Chapter 321: A tearful reunion
Chi Wei’s words were met with shocked looks and stunned silence by the Wang’s, Mama Chi and Papa Chi.
Chi Lian glared at Chi Wei who did not even realize that he had just thrown her under the bus by mentioning her specifically.
Madam An’s gaze quickly shifted to Chi Lian and she thought, "No wonder she was so protective of her mother last night."
Mama Chi looked at her sons and then her daughter in disbelief. She wondered why and how they kept such a big thing from her.
"Chi-Chi," she said in disbelief with her eyes squinting heavily.
Chi Lian swallowed and said defensively, "Mother, we had no proof so we could not tell you anything. Even my brothers agreed, you ask them?" she quickly lumped in the others. If she was going down, she was dragging them all with her, especially Chi Wei that betrayer.
"I can’t believe you all kept such a big secret from us." Papa Chi said as he looked at his children with disappointment on his face.
"Dad, you saw what happened the last time when I told mother that the people who raised her were not her real parents. She cried so much, fainted and ended up in a hospital. I blamed myself for that incident so much and I did not want to create another ruckus so soon without any concrete evidence moreover. What if I told mother that the Wang’s were her parents and I was wrong about it? Wouldn’t I make mother even unhappier that way?" Chi Lian hurried to defend her actions. "Even Muyang agreed that we should wait until we knew more. What if the Wang’s turned out to be worse than the Li’s then I would have done mother a disservice."
The Wang’s were shocked and Bolin’s mouth opened so wide that his jaw could hit the ground if possible.
Old master Wang thought, "Dear granddaughter, we are right here, can you not say your suspicions about us out loud."
While her mother was dazed, Chi Lian looked at old master Wang and Madam An and asked them, "Do you have proof that my mother is your daughter and how did you lose her for the Li family to raise her?"
Bolin fumbled with a piece of paper and he handed it to Wang Tong who passed it to Wang Zhao who passed it to Wang Siming and he passed it Wang Xue.
Chi Lian wanted to sigh out loud and slap her forehead. Were they playing a kindergarten game of send the ball around?
One person could stand up and just hand over the paper.
The paper finally came to Chi Lian and she perused it. It was the results of the dna test between mama Chi and Wang Shiqing and just as expected, they were a perfect match.
Chi Lian passed the paper to mama Chi and she said, "Mother, look, this is the dna test result, its proof that madam An and master Wang are your biological parents. Mother, aren’t you going to look?"
Tears were spilling out of mama Chi’s eyes as she took the paper from Chi Lian slowly. Her hands were shaking so much that she ended up clutching the paper and it ended up wrinkled.
"Mother," Chi Lian called softly. She placed her hand over her mother’s in comfort.
"Chilli pepper is crying again host." T4 said abruptly.
"Not now." she answered back. She needed to make sure that her mother was okay.
Madam An wheeled herself closer to mama Chi. When she was close enough, she reached her arm out and held mama Chi’s free hand. "Dear, mother is so sorry for not protecting you well." She said with tears flowing down her cheeks.
Mama Chi’s silent cries turned into loud heartfelt sobs. She was crying for two reasons, one being the onslaught of the horrible memories of her childhood and the other was for happiness because she did not have to beg for love anymore.
She finally had parents of her own who loved her.
To madam An and everyone’s surprise, Mama Chi leaned over and stretched her hands to embrace madam An.
"Mother," she said as she cried, over and over she just kept calling mother.
"Mother is here." Madam An kept repeating. "Mother is here Nuo, mother is sorry for coming late."
It was such a touching scene that everyone in the room shed a tear or two. It was impossible for one to remain stoic in that situation.
As for Xue, she was crying harder and louder than mama Chi and madam An. One would think she was the long lost daughter.
Around ten minutes later, mama Chi and madam An separated. Madam An started wiping mama Chi’s eyes while she sniveled. Nobody had ever spoiled her like this before, when she cried before; she used to wipe her own tears.
"Nuo, stop crying." Madam An said softly.
"Is that my...my name?" mama Chi asked.
"Yes," old master Wang stepped forward and answered. "Your mother and I were planning to name you Wang Nuo, as our last child, we wanted you to have both of our names. Your sister looks like me and your mother hoped that by naming you Nuo, you would look like her."
Mama Chi smiled and looked at madam An, searching for any similarities between them.
"You have my chin, my nose and my eyes." Madam An said happily.
"Really?" Mama Chi asked hopefully.
"Yes." Madam An agreed while nodding her head.
Mama Chi smiled and then she frowned a little bit.
"What’s wrong Nuo?" Madam An was quick to ask. Why was her daughter not smiling anymore?
"How did the Li family become my family?" Mama Chi asked.
Xue, the crying machine said loudly amidst her snivels, "Sister, it wasn’t mum’s fault. It was aunt who planned an accident when mother was about to give birth. Mother was in a coma when aunt stole you and gave you to that couple. Then she brought that couple’s dead daughter and passed her off as you. Sister you have no idea how much mother has blamed herself all these years because she thought you were dead. She visits the grave almost every month and on your birthday she takes flowers, buys an cake and prays at the temple. We have not seen her happy in so long, finding you has brought back joy to our family. Little sister you should not be mad at mother and father, they really didn’t know."
