Transmigration: Lady Chi Woos The Ice cold Professor Jun -
Chapter 394: A temporary tearful goodbye.
Chapter 394: A temporary tearful goodbye.
The engagement banquet was a success and the atmosphere in the Jun house hold was very festive. All members of both families went to the Jun house to have a small personal celebration.
It involved food, drinks and lots of desert. When the feast was over, it was time for all of the Chi’s minus Chi Lian to return home and just as she predicted, her mother turned into a cry baby while her father became silently moody.
Her brothers hugged her and let her go quickly. She was only a short distance away so they would be seeing her everyday, at anytime if they wanted to. She could even come for sleepovers every other day if she wanted to.
"What are you going to do about your many pets?" Chi Rui asked her.
"I will move them after construction of our house is done. I don’t want to have to uproot them twice."
Moving them to the Jun house and then to her house a few months later was not ideal to her. Moreover, she would continue using the green houses at home to grow some of her plants and flowers.
Chi Rui hugged her once again and he said, "Don’t worry, I will make sure that they are well taken care of."
"We will miss you around the house kid." Chi Wei said when he hugged her.
Chi Zimo was in tears when he hugged her. "I will visit everyday sis. If you ever feel lonely, come back home."
Muyang gave Chi Zimo a side eye when he heard his encouraging his new wife to run home if she ever feels lonely.
Chi Zimo refused to back down from Muyang’s questioning gaze. "If you also ever feel wronged, come back home."
"Yes, I hear you baby brother." Chi Lian patted his back.
"M’not a baby anymore." Chi Zimo mumbled.
When it was time for her to bid her grandparents goodbye, grandmother An used the opportunity to give her last minute advice and reminders. "Make sure that you remember everything that I have taught you in the last few weeks. You cannot just come and go as you please in your in-laws house."
"Yes grandmother." she replied.
"And you must be respectful, if you are rebuked for making a mistake first think twice before talking back."
"Yes grandmother."
"Do not be lazy just because you have servants, a good wife should wake up early to supervise the maids, the kitchen and other workers. Do not ever allow your husband to go to work on an empty stomach.
If you do not feed him another woman will take advantage of that gap to deliver breakfast and try to seduce him.. It almost happened to me in the first months of my marriage with your grandfather. If your grandfather did not have self control and tell me about that woman I don’t know where we would be today.""
Grandpa who was standing next to them turned all shades of red out of embarrassment.
"Nuo, I think hat’s enough It has been long day and you need to rest. So do the children."
Madam An realized that she had maybe been talking too much. She pulled Chi Lian down for a hug. "Take care of yourself."
"Yes grandmother, take care of yourself as well." Chi Lian answered slightly tearfully.
Grandpa Wang decided to remain unmoved. This was not the first of his descendants to get married. How could a big man like himself cry?
"Take care of yourself well. I will echo what little Zimo has said, If you feel wronged tell me and I will knock some sense back into your husband’s head."
"Yes grandfather."
Even though all the farewells were finished, movement was slow. It was almost as if Chi Lian was leaving home for an overseas job or the military. The feeling of obvious melancholy was suffered by almost everyone. The situation was not helped when Chi Lian started sniveling while holding on to grandpa Wang’s hand tightly.
Chi Lian wondered why she was experiencing this suffocating feeling when her family lived just a few minutes away. She could literally run home everyday if she desired, she could eat break fast at home and lunch here with the Jun’s. So why did she feel as if she was being shipped off and sent off to boarding school.
Old madam Jun and He Weili stepped forward.
"In-laws, we will take care of her properly. Please do not be sad and trust us." Old madam Jun told Chi Lian’s family gently.
"Yes, she is also my daughter, how could I ever allow her to feel wronged?" He Weili added. "We will pamper her more than she has ever been pampered in her life. We will spoil her so much that she will not miss you."
Mama Chi wailed and covered her mouth.
"Sorry, I did not mean to say that she will not miss you." He Weili rushed to correct her words. "I mean that she will not feel alone for a single moment."
Jun Muyang also came forward and said, "Mother, father, grandparents, I will be a very wonderful husband."
Who knew that marrying a wife was such a tearful event? His mother-in-law was crying in his father-in-law’s arms. His brothers-in-law looked sorrowful and his wife was crying. What could he do in this situation except to reassure them?
"Oh this is so heart breaking." T4 said. "How has this celebration gone from joy and laughter to a feast of sadness?"
T4 could not understand these humans. Wasn’t marriage a good thing? And this was not just any marriage, it was marriage to Jun Muyang. His host had hit the jackpot!!! They should be setting off fireworks and dancing.
"You won’t understand." Chi Lian replied to T4.
T4 sighed as if he was exhausted.
Grandpa Wang took the firm decision because it seemed as though nobody else in the family would do it. They could not possibly spend all night here crying. It was time to go back home. "We should leave now, Chi Wei, Bolin, help everyone back to their cars."
Madam An sighed as her husband wheeled her out and everyone else waved goodbye to Chi Lian and her husband Muyang. None of them had imagined that it would be so hard to marry her off.
Chi Lian stayed standing in the doorway and she watched the last headlight of a car fade away.
"Come on," old madam Jun took her hand and led her inside the house slowly. She gave a glass of something to drink and she said, "Tomorrow, you will feel much better."
