unimpressed look and he went back to reading the paper.

One of the maids brought coffee and a small cup cake for Ringo. He took his phone from his pocket to read the news online.

That’s how the old madam and her husband found them.

Muyang and Ringo put down whatever they were doing to greet their grandparents.

"Is Chi-Chi still sleeping?" the old madam asked Muyang.

"Yes, she spent half the night crying before I finally managed to get her to settle down."

Ringo chuckled at Muyang. "I bet that’s not how you thought you would be spending your wedding night."

The old madam frowned at Ringo and he buried his face in the cup.,

"What are we going to do about our Chi-Chi, what should we do to make her feel better?" the old madam asked Muyang.
